PC Co-op is very very quiet. Mostly don't use voice chats. I like that, but sometimes I just feel like shouting at the screen when some of them derp around and not getting objectives done.

The vast majority of threads complaining about the community turn out to be coming from Xbox players. Conversely, I have encountered practically zero rudeness from other players on PC. There are a minimal number of conclusions one can come to given these facts.

You must not get out very often if you can't go to your local Wal-Mart and quickly figure out that the world in general is full of dirtbags.

I say we play it Co-op, I mean the 2 player game isnt there for nothing.

I play without a mic...because I broke two of them out of frustration due to ignorant/self-absorbed people like in op's case(though much worse at times), and since I don't promote my awesome builds my N7 level is obscenely low. Now I just get kicked cause I can't tell people that not only have I been playing this game since the demo(even preordered the game), but was one of many holding out hope for something more challenging than gold!...I can't even get a gold match started anymore!!!!

I think it's a problem with the internet as a whole. Some of the people who act like total douchebags online would be disgusted to see that behavior in real life. I stopped playing COD on live because of absolute crap that spewed out of peoples mouths while I'm just trying to have fun playing a game. From my experience, the ME3 multiplayer community is not near as bad as COD or even Halo. Still, ME3 online has its fair share of douchebags.

Oh, the usual pointwhoring, not reviving players who fall right beside them, not helping with objectives because of said pointwhoring. Insulting my gender (I'm a girl, so logically I suck at this game, even when my score is tens of thousands of points higher than the point****r's). Insulting my N7 ("Oh, shes a 4700+ level, she has no life and eats pizza all day, dur dur"). Little ghetto-fied kids getting all worked up over their mic and shouting said insults.

You know, a usual day for Xbox randoms.

I think the reason why its the xbox community is because everytime something happens anything at all, people tend to think its worthy of posting. You don't see much from the pc and ps3 side because Not everything is worth a thread topic. as far as being kicked, I've had my fair share of being kicked, even when I'm the right class for the team. If im doing a gold run, its usually on fbw which means, if i want less hassle I bring my Salarian Engineer (even if i hate it) and im set. I really don't need super guns or anything of the sort, I just need decoy.

 I prefer recharge as well, because I actually use my powers way more than my gun. So i carry an arc pistol x just because its light and a powerful handgun. Sometimes I am kicked as soon as i enter a room. sometimes I am not. I tend to hang with people who know me. But if they aren't on, then there isn't anything I can do but play with randoms. From my personal Experience though?, I've been kicked way more because of my n7 ranking than my gear setup. But i could careless. it's their loss if that's all they care about. I'm here to make money, I know my job and i do it just fine.

I just avoid platinum pugging like the plague. Every single time I've tried has been one of three scenarios:

Had people rage quit before wave 3 or 6.
The people would be terrible and would end up getting me killed trying to keep them alive.
Would have one or two awesome players and the other one or two would be terrible and have us get killed trying to rez them.

I by no means mean to say that I'm some godlike player at this game, though I can hold my own if needed, but it's just not worth the frustration of dealing with terrible pugs in U/U/P.

Or you could be smart about it and recognize that 2.39 million games were sold for the 360 vs. 0.88 and 0.56 games for the PS3 and PC respectively. If the majority of discussions about literally ANY aspect of the game weren't from Xbox users, it'd actually be kind of weird.

HA! last night we had a match....and we wanted to kick a N7 200-something from a gold match... not cuz of N7 but cuz the setup was crap! a avenger x on gold? on a demolisher? with basically no gear? we had two votes to kick but last dude didnt want to cuz he was playing CaptainSaveAHoe.....cuz the one we were trying to kick turned out to be a "woman." I didnt know cuz i was in a chat party....HER SETUP STUNK...and she didnt even break 25000 on gold! I would have kicked even if it was a dude (and im sure if it was a dude...3rd guy would have voted too)...I DONT DISCRIMINATE....DUMAS IS DUMAS.

I still love the reactions I get to my N7 (6952 Currently.)

They range from compliments, to insults to outright crazy. All of which make me grin like a madman regardless, because I am a self confessed attention **** and I have a large ego which is pretty difficult to deflate.

I too have met some super cool peeps on xbl. I would have got this game on the PC but........Bioware didnt put xbox360 controller support in. Keyboard and mouse is a no go for me. Maybe if Mass Effect 4 comes out? Please put xbox360 controller support in.

Anyway I too get a lot of horrible xbox gamers in public matches. I guess thats the way it is.

Hey, I just did Full Extraction FBWGG earlier today on XBL with my Salarian Eng rocking an Avenger X.   N7 30ish.  I got kicked for the first time on XBL yesterday when I was still at Level 18 and N7 23 and I tried to join a FBWGG game.

Of course, I only came in 3rd place scorewise, but I pulled my weight (with only 3 Cobras and 2 of everything else), using my decoy to pull aggro and reviving (although I kept mistiming my e-drain cooldown so sometimes my teammate would get curbstomped like American History X a fraction of a second before my e-drain went off ).  The second time we did it though, only one of us extracted, but still, we got the credits and the exp.

As for 'white knight'-ing girl gamers: on the one hand, I'd like to see more female gamers and I'm always happy to help try to make the community more welcoming of them, especially the newbies, in part because the gaming community can often be very sexist and misogynistic, but on the other hand, I don't want to do any needless handholding because 1) it's condescending, 2) doesn't help them learn, 3) they probably don't even need the help.
