Hey, I just did Full Extraction FBWGG earlier today on XBL with my Salarian Eng rocking an Avenger X.   N7 30ish.  I got kicked for the first time on XBL yesterday when I was still at Level 18 and N7 23 and I tried to join a FBWGG game.

Of course, I only came in 3rd place scorewise, but I pulled my weight (with only 3 Cobras and 2 of everything else), using my decoy to pull aggro and reviving (although I kept mistiming my e-drain cooldown so sometimes my teammate would get curbstomped like American History X a fraction of a second before my e-drain went off ).  The second time we did it though, only one of us extracted, but still, we got the credits and the exp.

As for 'white knight'-ing girl gamers: on the one hand, I'd like to see more female gamers and I'm always happy to help try to make the community more welcoming of them, especially the newbies, in part because the gaming community can often be very sexist and misogynistic, but on the other hand, I don't want to do any needless handholding because 1) it's condescending, 2) doesn't help them learn, 3) they probably don't even need the help.

Amen. and i was thinking she may have been stinking up the place on perhaps....which would have made the whole situation worse.  And yeah...i have seen some gamers that happened to be women (female) that were extremely badass (and of course the fair share of those that suck and everything in the middle)....most of them i met on Left 4 Dead...which i believe has/had a rather large percentage of female gamers.

but she had decent gear/weapons....just chose not to use it...cuz she came him as a Krogan Sentinel with a Typhoon I and a Piranha II i think...but went with a Avenger X and Hurricane I. so um...yeah.

and to be honest....i probably would have voted to kick you too...but a salarian engie on FBWGG...regardless of gear and weapons...kinda cake. decoy and energy drain...spam ahoy!

I have never had problems of this magnitude, then again I avoid any lobbys that call for kicks on players that have decent loadouts, because that usually means I may find myself on the chopping block once their out and I dont want my time to be wasted.

I recon your Xbox will have to be replaced a great many times before it remotely approaches the grapics that my (not even top of the line) PC is able to pull off. And if i keep playing games that are limited to fit into consoles too, it will be a long time before i have to replace anything...

And to call something "economically superior" you have to consider its applications: Xbox is a toy; PC is a workhorse. It being superior at playing games with a few minor tweaks is a merely a side effect.

I refuse to play Platinum PUGs. After only running into entire groups trying to camp every single time (which I won't do) and usually wiping because the 3 of them couldn't handle themselves while I ran around killing it just wasn't worth it. Gold? I have no issue letting anyone stay since I can carry if need be (I prefer not to, but it happens) and I PUG it pretty often.

For those of you that are tired of PUG Gold/Platinum games, check out the Team AreleX Speed Run group. There are about 150 members (around 20 or so fairly active) that are some of the best players on Xbox. Nobody is rude (those who have been are no longer members of it) and all of our veteran members are very helpful. We do Glacier speed runs (also give lessons on it to players new to it), themed runs (search "Too Hot to Handle" or "Defend the Homeworld" on youtube), will be doing an in group speed run tournament, etc.

PC was the original... so to speak... but that gives you no right to bash us Consolers. I have both, but my PC isn't a super rig because I don't have the money for it, Consoles are economy-able and can function just fine.

Sure there's differences, you can mod, high graphics, whatever but honestly... don't bash. Some people don't have the patience to build a super rig, have the money or just want to play hardcore on a more friendlier device.

If you can't tolerate, I'd be most honorable to guide you to the nearest airlock.

Most PUGs tend to be this way and I often PUG without a mic unless others are talking about the game or I run into one of the rare good PUGs and want to try to warn them so I don't stay in solo mode.

This operation weekend was playing with friends and one random, fourth friend wanted to join and random was done, random leaves, Leader switches to Private, but alas, another random got in due to lag, had to boot him. 2 mins roll by, I get spammed with disgusting messages. So finally I get peeved and return his messages. Something like...


