I was gonna make a troll thread but this article will be just as fun to share!

http://www.gameinfor...d-the-game.aspx

Saving Earth and stopping the Reapers didn't seem appealing for most gamers it seems. In its five months since release, BioWare says 42 percent of players actually finished Mass Effect 3.

No wonder so many people aren't mad at Bioware! They didn't even see star kid!

As the article said, that's higher than either Dragon Age, and the first Mass Effect. I think it's due to the marketing campaign convincing people it was Gears of War, and all the shooter fans buying it then getting bored of all the talking.

"The developer says Mass Effect 1 only saw completion rates of 40 percent. Dragon Age: Origins was completed 36 percent while Dragon Age 2 was completed 41 percent."

That is some weird stuff. I have Witcher 2 to complete for few months though...

Given all the controversy, I'm surprised the completion rate isn't higher than ME2. I figured most people who bought the game would at least be curious. I guess there's YouTube.

That's actually not uncommon for games not to be finished, mostly.

They probably heard how bad it was and turned off their games after the speech with Anderson.

I wonder if the DO:O rates were scewed by people playing multiple Origins stories, but only finishing with 1 or 2 characters.

What are some other completion stats though?

I seem to remember completion stats for any game I've ever seen are always way lower than I would have thought.

I hated Mass Effect 3, but I still finished it, just sayin'................

That's what you get for advertising it as perfect place to start. I guess about 40% were people who at least played ME2 before.

Just my opinion.

I know a few ppl who got the game and got bored playing it in truth, as they didnt like the linear aspect of it when they bought it expecting an rpg similar to ME2, ahh well i did it once and once only........also i am part of the DA2 % as i got bored and tiresome of the same dungeons and 1 hub so went back to DA0....

This is fairly common with videogames.

As in the majority of people that play them rarely finish them. ME 2 had a similar stastic. 42% is pretty good all things considered.

Interesting. I completed all 3 multiple times. Ah well, guess that means I should have been spending time on more important things.

I'm surprised fewer players finished DAO than completed DA2.

Why do you think so? I loved the fade.

I think it is counted as 1 playthrough per game owner, no matter how many open characters you got. I created a LOT of DAO characters/Shepards that will never see the end.

There's something I'm missing...
Does it imply that many players haven't played the entire game yet (from the beginning to the ending) or does it mean that not every player is interested in getting every single achievement?
The latter makes more sense to me, given the percentage of DA:O and ME...

I think it was a wise move...

Man, I don't know how srs that was, and I don't have anything against Mr. Hudson, but that's f***ing funny.
