Okay guys i finished my Canon Hawke playthrough and i got a question-

WHOS THE REAL ENEMY??

Archdemons are far too weak to be the real enemy, Flemeth also too weak. So guys who is the one???

My opinion: The maker after hes corrupted by staying in The black city. The war between mages and templars cause so much death that it allows the maker to release himself.

Anyway guys what do u think???Image IPB

Who's to say that there is one ultimate Big Bad in the DA-verse? That may not be the intention of the writers.

As to the Archdemons and Flemeth - I think we'll fight against more of the former, but the latter won't be shown to be "evil" or the enemy exactly. She has her motives, which may or may not be revealed in time (and which may or may not align themselves with what other major characters are seeking to accomplish).

The whole narrative of Dragon Age may present several obstacles or questionable entities that are meant to challenge and/or foil the efforts of the protagonists, and it could just be the general struggle, the journey of the mortal coil, that is the grand "enemy" we end up fighting against. Seems to me that the greatest threat in Thedas, thus far, is mortalkind itself. The fears, the prejudices, the attempts to grasp power, hubris - all things which can breed hate, cause oppression, and can nudge people ever closer to fighting amongst themselves. Maybe that's not going to give us a Night on Bald Mountain sort of winged demon to fight when the series winds down, but I think it could make for a pretty interesting (and engrossing) story overall.

Humans are the real enemy of Thedas! Archdemons, dragons and daemons can`t even compare to all the s*** humans can do... i dont`really need the  ancient, evil, superpowerful danger-thing. The situation in Thedas is this at the moment:

- Templar-Mage war
- Orlais on a brink of civil war, because of the dire Chantry-situation.( this will also affect the other chantry-nations)
- The Qunari/Tevinter are almost certain to take advantage considering the other nations are weakened.
- The darkspawn are still lurking in the deep roads, more cunning then ever.
- Morrigan/Flemeth/God-child

Seems to me like the ultimate chaos, and more than enough for the protagonist to deal with. If Bioware is to unleash another danger it will just be way too much IMHO.

The Chantry and he Qun (Not the Qunari... the Qun)

And any other similar religion or philosophy that tries to be imposed by force on others.

The only chantry that illuminates is a burning chantry

The Real Enemy? It's been the enemy that's ALWAYS the real enemy.

The Flood, of course.

Hawke. He spoils everyone's plans. You can't even innocently start a group that practices leaping off buildings in a small section of town at night without him slaughtering you all to a person.

Honestly? The Fade

The Veil is the one tiny, flimsy, little barrier keeping Demons, Spirits and who knows what else out of Thedas. It's already prone to breaking down and letting Demons through into Thedas, if all out war erupts and there's enough violence, death and blood, then the entire thing will just collapse and then what?

We're screwed, that's what. I can't imagine what will happen, but i bet it won't be good.

Don't you mean the one behind the creation of the Fade? The Fade itself can't be the enemy.

Yeah EA and subsequently BioWare are the enemy of Thedas and also the enemy of the Mass Effect Universe. It's so sad to see it happen.

Wait...

...are you saying that Sandal is actually the OGB who travelled back in time to create the Fade in his own image and Enchantment, as opposed to our physical world on Not Enchantment?

That is sheer madness, see. . Sheer madness.

The Qun has turned the Qunari into the world's greatest Superpower.

And the Chantry spends a great deal of effort doing charitable causes.

Personally? I don't think there will be a single "real" enemy, but rather the effects of a great many conflcits all adding up and taking their toll.

The Blight.
The Mage/Templar War.
The eventual next Qunari invasion.
Another Blight (which may be accelerated).
And any and all civil wars in between.

All of this happening in one century "the Dragon Age" will absolutely ruin Thedas.
