The developer says Mass Effect 1 only saw completion rates of 40 percent. Dragon Age: Origins was completed 36 percent while Dragon Age 2 was completed 41 percent.

The highest is ME2 with 56%

I bet all the people who didn't finish DA:O stopped at The Fade.

But the Fade was wasy, the f***ing Deep roads gave me so much trouble, why I only beat it once.

Best to save it for last of the four main quests, I think. I actually prefer Fade to battle for Redcliffe Village, most boring part of the game for me.

Big deal. ME1 had far worse than that.

Andraste's Temple was the most bored I've been in a video game since hunting down Keepers in ME1.

Unitl DA2, of course.  Side quests were like nails on chalkboard with those repeating maps.

What does it matter if they finished it? Sure they probably won't buy the next game but they spent the money to buy it in the first place. If a lot of people do that I guess it counts as a win for EA.

Saving Earth and stopping the Reapers didn't seem appealing for most gamers it seems. In its five months since release, BioWare says 42 percent of players actually finished Mass Effect 3.

No wonder so many people aren't mad at Bioware! They didn't even see star kid!

I know people who never finished it because of negative word of mouth. They didn't want the series ruined for them.

Although I highly doubt hose numbers are ever true.

Question: On launch day, I played to Mars, then started a new playthrough because I wanted to play through those missions again (I was hyped lol).

Would these statistics count that as an "unfinished" playthrough? If so, these statistics are untrustworthy.

How do they know how many completed the first Mass Effect? They didn't collect player data on the first one.

They probably heard how bad it was and turned off their games after the speech with Anderson.

no i think the multiplayer was more focused on by gamers instead of the single player

believe it or not there are people who pay 60 bucks for a game for just mp and it wouldnt suprise me at all with this not saying anything is wrong with it

Ghehe. What would we do without him?

42% of the players finishing the game is more than most games. I read that it is usually 10% and a decade ago 20%.

Why most people don't finish video games.

Define complete. Does this mean finish the campaign from beginning to end? Does this mean unlock all 1000 achievement points? What does it mean?

If it means 1000 achievement points I haven't finished ME1 or ME2 yet either. I haven't done an insane play of ME2 and I need to do 75 neural shocks in ME1.

How do they know if we finished the game or not? Do they just check the achievement? What about players who turned off the achievement status on-line? I'm sure there are PS3 and Xbox players who don't always connect to PSN and Xbox Live! respectively.

Besides, is one play through really a "completion" for games like these? I finished DAO with several characters and I still don't consider that I "completed" everything. Heck, I haven't even done the Dwarven origin yet (apparently there's a threesome in it?)...

As for ME3, I feel I'm more or less "completed" since I've gone through 6 characters with different decisions and moral stances.

(Spoilers: doesn't matter what your choices were, the endings for all of them suck)

It'll be the first of your choices.

There's no way 42% have unlocked all 1050 gamerscore avaliable.

That makes absolutely no sense. I can understand not finishing a game like Call of Duty. The single player experience isnt that great, but the multiplayer is a lot of fun, but why the hell would you buy a story based game and not finish it? Why waste your money like that?

because to the trigger finger shooter fans the mp is the selling point to them

id love to see the % of people recorded that played mp but i dont think bioware will do to possibly another backlash

either way they basicly kind of are in a rut when it comes to the hardcore fan base of theres

Here's a Crazy idea, maybe they didn't like it?

By the end I was grinding my way through it and even without the Ending issues, I could never enjoy it for a second time

There are plenty of posts listing out issues within the game that could turn people off depending on their own views.

The average gamer rarely finishes a game. They play for a while. Get distracted by something (real life is a possibility) sit the game down, and simply never return to it. Or they get bored.

Juding by Origins low completion score I would lay the blame on the Fade or Deep Road though.
