I must ask here.

What weapon, is better to use in the silver challenge ?

I use my Mattock X often with Engineers on Silver. Works very well, but your trigger finger starts to hurt after a couple of games.

I play few games with Mattock.

This weapon is good, but as people say, only bronze or silver medal. But for me this weapon is nice a sniper, with mod added.

I play too with Cerberus Harrier few games, and i think, Cerberus Harrier is better for Soldiers.

still cannot get over the harrier's absurd ammo cap. and i think i do more damage with the mattock as long as my trigger finger isn't feeling lazy.

Not unlocked the Harrier but the Mattock is a damned good gun for an uncommon.

i'd say the best uncommon, hands down. it balances sniper and AR while being better than both (in the uncommon cat, that is). only reason i could see a newer player using anything else is if they want a light shotty (vanguards). in which case, i (though i'm fairly alone in this) say the scimitar is an excellent choice.

too many people playing with crappy rares at low level instead of the 'guaranteed' 10's.

My opinion is if you have an excellent trigger finger then the mattock is really good, but I personally think that the harrier is best for a lot of the situations ecnountered in this game. Although granted you'll be tethered to an ammo box for the whole game but I personally think having the extended clip helps a bit. I personally run the harrier on the demolisher to solve this problem. It may not solve it for every character but it at least solves it for that character. I definitely wouldn't use it on a caster class though. Too heavy. I only have it at level 1.

Yeah the physical pain of the Mattock in MP is why I can't use it. Harrier is a better gun and the need to be by an ammo box isn't that bad as few maps have too rough and access to the things.

I use the mattock on with quarian male - talking casual gold games, and so far hasn't let me down. Recently i just got the harrier I, tried it out but didn't seem to like it much, got harrier II last night, tried it out on my demolisher - usually go with the GPS, surprisingly the weapon seemed to handle better at lvl 2 and suited my gameplay (FBWGG) . just got out of the game, opened a PSP got a harrier III, sigh ;)

The issue is more GETTING the harrier. It's relatively easy to get a high level mattock since it's uncommon, getting a high level Harrier yeah... you're better off using Mattock until you get it.

When it comes to efficiency, I'll have to go with the Mattock. With overall firepower, I'll have to defer to the Harrier since with full auto, it only takes one pressed down mouse click to deal maximum DPS with it.

I like both guns, but if I were to choose, I'd go with my full leveled Mattock than my Harrier II. I'd like to be able to be effective in firefights, even without hugging an ammo box or a supply pylon incessantly.

You don't even need an excellent trigger finger considering the firing cap for the mattock is pretty low.

If you like either of the rifles I would use the mattock on casters and the harrier on soldiers and the demolisher.

Burst DPS is higher on Harrier I than on the Mattock X.

They should remove the max rate of fire on the Mattock. Then my Mario Party button tapping skills would make it better than the Harrier (yes I know the max is there due to modded controllers and clicking macros).

Harrier is better for weapon based classes and is easier on the finger, but is much harder to upgrade and ammo can be much more an issue.

That's why I like the Harrier on my Demolisher. With an Suppy Pylon around ammo isn't much of an issue.

I play on PC, is it just on PC where the Harrier has no recoil or stabilization issues at all?

Mattock vs. Harrier isn't really close at all.

Mattock is nice, harrier is nice. for me auto weapons trump the others. I get finger/wrist fatigue if I use non auto guns that I try and fire a lot of rounds with.

Mattock works fine on gold. Harrier has better damage but the mattock is more accurate and nets more headshots for me. The harrier if fired in bursts is highly accurate without stability and still gets pretty decent headshots also. There is a difference on elites because the harrier has the higher damage and there is no headshot volume to worry with. Both are great weapons. Both have strengths and weaknesses.

i also play on PC, and cant recall any stability problem on the harrier

actully not really sure if it has near-to-no recoil or i am instead used to compensate for it and dont even notice it anymore... could be the latter

*sigh* I don't have the harrier yet, But I love the mattock. It kinda makes me sad that the former is a straight-up upgrade of the later (spare ammo count aside).

I like it, but after taking a pause and coming back, my finger has lost some exercise and now I'm struggling to get back them Diablo-grade finger-abs.

I think that the mattock should be more accurate out of cover and suffer less from accuracy loss when firing fast. The extra finger work should be rewarded, maybe even a little more damage.
