When you talk to Morrigan and ask her about Flemeth(I think it's something alon the lines of "Is your mother really what she seems to be?") Morrigan can tell you Flemeth's story, and after it's done, she aska you of your own mother. Now, from the orgin story, we now that the City Elf's mother was a "cunning rouge" as they put it, was quite adept at swordplay(as she taught your character what she knew), and was good enough to have caught the eye of Duncan as a possible recruit for the Grey Wardens. Then why, when Morrigan asks, are we only given the canned responses of

1. "My mother died when I was born"(even though that isn't the truth)
2. "There is nothing really to say about her"(even though it is quite the opposite)
3. "I love her. What else do you need to know?"(the only problem I have with this one is its tense of the word "love" it should have been "I loved her.")
4. "Keep your curiosity to yourself"

Now, two out of those options can remain the same(3 & 4) but 1 & 2 should have been different, as the City Elf's mother seemed interesting and had some things worth noting about her that you could have mentioned, instead, you can say nothing about her. And I'm pretty sure these are just generic responses that all characters have, there should be some variation.

*yes, I am aware that this game is 3 years old, I just got it again and am replaying it.

Very true, I think its the same with the magic, because you know her until you were sent to the circle.

Yeah, when I was playing as a City Elf and that happened, I was a bit annoyed - Obviously Tabris' mother survived long enough to teach them combat skills, and we know she was alive atleast 5 years before the events of Origins. It would have been nice to have something like "My mother was almost recruited to be a Grey Warden" or something like that. :c

Thought it was weird when she asked a DN or Mage that question, because it's pretty hard when you have no idea who your mother was.

Bioware sorta skimped on a lot of extra conversation options that should have been included with regards to being from either of the elf or dwarf origins, I think.

Generally I picked that "I loved her......" line most of the time because aside from the human noble, most of the other origins had very little info about their parents (You knew who your father was in the dwarf noble origin, but not your mother I think).