"listen you bleep, we didn't bleeping boot you because your a bleeping demolisher" ect ect ect then finished with "glad we did boot you, as you are an bleeping ***hole"

Out of the times I have had a situation like this I have only had a couple people rage message me. My first reply is usually to explain there is no need for childish messages and that I only kicked to make room for a friend. After that I can get very rude as well as with someone who intentionally griefs in the game before, so I vote to kick in the lobby and they message me asking if I am mad. Sorry, but if I were mad I would have ended the game to where they could not restart the wave as I was hosting and not just waited to put a kick on them.

Xbox is VERY hit or miss in my opinion (been playing MP on it for 5 years now). Some people are amazingly cool and you want to add them right away to your friends list, others make you wish you saw the person in real life since many of them would never act that the way they do to a person that could see and reach them.

Stats, money and everything aside, i am making nothing more than a humerous reference to a debate that has been going on for years on the internet. I am not by any means an intolerant person, but sometimes the stereotypes just confirm themselves... A funny anecdote:

I was visiting a friend, as he was playing ME3 MP on his Xbox 360. The game started up, and i was about to make a comment about the graphics on a 46 inch screen, when someone on the team broke the silence with a quite offencive remark regarding another team mates performance. This was on wave 3 (and we all know that you can always accurately predict a players performance that early in the game). Said person responded in the same tone, a i was absolutely stunnded how fast this evolved. If only they would have faught the enemy as fiercely as they were eachother (and the last team member that joined in for no apparent reason), they would have been done 10 minutes flat.

I asked my friend "Whats up with the nagging?". His response: "Dude, thats nothing."

I'll refer to the anecdote i just posted. I am not stranger to discussions, but i was absolutely stunned seeing how those kids (and yes, they were very much kids) were talking to eachother in that game.

On PC i have never experienced anyhting that remotely resembles that, and i dont think that it has anyhitng to do with elitism of any kind, but more likely that consoles and PC's are targeted a very different segments.

Thanks to my N7 480, most people tend to leave me alone and see how I play before deciding what to do with me. I have gotten a few choice comments from people who are a few thousand levels above me and I'm equipping better weapons and gear. I don't see many kicks before the game anymore, but several after even though I work with the group and consistently do well. People are the way they are...best to just move along and not think about it. Or you can post a thread like I did using the Dark Knight quote.....

I hate to say it but I'll point the nasty truth out. Playing on pc implies you have the wealth or live with someone who has the wealth to buy a on average $1000 USD machine, often more than that especially if it is a laptop. This opposed to xboxes you can get for $250 or less if used. The socio economic status associated with the means to make that kind of comfort purchase can tell you a lot about a person (not all of it good).

I play on xbox though.

Playing one match of Counterstrike: Source on Noobgalore's Office server will quickly disabuse you of the notion that PC players are on average more mature than XBLers. ;P  Some of the conversations/arguments/insults on there make XBL seem tame by comparison, despite NG's rules against racism (they're apparently okay with a whole range of other types of discrimination though, which is pretty offensive and yet... I still played there.  I have to admit, I stayed for the hilariously offensive yet non-discriminatory conversations on there which occurred from time to time, although didn't use my mic much).

I actually have had very few problems with XBL despite playing competitive Halo: Reach multiplayer (Arena, MLG, Slayer Pro): most people don't seem to talk at all.  Or maybe they can't because they got banned from using chat, I don't know (I see a lot of auto-muted players on there).   The few people I've heard using chat on there seemed pretty nice (I think I added some of them as friends).  Of course, I just started playing CoD: MW3 and I'm sure I'll encounter all those horrendous XBLers that I've heard so much about as soon as I start playing multiplayer. ;P  I also got MW3 for PC (both on sale last week) so I guess I'll get a chance to compare communities on what I've heard is one of the worst multiplayer experiences in the gaming world in terms of cheating, cheesing, whining, insulting, flaming, etc. ;P

But ME3 for PC, I could probably count on the fingers of one hand the number of people I've heard talking on there... and most of them were either Russian or French.
