I just wish we could live in a world where everyone is accepted for who they are and not judged because they do not follow the 'correct' expectations of them.
But alas, there is not a shred of hope left for humanity to elevate to such great heights.
No hope. No hope for any of us.

Sadly with internet.. Geek are more social and vocal than ever before and worshiped among gods!
Okay that was a bit over dramatic

I agree. I don't have a "smart phone" yet but I enjoy gaming and watching movies on the computer I built myself.Laamaa wrote...

Owning an iPhone does not make you a nerd. Owning a classic tome about computer programming on the other hand is a step in the right direction. But most importantly, I would expect a nerd to like hardware and to enjoy poking around in computer programs of their own or where they don't belong in other people's code. I guess you don't really have to be superskilled at everything, but you have to have a genuine interest in all things technical.

Man . .A nerd is not just someone who enjoy computer. That would be a geek. A nerd is someone like Hawkins or a hacker. A geek is someone with poster of Chewbacca that play WoW 10 hours per day. and know everything about the lore of skyrim. A geek is someone that go to video game convention dressed has Darth Vader. A nerd is someone that write about biochemistry during offhours or become the president of the chess class. Someone who`s brillant .
Most of the time nerds are geek though.

I'm just pointing out that owning a fashion statement like an iPhone does not make you a computer nerd.

Well I was actually trying to define a computer nerd. That is implied when I talk about it, but of course you couldn't have known that so that's my mistake

Yup. SOmeone who has an iphone is just that ... someone who has an iphone. Someone who has every possible gadget .. He`s just a tech junkie.
Someone that open the iphone and want to make it faster and understand the core function of it. Even worse.. Actually designed it in the lab .. That a nerd.
Someone who know everything there`s to know about the iphone(Worth knowing) and dress has one during the apple convention.. That`s a geek.
For instance. David Gaider .. That would be a nerds. No offense David.
