I wanted to play some mp so I try to start up the game and then game doesn't load. I try again but the option to play the game is now greyed out. I crt+alt+del to see what's going on and MassEffect3.exe is there using up 208k. I try ending the process tree and it does nothing. I'm able to close Origin but ME3 remains in the process list, this is the third time this has happened and the only way I'm able to get ME3 running again is a full restart. I've never had a single program do this to me before since moving to Win7, wtf is going on?
MassEffect3.exe isn't closing.

I have the same problem. This never happened until a few days ago. Closing Origin and restarting it allows ME3 to load in another process, yet the 200kb process remains there forever.
EVEN WORSE, I cannot shutdown Windows anymore because this zombie-process cannot be closed! Trying to close by using commandline "taskkill /T F/ /PID xxxx" also does not work (yes I have admin rights).
This issue was introduced with the last Origin Version. Never happened with the old version. Obviously a bug.
I use Win7 64bit (Ultimate), Origin Version is 9.0.2.2064 - 185387

I have this exact same issue, this stops my PC from shutting down and I have to hard reboot.
Which is just f'ing crazy.
Deleted masseffect3.exe and let Origin download it again and still the same thing happens.
Lame Failoware crap

Same here.
Happnes also with BF3. I concated EA Support Consultant and he advied to kill every not-OS process and play the game like this. I asked, if he was serious.
Anyway I doubt that the advice form supportless support would help.
My OS is Win7 64.
I need to hard reboot my pc. Great. All I need is an hardware failure after a while.

Yep, I've tried that and I've tried verious task killing apps but nothing works. The last time I had to hard-reset due to the zombie process, my D drive needed to be scanned and some files fixed by Win7. If my hardware fails because I can't properly shut down then Bioware/EA can expect legal action.peter_de123 wrote...

It is assuming direct control over your computer, tbh.

I installed Leviathan DLC and now I have this same problem. ME3 worked last time I played it about 5 days ago. BF3 still works.

Pretty much as stated by others before before. 1x stuck MassEffect3.exe *32 process, seems to not want to die at all.
