I've never had recoil problems with the gun. AP + Heat Sink all the way!
I generally run those Mods as well. I think people would have less issues with the recoil if they remembered they have a foregrip they can use.

I just aim down. It's not too hard to control. The Harrier in cover however...Invellous wrote...

Not so much a buff as an increase in options.

I just hip-fire it myself.

This.
Mostly I use this weapon as a great backup with ULM it's very little weight penalty. I don't often need to take a heat sink mod in my primary weapon, so if I happen to run out of ammo I can swithch to a viable back up for a bit. It still works great without stbility, like Boom said aim down. For instance: with ULM & AP barrel against a Banshee you can start firing between her boobs and finish on her face! Repaet as often as it takes (or as often as you can)

I usually use it with HV Barrel and Recoil Mods, because I use it on squishier classes where gunplay is secondary to powers. I don't need to prolong engagements by adding Heatsink and more recoil.

The locust does no real damage on gold without consumables. Hell it does no real damage with consumables. If you're just power spamming and firing occasionally you probably have no need of the weapon in any case but I prefer to do damage during CD. Slap on the stability mod on the hurricane with ULMs and a pistol of your choice with ULM, you'll still have 200% CD or very close and can do some real damage during CD with your weapon. Hipfiring the hurricane seems to help stabilityKiraTsukasa wrote...

On what?.... Bronze with level IV consumables?
The locust is nowhere near as good as the hurricane in any way other than recoil. Which can be fixed with an amp or mod. [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/uncertain.png[/smilie]
I prefer the way the Locust operates over the Hurricane. Sure, I could "fix" the Hurricane with different gears and consumables... Or I could use consumables to increase my biotic/tech damage or cooldowns or shields. I'm not going to waste the space by fixing something I don't like when there's something I do like readily available. If you want to do that and use the Hurricane anyway, I won't stop you or berate you for it. I respect that you have your own playstyle, so please respect that I have my own as well.

If you just like the Locust for its light weight, why not just carry a Tempest, Phalanx or Carnifex?KiraTsukasa wrote...

The Locust can barely kill on Bronze, it's utterly useless without a ton of consumables on Gold+. Low weight is pretty much the dumbest reason to carry a specific weapon, because there are 3-4 other weapons that weigh the same or less and might be better.

Stabilization + scope = Headshots, all shots.

It takes two clips to kill an assault trooper on silver with headshots. What in the damn beejezzus use is the weapon on gold? The focused fire of four locusts probably couldn't take down four atlases on the kill objective waves of gold without debuffing the enemy or using powers on them in the alotted time.buthane22 wrote...

also 50% armor weaknes (from cryo or warp effect for example) make hb hurricane more effective than ap barrel.
still cover penetration helps a lot on guardians and reapers, mostly because of brute plate armor and ravager soft points.
ap barrel gives just a choice. it's possible to use different ammo powers or be still effective without any.

First there is the recoil, but also the low clip capacity (it takes 2 bullets per shot so it's actually a 20 bullet clip), the bad accuracy with this horrible bullet spread and it's also pretty heavy for an SMG.
Sure the new mods are nice, but you just don't have enough mod slots to compensate for all this. Slapping an HVB or an extended barrel mod on the hurricane is out of question if you want to compensate for the rest, and even then you'll only have 2 drawbacks covered. I prefer the Hornet on most classes personally. But the hurricane is great on geths, turians and destroyer.

Hurricane was known to be one of the best weapon in whole ME3 MP since the launch.
Wait, what? What alternate universe are you living in? The gun was rather garbage at launch. It was probably after the second or third buff that people started considering it good. I remember a whole ton of threads saying that the Valiant was the only worthwhile promo weapon, and that the Hurricane was only decent on a Turian Soldier!
