its just an awesome spell. great damage, very disruptive of enemy groups. cool graphics. its also the only AoE spell in the game with long range and instant cast time. really good stuff.

This. And fireball has a short cooldown so it can be used several times on large fights or fights with waves of adds.
A close second is Sleep+Waking nightmare. Because if I can't totally destroy the enemy I can at least have them turn on one another and they can destroy themselves.

My favorite spell is Stinging Swarm. I like the animation and natural feel it has.

- Fireball. CC and AoE damage. Short cooldown.
- Group Heal. Like heal, but for a whole group. Amazing spell.
- Blood Wound. Best CC in the game, though it really is too bad you have to be in Blood Magic mode to use it (and of course they "forgot" to mention this in the spell description...).
- Cone of Cold. It's good only because of the low cooldown. Otherwise it's not as good as people say it is, and should not have been nerfed (it works what, 1 second, on a boss, pitiful).
- Force Field. Grabbed? Force Field. Curse of Mortality? Force Field. Too much aggro? Force Field. Need more CC? Force Field. This spell is always helpful.

Cone of Cold and Stonefist (or Shale's slam) for a Shatter to remember.

Crushing Prison! Aside from the delicious Force Field combo, it's arguably the best single target disable - it prevents all movement and activity, even for bosses and stun immunes, it lets you keep dealing damage, AND it deals damage of its own! It's good that this skill is tier 4, because even still I get it on most of my Mages.
Um, Crushing Prison does not disable orange (boss) level enemies.

My favorite spell Combo - Blood Wound (the DoT really helps triggering da Bomb) + Virulent Walking Bomb
the enemys left are mostly elites so -> Crushing Prison, battle won

What difficulty are you playing on? I've never seen an orange mob be disabled by CP. Even some yellows are immune to its stun, it just acts as a dot.

I think what he is trying to say is. On mobs that will not be disabled by CP it does at least some damage...

1.Repulsion glypht. Versatile, great to survive and great to thrown enemies to the inferno behind them. Protect the mage but can also protect other's party's members
2.Inferno (great in close rooms with entry closed by a repulsion glypth, or to send greetins to archers or mages behind lines)
3.Curse symbols (great great help against powefull enemies)
