That when I got to the alienage on my dailsh warden that shianni didn't comment on me being dalish, although she did acknowledge me as an elf. I suppose it is probably difficult for a city elf to tell if another elf was dalish.....although the dalish don't seem to have this problem since they were very friendly to my dalish warden compared to my human (and elf mage) wardens.
I was slightly disappointed.....

The Dalish have facial tattoos that a City Elf may or may not be educated enough to recognize, but which any Dalish will.

The Dalish are more or less a myth to the City Elves of the Denerim alienage. Soris doesn't believe they exist.
Though that should really mean that the Warden being Dalish should be a bigger deal, rather than being basically ignored.

Ya I was hoping to get at least some reaction to being dalish - or maybe even conversation options saying you are dalish (that elf who sells stuff asks you where you are from, but you can't tell him you're dalish), but none of the city elves recognize you as one.

Even if they don't recognize you as one (and I can't blame them, since most city elves have never seen a Dalish and therefor couldn't recognize one) it would be nice for the PC to say something and get a reaction that way. Like make an offhand comment on how your clan would or wouldn't react to this problem if they were in the city elves' shoes, have her enquire what you meant and then tell her you're Dalish. Or have her ask about the facial tattoos and give the PC a chance to tell her you're Dalish. Something.
I agree that there's not nearly enough in-game acknowledgement of being Dalish, which is too bad because it would make for a lot of interesting conversations.

How would they know you're Dalish? They've never seen Dalish elves. Why would they think your vallaslin are anything more than funky tattoos? Shianni herself says she doesn't know every elf in the alienage.
The PC would have had to say something to be acknowledged as a non-CE, I think, but the opportunity never comes up in game.

That's the thing. The elf merchant even asks where you are from, but you don't even get the option to say you're dalish.

I was pretty disapointed in that. :c
Moreso when Alarith asks you about were you're from. The only real conversation openers when being Dalish are with Velanna and Ariane (and Leliana I guess, if you want to include her in that ahaha), I think, which is sort of disapointing.
I believe if you're Dalish or a dwarf you do get some conversation points about not believing in the Maker, atleast. P: (Anyone can say how they don't believe in the Maker, I believe, but I think dwarves and Dalish have more oppurtinities?)

I was hoping for a better interaction when my CE came home. When that part of the game was over, I felt a bit let down.
I loved how my DE was received by the other Dalish.

I didn't know that
Makes sense for him, though. Alarith has actually seen Dalish, back when he was a child, so maybe he recognised the tattoos.
