Hmm, been hearing a lot of demands for a new enemy faction to fight against, with most common being the Collectors. I feel that the best way to do this is to introduce Singleplayer DLC, though even then people would say it cheapens Mass Effect 2's Suicide Mission if Collectors were introduced in anyway.
What do you guys think?
I say, save the new enemies for later. Keep Firebase Operations backed up, because that would leave a much longer-lasting impression than new enemies, I guarantee you, plus said ops would be far from impossible to implement. Like, make it accessed via a new "difficulty" mode, and every 15 minutes or so (assuming each session lasts 1 hour, so in 25% increments) the difficulty spikes
*, so it starts out at about Bronze difficulty, but halfway through it's now on Gold difficulty. It would slowly warm you up to it, and should you fail at that point, you would still be sufficiently rewarded, so it's not like it's a real loss for less-experienced players. (So like, completing the first 15 minutes might net you 15K, the next 15 minutes would net you 30K for a total of 45K, and after that 75K for a whopping 120K, etc. So, huge payouts if you last the entire mission.) And maybe the Ops are different depending on the enemy faction?
That's just my two cents, though. It would certainly keep the game fresh imo.
* I know Firebase Operations wouldn't play out like the missions we do now, so difficulty would have to be implemented in a different way. I'm just speaking in regards to overall challenge.
