Because they don't know how much the gamers are familiar with the history of Knight Templar, Jaques d Molay, Inquisition and French Revolution....
And so they try to fish out...if gamers today are from smartest people on earth who study history and care for conspiracy theories sure they can easily bust it up and Bioware will goes into a loooong debatable Illuminati agent....and that is not good for Bioware
There are a lot of game developers out there being busted up, gamers today are not just gamers...even worse if someone make it a religious or non religious campaign for not buying the product due to "subliminal satanic freemsonic Illuminati thingies" in it...there is silent campaign of awareness all over the world....

why do you guys think they hold up for so long with no hints at all?

...Or they're just being careful given the reception of DA2.

This. I think you may be looking into this a tad too much, Nizaris1.

Let's cool it on the Asunder spoilers, pleaseI haven't had a chance to read it yet.
You're in a thread about spoilers in the next game. If you don't want spoilers you're in the wrong place.

I don't mind potential spoilers for an unreleased Dragon Age game. I do mind spoilers for a book that I haven't read yet from a post of a person who isn't even courteous enough to throw up a spoiler tag, and then to top it all off be a jerk about it.

This is a spoiler thread. The books are canon. If you don't want spoilers then avoid spoiler threads.

You could always just be more considerate, but obviously that's too difficult so I'll exit our conversation.BrotherWarth wrote...

And I go by TV rules in this regard. "If it's been out long enough to be released on DVD then talking about it isn't spoilers." The book has been out for a good long while.

I'm not convinced that Sera would be very likeable, but then that's what some players have been asking for, and her connections could lead to some interesting quests.
I'm also not sure I'm interested in a tal-vashoth who's so far removed from the Qun that he's practically human. I really like having someone so blunt and unique in their values in the party.

I really like the idea, the fact that he is so different from the usual is what would make him so interesting in the first place (for me anywaysbrushyourteeth wrote...

We already had Sten. Why repeat it?
Aw, re-read - you'll see that I meant I'd like to have a kossith who still has some connection to his/her roots, not another Sten. Though I did love Sten and really couldn't get enough of him.

I'm sure I'd end up liking him - but if you'd be able to squeeze his personality seamlessly into a human, elf, or dwarf, I'd feel like I'd been cheated out of a unique perspective is all.DarthChicken wrote...

I HATE INQUISITORS. Cant we have different origins, i want to be a mage for crying out loud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't really see them cutting the option of being a mage out of the game, although I'm guessing we're stuck as humans again and can't pick a different race.
