No more FLOOD! they are gone. I know I got rid of them.
Installation 01, Installation 02, Installation 03, Installation 06, Installation 07.
These all contain the Flood.
Is the Halo series doomed to have a Synthesis ending too?

Derp. I forgot Installation 05 wasn't destroyed after Halo 2.
There's also the fact that the Flood are most likely extra-solar. So there's probably more out of the Milky Way.

you do realize there will be a Halo 5 and Halo 6 right? We are far off from seeing the end of Master Chief's story.
We already know what happens 7 years after Halo 3 (2 years after Halo 4) due to a comic/short story: "The Return". It takes place in 2559.

They must have found 05 whilst I was sleeping....
Remind me is there an Installation 04, or did I bust that one too.
...infact I'm still sleeping. Cortana wake me up before we crash, ok....

Technically you destroy Installation 04 twice, due to Installation 04B being created.

Destruction: Chief shoots a magical tube that’ll wipe out everything made of Forerunner, plus every ship in the galaxy.
Control: Master chief controlls everything forerunner created, but has to kill himself....for some reason.
Synthesis: Chief sacrifices himself to merge Forerunner and everything in the galaxy together, to create a super species.
and in all the endings, chief dies and Slipspace is destroyed.

I've never gotten into the Gears series. I'm not a fan of shooters in general. They have to be exceptionally good for me to enjoy them, such as Halo or Half-Life.
I actually own Gears 2 and 3 but haven't played them.

You have to start at Gears 1 though. They really are good games, decent storyline. But GREAT shooter mechanics. Really a blast. Gears 1 might show it's age nowadays though, not as bad as ME1 though.

Eh, it's just an oversaturated genre at the moment.
I might get into Gears once Gears of War: Judgement releases.

Er... this has absolutely nothing to do with what I said. I am well aware that both the Forerunners and Precursors are still alive.
3- Also, no one knows what the true purpose of the Flood was, nor even if the Precursors made it, not to mention with so many theories out there for them.
Evidently you've not read the Forerunner Saga. The Flood were created to serve multiple purposes, one of them being what I established in my last post and the second is stated by the Timeless One at the end of Cryptum to be their instrument for revenge against the Forerunners.

Honestly, that might not be a bad entry point, it is set before the events of Gears 1. So if you like that, maybe you could go on to play the GoW trilogy. Although Gears Judgement will be made slightly different to the other 3.
It's still looking really good though! You're getting me excited for it now XD

not to mention the countless Shield Worlds which Mendicant Bias betrayed the locations of, and the fact that the Precursors and Flood became synonymous and are somewhere outside the galaxy waiting to return to 'test' humanity for the Mantle again.

I've read both books of it, and considering that the Primordial states that the Flood was a test to see if a species was ready for the Mantle. And the points I made were numbered to the responses you did. The Precursors are the ones who left the galaxy, the Forerunners, if any are still alive, stayed within the galaxy. They never left it, as you said,
Also, to whomever asked, I play Gears.

I never said the Forerunners left the galaxy, I said that they left the ORION ARM of the galaxy and simply moved into deeper and unexplored territory.

Nope. Halo will end with the Master Chief ending it on a badass note, either alive or dead.
Commander Shepard went out with a whimper, or trying to commit suicide, and succeeding.
Thank you!

Nah, no one could be so stupid as to give the game such absolutely turd'ish endings. It would be mediocre writing ripping on previously established games like Deux Ex that wouldn't fit the badass theme of the entire Halo series. Only idiots would write something like that. It will NEVER happen...oh...wait...
