Today I was playing platinum in randoms games as I normaly do when I don't have friends to play with, so I was playing, having fun etc, but then I got into a lobby that the guy said "Oh come on change that stupid Batarian Soldier, we don't allow Batarian Soldiers here, so change it or gtfo of here".

I told him that I won't change my character because he was impolite and because Batarian is good, then he yelled at me and vote to kick so I decided to leave.

I don't understand why people thinks that Batarian is bad, when in fact is one of the best characters in the game, perhaps they think that because Batarian also requires skill, lot of it, and too many of them can't do sh*t with it.

Anyway, something similar happened to some of you? , is Batarian good, bad?, platinum worthy?, what is not platinum worthy?, WHY?, where is my juice?

Platinum kicking eh? I was getting kicked frequently from Platinum for what I'm guessing is my N7 ranking, to the point I stopped trying to play it with randoms.

No class deserves to be booted just for being that class - any class can be "Viable".

Wow. Just. Wow.

Define irony....

Kicking a guy who solos gold & plat for using a class he's solos with because you think he sucks. You get his name? I wouldn't ask but I'd like to let this guy know the level of stupidity he resides in.

My Batarian Soldier, Quatro, is my main guy (6/6/0/6/6 build). He was the first character I was able to legitimately play Gold on regularly without needing to be carried. I routinely get 1st and 2nd in Gold matches. Haven't tried Platinum with him (or anyone else for that matter, other than a very brief solo goof with an N7 Paladin that lasted about :52 seconds).

Point is, I enjoy playing my N7's or whatever the flavor of the week is, but Batarian Soldiers (and the other "old" classes) are still completely viable, even for those of us who aren't RedJohn. ;)

Batarian Soldier is one of the strongest classes in the game.

....he DOES struggle vs Geth if he gets caught with his head out in the open for too long though. Stun-lock is a horrible, horrible game mechanic, IMO.

Inferno grenades + ballistic blades = winning

And I say this as someone who normally plays GI :)

People are ridiculous. Like posted above I get booted all the time for my high N7 rank. I just shrug it off and think to myself probably didn't want to part of that lobby anyway.

Actually this will sound very weird but, in fact, Geth and Reapers are the best enemies for Batarians, stun lock is not a problem for me, I learned how to avoid it very easy, running in diagonals.

Cerberus is the hardest for batarian only because of Atlasses, because their accuracy is very much higher than primes and Rocket troopers.

redjohn i think the problem is most people who use a batarian or vorcha or some underappreciated class play really bad with the chracter. How is this angry gamer whose lobby you joined supposed to know your the exception- that you are a good player. He probably thought you were like the rest.

How do you play the Batarian Soldier effectively? I've never played him outside of Silver, and I know I wasn't getting the most out of his skills there.

I avoid Cerberus with my Batarian Soldier because he can't stagger Phantoms with Ballistic Blades (or anything else he has, for that matter). Geth are easier except for the occasional stunlock.

this must be a pc thing because i can't get him to dodge geth worth nothing. on the other hand i no problem running threw cerberus.

1 of 2 ways to play him effectively.

First: All melee build specced 6/6/3/5/6. You make full use of his melee by speccing into Blade Armor. You can ballistic blade and punch a phantom even on gold. You take the 3 points in inferno grenades to help tackle mobs and tackle bosses.Ballistic blades specced for Explosion makes him one of the best crowd control classes in the game. This build is for the aggressive player, but has to pick his spots on when to melee.

Second: Skip Blade Armor. 0/6/6/6/6. You go full fitness for survivability. Spec your inferno grenades for armor damage and they simply just melt Reapers. This build is for the more conservative player that like to do damage from a distance. Ballistic blades same as above.

Batarian soldier is a powerhouse no matter the build. Grenade Armour Harrier platform is decent. Armour Ballistic built for recharge with a Harrier or Wraith or such is a beast. Ballistic Melee Batarian is the toughest all-melee on Gold or Plat.

But all these characters, except the Harrier platform, are hard to play. You have to actually be competent at the game to succeed. This is why the netbuilding idiots dismiss them.

The good news is that playing any niche or difficult-to-pull-off build means that all the netbuilding idiots automatically flag themselves, and you can leave the game before you're stuck with incompetent whiners.

Incidentally, what's your build? I go survivability and better recharge in Armor, Damage Range Bang in Ballistic, Power Power Weapon in Enforcer, and all Shields in Fitness. Then a Stronghold and a Harrier. It gives me survivability only shy of Krogan or Destroyers, good damage at long or mid range, and between Ballistic Blades, Harrier and Melee, close range is damned powerful. I never got the hang of the melee build, and the builds like mine but with Wraith or Piranha are too aggressive for a man with my lag to play.

Okay. To clear things up, I was part of that group and my buddy was the host. We kicked you because:

1. We were farming Glacier at the time.
2. You die ALOT (3 times on wave 1 of our first game)
3. Nobody could understand what the **** you were saying over the mic.

Can you really blame him for kicking you when you weren't even doing that good on a Destroyer? Personally, I would've let you stay, but my buddy was being cautious and putting the team first.

3 times on wave 1? so much for being able to dodge

Wow, never thought that, thanks for that point of view :)

My build is this one

http://narida.pytalh...9@0AA@@@0@0@0@0 I can make some variation in granades but basically that's my build.
I use Harrier X with Incendiary Ammo III or IV + power amp III or IV.

On first game, lot of lag, on second one I did good.

But the thing is not for the kick itselft, is for the Batarian, why is not considered good?, is my biggest curiosity on this forum actually.

I mean, why is bad?, why other classes are considered better?, I repeat, not for the kick itself, but it was like the third time today that someone vote to kick because "batarian is not good for platinum".
