Are mods a pc thing?  So sry for the dumb question, but if I wanted to instll certain 'adjustments' to the game, to change the appearence of my elves in character creator, or other fun stuff, is this available on xbox live?  will doing this exacerbate already existing glitches on my game?

Yes, mods are exclusive for PC players. Console players don't have access to the toolkit nor mods.

Lol...really....it isn't as broken....If you can get past the graphical flaws...which aren't as bad as people say...The game is quite fun on the xbox 360....personally that game feels to much like World of warcraft..on the PC as far as how the gameplay machanics work...( which i hated)..and 2nd you can't assume everybody even has a pc that can even handle Dragon age or any game in matter of fact.. ...

anyways i don't see why can't bioware add modding for the xbox 360 and ps3 versions of the game Unreal 3 for the ps3 had modding..so we know its possible on a console...

While I agree with you, we have gone down that road already. All we get from Bioware is a "we'll see. No promises." and a lot of PC players saying "yeah, dream on."

Sigh.

I actually had a friend who basically turned his x-box into a PC and was able to mod anything he wanted on it. I should try to get in touch with him hehe. (I don't think it's exactly legal though)

And ban you from Xbox Live along with it.

Well its not illegal to mod the 360, but it is against xbox live policy to use a modded 360 on their online service ... which will cause you to be banned from their services.

And as one PC user. I seriously hope they do develop means to allow user developed mods to the consoles, though most likely they won't be able to since it can cause problems with Sony and MS's censorship policies. Both Sony and MS have publicly announced that no AO material will ever be allowed on either system and with various mods currently made available ... it would become very hard to upkeep their anti-AO policy.

Lets face it, it's well known we love the console because game will work just fine, not having to worry about graphic cards and whatever. But we know we are limited and PC gamers do always have the best content if it's plausible. [ REMEMBER OBLIVION. ].

I mean, some mods are so vast they even upgrade the graphics hardcore if your card allows it, I mean, damn..

Well, I may have to get this for pc, then. I love the xbox, but sometimes I'd also love to throw it out of the window, of course that won't solve anythihng. Thanks for answering my question

I think someone would have to invent a keyboard peripheral for the 360 in order to do modding.

You can already use a keyboard....on the xbox i use it all the time cause i hate the on-board keyboard....and there's a chat pad...and secondly i was really being general...you can mod unreal 3 for the ps3.... so we know you can mod a game on the ps3...if you don't know of the game look it up but as i was saying it is possible...just need bioware to work on it..

Mods are never going to be on the 360, I hate sounding pessimistic but it is will never happen so don't get your hopes up, even if Bioware wants to Microsoft will get in the way and try to make you pay for them. I wouldn't mind seeing Bioware releasing some of the high rated player made adventures converted by them for the console, but still not getting my hopes up.

Don't know what copy you played, my Xbox copy works perfectly fine and the controlls are very comfortable for me. The only thing you PC users have over us is Mods which, from what I have seen is mostly nude mods, suggestive armor, and super model faces. (Its Oblivion All over again!) No I am not being ignorant I know overtime player made adventures will soon be released, but I am just saying right now there isn't much difference as far as the expirence, its just if you rather play an Action Game or an RTS game. (For the record i have played the PC version at a friends house and didn't like the controls at all)

What they needs to do is take the best content, top rated etc, and make it free DLC, they can keep a good flow of DLC and new content with out much work put into it on there part.

But its looking more and more like I'm going to be forced to get the PC game. Because I have a few ideas that would be sick for a. . . this is how **** goes down after the game ends, plot.

The best, top rated user mods... free? Microsoft charge for even the most basic cosmetic additions to games.

why would I pay a company to download something they had no part of making? If the user is not getting the money I spend, then no, I am not willing to pay for it.

Because they are storing the content for download? They are further providing the means to receive that content.

I would expect paying a live premium would be enough but there it is.

It's settled, buy the PC version and upgrade it reasonably. And download any mod you see, this will increase the actual value tenfold if you get the right mods.

lol buying upgrades for pc's every 5 months is a waste..Why keep on upgradeing a pc for games when you can get a console where the specs are the same across the board..and you know yould be having the same experience as the other 40+ million Console users...

Sorry but i rather buy DLC ....then pay for upgrades....

I'm afraid so. There isn't a real technical reason for it - there isn't truly any barrier to having mods on console, assuming you've got the HD capacity.

The reason for it is legal - Microsoft's and Sony's internet-based content network is based around the concept of charging for downloads (or at least paying to support them) , which isn't conducive to mods.

*sigh* This myth got old 3 years ago, along with all the 'PCs are on MMO life support' and 'PCs cost $6000' crap.

Let me explain things to you:

No-one does this. How many people do you know, honestly, who upgrade *anything* every 5 months, and for what reason would they do it? Even game requirements don't advance that quickly!

Hello

If you have a look on several other titles its possible to create great editors. Trials HD for example. And thats "just" an arcade game. You can create really nice things with its editor. A few independant games are with a editor also. Or have a look on this game-maker programs over there. Impressive. So its a fact that editors / mods are possible on consoles - but it seems, no developer wants to get in trouble creating such things. Its easier just to build up the game, to sell it and to offer content which binds the game-buyer to their company instead of creating freedom to the console-gamers. A pleasure that a few game-designer begin to see, that editors on console plattforms are another possible way to keep customers interested on their products. And its working on me.
