Was playing U/U/G on my Shadow today. Got Cerberus/Condor. Seemed fairly normal match until wave Four when a pair of Phantoms appeared. Not a 4 Phantom Congo line like you expect at wave Six+, just two of them. Rest of the match seemed normal (Mind you haven't played a TON of gold vs Cerberus) and the Phantoms dind't appear until wave Six again.
Anyone else notice something like this? Enemies spawning before they should?

I don't know... I was playing Gold Cerberus on London yesterday for a last minute Commedation Pack, and I saw a three Phantom Congo line. I didn't think that was normal, but I don't have much experience with Cerberus in open areas like that...

Yes of course, there is more of everything on Gold! Atlas start spawning on wave 3 and phantoms start spawining on wave 4. Then I'm pretty sure they keep spawning consistently up until wave 6 where you will get a phantom army.
I once saw literally a dozen phantom spawn right infront of me on FB Ghost. Being a Krogan sentinel, I immediately proceed to shat my pants, try take out missile but they were too fast. My teammates try to come to revive but then they shat their pants. Don't have to explain how that match turned out.
I only play on gold now, yet the very sight of one phantom still chill me to the bones.

Firebase Reactor, Gold, wave 10 objective - hack on platform in front of extraction zone.
Phantoms. Yes, they're supposed to keep spawning until the objective is complete. Trouble is, they didn't have to make their way through the level to get to us. They spawned at the base of the ladder and the top of the stairs, hitting us from both sides. We couldn't focus on taking one down with the other one cutting through us like butter from behind. We couldn't get a missile off and finish reviving the fallen before the next pair were on top of us.
Not fair. Not fun. There's 'challenging', and then there's bul- nonsense. That was nonsense.

It definitely feels like it.
And if you don't at least have one person on your team who can deal with a Phantom easily, whether it be with powers or guns, then it's going to be a long match. Or a very short one.

Yes,has something to do with the wave budget. Its better to kill the mooks around and only kill Phantom if its unevitable.Tallgeese_VII wrote...

Thats the standard cerb gold routine. Level 1 to 3 and 5 have no phantoms. I read sonewhere that only four spawn at a time. There is this enemy budget thing somewhere here, gist of it is avoid killing bosses and take out mooks first.
Well for phantoms, they will flank you and they dont hesitate in flanking all by themselves. Lots of ways to deal with them in the forum. Best bet is the geth shotty. I tried the falcon but it is too unreliable due to the slow fire rate. Trust me, they wont be a problem once you know how to deal with them.

Huh, thought Phantoms didn't spawn until wave 6 in Gold (In which you'd get 4+ at a time then). Nice spread sheet there though. Still says only 1 Phantom max though. There was definitely at least 2 Phantoms, and I'm pretty sure there was more than 2 at a time from waves 6-9.
