I still wonder why all the No's are here. If you dont like ME3, talking here isn't going to change anything.

Venting is more fun than the actual game was. Also trolling pro-enders is endless entertainment (especially the wannabe intellectuals).

we wouldnt have the EC without people voiceing their concerns after ME3 was released. not that i think the EC was even worth attempting at all. but still, its a fact.

also, this forum is also part of the mass effect journey. i enjoy the MEuniverse and the discusions about it. more then i enjoy playing ME3, which is dissapointing to say, but true.

F*** NO.
Rannoch , Tucanka, and Grissom Academy were the ONLY missions in the entire game that were well done, the rest was garbage. They were also the only parts of the game that actually delivered on the whole "your choices matter" thing.
In fact it was the only part of the entire trilogy, besides the Suicide Mission from ME2, where your choices DID matter.

A lot of people who liked the EC have left the forum.

The poll numbers are really only representative of the small sample size that is BSN.

In the context of yes or no, yes.  I enjoyed the game all the way to the beam in London.

Really?  So you left Kaidan to die on Virmire, but had him show up in ME 2 and 3?  You killed Wrex, and he showed up in the war council demanding a cure for the genophage?  Interesting, as none of that happened to me.  VS survivor was the one that survived every time for me.  Did you hit the save game editor too many times?

I voted Yes. Taken as a whole, I really enjoyed Mass Effect 3 and am continuing to enjoy it.

Is it better than Mass Effect 1? Yes!
Is it better than Mass Effect 2? No.

This simple question was tougher than I thought - as much as I hated the endings, I really enjoyed the rest of it ...

No

My choices didn't matter AND the endings were dull.

Though it goes without saying that there were some great moments, they are overshadowed with catalyst taint and an example of art being overzealously forced. No. It erased the point of my choices and the past 7 years of lore AND turned a unique and mysteriously wonderful universe into yet another robo singularity trope. It's the worst case scenario realized.

I'm as happy as I can be after watching a chef spit in my soup.

Twice.

Alot of ending haters are gone. It's not nearly as crowded as it was.

A lot of them also played the EC and dropped the game.  They got an ending that they felt wasn't total poop (I think it still is) and did move on, because they no longer care and weren't that "invested" in it to begin with.  I don't mean they didn't care about ME or enjoy it, but they didn't care to play it over and over again.  Some said that they never cared at all about the characters or any romance, it was all about shooting.  Not representative, but I've read a number of "it's better, not great, but now I can move onto something else" posts.

No. Ignoring the endings, I disliked how they handled Cerberus, the Reapers, EDI's character, the Geth, the broken CC and war-asset mechanic, an insane amount of fetch quests in lieu of real sidequests,  the frustratingly large amount of auto dialogue, and the decision to expend resources on a multiplayer component in the finale of a single-player trilogy.

Bioware's misdirection's, falsehoods, and gross exaggerations pre-release didn't help either, nor did their post-release PR campaign.

^ That sounds awful. I'VE INVESTED SO MUCH IN THIS.

I really hope the ME universe lives on in another trilogy or something. Then it can surpass and pay homage to the first one, then we can lay it rest in peace.

The evening and late night crowd (PST) still has to weigh in. They tend to be much more critical of ME3 than daytime BSN.

Gameplay, music (excluding Priority:Earth on) and controls are solid.

I did not like the main plot/story, broken journal, autodialogues, fetch-quests, everything Chronos Station on (includes endings, starjar, etc.), useless EMS, triviality of previous game choices, "development" of certain characters (Udina, TIM, EDI, etc.), on-disk day 1 DLC, and a variety of other issues that have been discussed on BSN ad nauseum. Multiplayer is meh to me, I played it enough to promote one character to SP then got bored with it and haven't touched it since.

Overall my answer to the original question is no. IMO ME3 is a short and very average game by itself, and incredibly disappointing to me as an entry in the Mass Effect series. I still post here because I previously enjoyed Bioware's games and the ME series, and I like to add my "constructive criticism" to the criticism of others in the hopes that Bioware is listening and may straighten out its ways in future games. Even if none of my posts are read, at least I tried.

Yes.

There maybe somethings that I'm not too happy about. The ending & the lack of ME2 squadmates returning as squaddies being the two biggest things. But I can look past those & see a game that brought more fantastic memories. ME3 has a high chance of being my GOTY, though Assassin's Creed 3 is looking pretty good.
