um how you going do mods without an input interface. I would think it would take about 4 months or more for a little mod if you had to use the controller for the input. gets the chills all over... OK bad thought bad. Thats why PC's FTW . I do feel for ya all though. It must suck reading about all the mods. They should of given PC's at least a separate forum. Put that would mean they actually care
about their customers. lmao thats funny. EA +care=fail

yeah, thats why we bought a xbox, motpoetryion. its 4 years old now and has never been upgraded in this time, but never got a blue screen like gamer-pcs do produce eventually.

Perhaps you didnt know, that there are 3 usb-connectors on every xbox. missing mouse and keyboard support doesnt count as an argument on me.

Well, I vote for a separated xbox-forum too. There is no reason for pc gamers to lurk in here. Maybe its possible to prevent those people coming over here by checking the game registrations and to restrict several parts of the forum for them / and us. Thanks.

I think you keep forgetting that that many people have both a pc, an xbox 360 as well as an ps3. Many families have a wii for playing family games together as well.

As for usermade mods on the Xbox as well as t5he ps 3; it can happen. The game 'little big planet' was one big mod where you could create and upload creatures and lanes for the game via PSN.

However, usermade mods for DA: Origins won't be happening anytime soon on the ps3 would they do so on the xbox 360... The reason for this is, as many have said, legal. To get a usermade mod out on the consoles, it would require that it go through Sony's and MS's certificatian as well as being rated by the ESRB. And it'll need to be sold through PSN or Xbox Live.

It could maybe happen if and when a group of modders made a usermade mod for DA: Origins that were top notch and of great quality. Bioware might then do hat they did with the Premium modules for NWN, and offering these usermade mods for sale, probablu as DLC, I'd guess.

And please lay off the console vs. pc war - it isn't helping anyone.

For the record I have a 6 year old pc. It has been upgraded in June 2009 (better videocard), january 2007 (bigger harddisk) and back in 2005, I think? it got another upgrade. Many People that play on pcs don't upgrade their computers every 5 months; a a few might. Most of us doesn't.

As for playing DA: Origins on the pc or the consoles, people will choose what they prefer best.

What they needs to do is take the best content, top rated etc, and make it free DLC, they can keep a good flow of DLC and new content with out much work put into it on there part.

But its looking more and more like I'm going to be forced to get the PC game. Because I have a few ideas that would be sick for a. . . this is how **** goes down after the game ends, plot.

Dreaming? lol
The mods are copyright by the creators. This would be a lenghty progress ,and then microsoft will charge because you bought their xbox for so cheap, and you will download it for free.. =) hehe

Xbox 360 screwed itself over without standardizing a hardrive. I will argue against those who say mods are a PC only thing since it is possible to get mods working on a console (IE UT3 for PS3) since there isn't that dramatic of a difference between the two. But definately not on the 360 version, and I doubt Bioware would go through the effort of patching the PS3 version to allow whatever is made in the toolkit available because of the customization that will be in mods outside of stock boundaries as well as specifications issues.

RROD would like to have a word with you. A 360 your age is a ticking timebomb. BSOD don't happen when you keep your drivers in check.

There was a thread in the PS3 section ages ago about the toolset it was mostly full of stupid stuff but there was some input from BioWare on the subject of "created content may come to the console versions"

Its actually quite easy to mod the game on your xbox to a degree, such as giving yourself infinite experience points, or endless gold. Invincibility and infinite mana. Changing appearances however is theoretically possible by altering the code that displays your characters appearance, but no-one would be able to tell what they were doing and it would probably just corrupt the save file.

This is all done by hexing your gamesave, there is plenty of free software out there to do it, and a few guides - but be warned, your xbox will be banned from online for even touching your saves. You would also have to buy a save transfer cable or the xploder accessory which allows you to load gamesaves to your PC. You can mod your xbox so it is practically invisible to microsoft - but I don't think that would help much. Too much effort if you ask me.

Its not worth it TBH, especially when what you can do on the PC blows it out of the water.

Except two things. You have the PC Ultimate Edition registered to your profile. And two, you can download the DAO character creator as a standalone tool and use that to custom edit your avatar picture.

So I'm going to go ahead and say you're wrong. (Unless we're talking about basic hex editing of the saves, which has already been covered much earlier in this thread.) There are no mod tools, for this game, for the Xbox.

Yes it was a basic hex edit and if you open your eyes you will also see that Dragon Age Origins and Awakening for 360 were on my profile first and that the character is from the 360... I just bought the Ultimate Edition like yesterday <.< Get a sense of humor you ass... One of my characters also has edited equipment if you want to go look at it before you make another list...

EDIT: Here I did it for you

Devolving your argument into a pointless ad hominem isn't going to help. I covered the concept of hex editing in my post. All you had to do was acknowledge that's what you did.

We're treading into the rather subjective definition of what constitues a mod. The problem is that the term used here refers not simply to hex editing but rather to complete redesigns of textures and other aspects of the game, which is currently impossible from the method you used. Your post leads people to think otherwise, which is what I was correcting.

Besides, hex editing Xbox saves is not without its risks. Unless you don't care about playing on Xbox live ever again.

My big thing is that I would like some mods, created by Bioware or whoever, that fix the issues of messed up formulas for things like the daggers (which don't factor in dexterity in the formula for damage, or so I've read) and bows (which have the same problem, only magnified since ALL their damage is from dexterity).

New boards, armor, characters, abilities, ect. would be great, but first and foremost, I'd just like some Mods to UNBREAK the game for the consoles before I worry about breaking it.

Not likely that we'll ever have even close to what the pc has for mods. That being said, the closest I've come to is to hex edit my save to offset the bugs. For example you can make an enchanted staff (6 effects) a bow and change the effects like adding damage, crit chance etc. As always there is a chance that they will ban you for modding a save, but after doing it for the last 6 months I really don't think they'll come after people for playing around with a save for a single-player offline game.

Yes, mods on xbox 360 exist.. you'll need to know how to hex edit files, extract files from a Memory unit/USB drive, HDD and so on.. just do a little research

I'm aware that there is a Mass Effect 2 mod for the Xbox that allows you to, among other things, import a face for Shepard. Is there any such a thing for Dragon Age that someone would be kind enough to post a link to?

Actually with the proper programs you can mod 360 game saves .... Not recommended though because it can damage the 360 and get you permma banned if you do ....
