Basically, I've heard about so much Cut content for ME3 that I thought it would be a great idea to list all of that stuff in one thread.

Here is an example I've heard about:

There was going to be a mission that involved hunting a Cerberus Colonel, Armitage. Near the end of the mission, you were supposed to find Zaeed, who took a job to protect the guy. You could convince Zaeed to back down or you could kill him, and then you would focus on Armitage.

Post any cut content you've heard about here!

This thread  contains a lot of stuff that was cut from the original script. Beware Spoilers.

That was in the original script. Cuts are a part of game development. The ME2 suicide mission was planned on being longer and was meant to explore the creation cycle of reapers with more depth, but was cut for being too complicated.

Most of this stuff that's being called cut content never even got to the point of being considered content at all.

Yeah. ME1 had Callistan cut, all games naturally can't do everything they set out to do. It's part of the game dev cycle

They cut out my weapon-holstering, That annoys me to no end.

edit: and the film grain. Granted, aside from the wonky animations, ME3 is a beautiful game imo. I just miss the film grain.

There is a difference between cut "content" and cut "concepts".

The lack of weapon-holstering was annoying in that it signalled the series' move from exploration/roleplay to simple shooter with few rpg semblances. I also wish that they hadn't cut the indoctrination ending (Final Hours App) in favor of what we got, but oh well. . .

I don't necessarily agree, while the skyboxes were simply amazing on certain levels, I generally thought the graphics were average at best (on Xbox). The water animations were horrible imo, and often times I could see plenty of jagged edges here and there. That isn't to say that ME3 is an ugly game, I just think it was rather average graphically for nowadays, and perhaps BF3 has ruined me there.

Conversation with Ashley about Shepard's death... will never forgive BioWare for that one.

Originally, there was supposed to be a big boss fight with the Illusive Man. He was supposed to turn into a huge Reapers monster and you'd have to kill him. But Bioware, being pushed for time by EA, had to cut this fight. Which is a shame because I was looking forward to another epic final boss.

This.

There were also a lot of cut concepts for ME2. In one version, Mordin had a completely different personality.

Was that actual cut content?

The only reference to it I've ever seen were in screenshots. I never heard sound files or saw video, and there were allegations when it was first being dicussed that the conversation about Shepard's death was a hoax.

That being said, if it was actually cut content it should be added back into the game Leviathon. It was a great convo, whether fan made or created by Bioware.

Screenshot was based on the text file or something that was found in beta (as far as I know).

no...they cut the final boss battle because it would be too "video gamey" and "cheesy" which i completely agree with. they also cut it because they were criticized for the me2 boss battle. boss battles are dumb and oldschool

Yeah. On top of that I believe they didn't want to de-humanise him too much, and thought that the Monster TIM thing would have taken away too much from the fact that TIM's strengths are his personal presence and strength of personality, rather than being physically strong. He's supposed to be an intellectual enemy, not so much a physical one.

I heard The Illusive Man was supposed to have sick reaper tech and become a boss fight. It didn't bother me that they didn't put that in there though.

The criticism aimed at Mass Effect 2 wasn't because Bioware used a boss battle, but rather that it seemed like one ripped from a 1980s arcade game. The Human Reaper was kind of lame. It also didn't make sense why sapient star ships would start out in a form that looked humanoid.

In contrast not many people criticized Bioware for the Saren/Sovereign, Tela Vasir, or Shadow Broker boss battles. People generally liked those.

In that case I hope that convo made its way into Leviathan!

Um... This isn't content. It was from an original script. It wasn't made in the first place because they decided early on to go a different route.

The trial at the beginning was cut for some reason. Still kind of annoyed about that.

Actually, part of the conversation was in the Cerberus Base mission, while going over the video files of his reconstruction, if you had Ashley with you.

I'll have to check that out as I normally have Garrus with me.

I'm fine with the cut Illusive ReaperMan fight.

Not all cut content would make a game better, and some people forget that. I am interested, though, about the things that were cut for time and resources and not because it didn't fit.

Iam glad they cut the trial. What should he be trialed for? For blowing up a relay? If you dont do it, Alliance comandos will.

But probably there will be an opportunity to recapitalise on past actions for the Wiiu. Interactive comic, might be some sort of trial as well.
