Are people happy that the Krysae is now junk status?

Xcalizor has a video where does pretty well on FBW/Geth/Plat with it. On a whim, I aped his build and scored 2nd on a similar run. IMHO, it's not quite junk.

To be perfectly honest, I would rather see pre-nerf Krysaes than Locusts and Geth SMGs on Gold. I don't understand why people still bring guns like these on higher difficulties.

I saw that video and he said it was pre-nerf. Invalid to this topic.

Except for the second part.

It's before the nerf.

Nobody likes hearing it but ME3 needed to retain class exclusive weapons. This Krysae, infiltrator, nerf fiasco, never would have occurred. Krysae was more like a soldier/sentinel sniper rifle and should never have been in an infiltrator's hands.

Gotta love the overreaction when anything people use gets a nerf. It's less useful now, but it's not useless. I still do well enough with it on Gold when I feel like giving it a whirl, and not on Infiltrators or the Destroyer either.

The trick is to know what it's for. It's not a boss-destroying artillery cannon made of nuclear explosions, it's a crowd damaging blanket weapon used for groups and applying ammo powers in a wide range. Of course it's not useful on Platinum, because that's a boss rush. It's for taking out soft targets, not armored everything. Ironic given it's supposed to be an anti-materiel rifle but that's not the point.

It's not dead, it's just brought down a few pegs. There's a difference.

Why bother? There are far better weapons and powers for crowd control.

Also probably wouldn't have been as bad if the Krysae was Ultra Rare instead of whatever it is now.  Powerful scoped rocket launcher is OP, but one that rarely ever appears?  Sounds better to me.

Krysae snipers having to actually work for their kills now? Oh, no!

Err, nope. I think you will find that Krysae snipers all moved onto the Piranha X for their easy kills Posted Image

And that too, will be nerfed soon. =]

Was already nerfed.

Exactly, but I never dream something impossible.

Exclusive weapon idea may damage game itself, kill creation.

The only thing we can speak our mind it maybe how to buff soilder class to make them immused from some deadly nerf.

Krysea is another thorn in my side and a nail in the game coffin for me.

Every time a DLC is announced, I will put cash in to support the game as I appreciate the new content, at the same time I am hoping to unlock the new weapons and it has worked everytime in combination with credits saved. I found the Krysae allowed me to play higher levels with characters that were weak.

So then the nerfs start and the first few were livable, now the gun which I feel I invested in to get is useless on Silver, Gold and Plat. I see this as a cycle of new items and it`s pretty frustrating so I simply won`t place as cash into the game for new contant any longer until I see stability and at least some of the game breaking glitches fixed,

It wasn't a sniper rifle, it was a grenade launcher with a built in scope. I'm glad it's dead and buried.

It's technically an anti-materiel rifle, not a sniping rifle.

I think they should have just reduced the ammo capacity and kept the damage high; kinda like an AOE Widow, just with less damage.

Now, it's...closer to the Falcon than an anti-materiel rifle.

I have not seen the krysae one time since the big nerf, in any match.

Weapons which ware easy to use and cause good damage will always be target for nerf callers as most of them either don't like to use it or despise others using it, even though this is a co-op game afterall.

A lot of nerfs calls have been brought up all in the name of balance.
What is balance then, if you may ask?

The ideal balance situation which these nerfers ask for will only happen if:
- Every single character class uses exactly the same skills with the same damage.
- Every single weapons also has the same property and also deals the same set of damage as skills.
- Every single map/enemy type also has the same layout/deals the same damage.

Now ask yourself, will you be buying said game if this was true?
There can never be true balance if there are to be variety and uniqueness in a game.
Both of them are counter-active to each other.

I wonder how long it'll take before these nerf-callers can understand this, or if they ever will...

Played a Gold match the other day with 2 Krysae users. Match was over in 15 minutes. Game isn't meant for one person to dominate the field with one weapon or class for that matter. Fit it into a team, like it should be, it does the job it's meant to do. Sorry to those that A) You cant use it as a crutch to play higher difficulty levels (apparently you weren't ready to begin with) and B) The ability to wipe spawn points out without even aiming and with a few shots is no longer available.

You'll just need to find something else to top the boards with to brag about. Since all the points and credits are shared, I look forward to it.

I use it to good effect in gold. I have a friend who does well with it in platinum. He keeps the phantoms/hunters/marauders/etc. off of us while we kill bosses. Admittedly this is on an infiltrator (Salarian, geth would do even more damage), but if you're finding it useless it's because you're doing it wrong.

And yes, this is post-nerf.

Eventually we will get to the point where everything is a pile of **** thanks to nerfing. After all if a shotgun is nerfed then another shotgun seems better which means people will moan and get that nerfed, eventually chaining to an unplayable game... also why do people even complain about the power of weapons ON A CO-OP GAME, its not meant to be competitive, if someone has a beastly gun then that helps your team, if this game was competitive, sure nerf it because its needs to be fair, but co-op NEEDS some powerful but rare weapons so that you can make progress, if everything becomes **** then no progress can be made

Admittedly, I'm not a Krysae expert, I rarely use the gun, but the last time I took it on Platinum, I felt that the RoF nerf really hurt the weapon.

To be honest, on Gold, I'll do better with a Raptor than with a Krysae. The Krysae, while still viable for Gold/Plat, feels like an uncommon weapon.

I love when people have no clue what the definition of co-op is. I'll give you guys a hint though. It DOESN'T mean that one weapon or class should be over powered enough to do the job for me. It should be balanced enough where, wait for it now, the 4 man team should work cooperatively (co-op), to achieve victory.

Sheesh. This is like the dweebs who think Novaguards should run amok on Gold/Platinum like they do on Bronze/Silver. No people. Just no. That's not co-op. I play this game to be part of a team and not have one person doing the job AND, hahaha, thinking I shoud shut up and enjoy the easy credits.

If I want easy, I'll go camp spawn points in CoD and brag about my leet skills.

I'm glad you took the time to watch the video but completely neglected the description on that very same video: 'but it still works well after the nerf'.

Luckily for you I was in the mood to prove the people who think this gun is worthless wrong.

I miss the krysae for only one reason: it let me fight fire (cheap) with fire (cheap). I speak of phantoms, obviously.

People here calling it a support weapon don't get how weapons work. Weapons are for killing ****. Making phantoms take two steps back instead of cartwheeling is great and all, but if it takes 3 shots to kill a cannibal on bronze, why would any sane person take it over something that can actually kill stuff?

So, by that stupid logic, is the post-nerf Krysae useful in the hands of a Soldier/Sentinel class? On Platinum?

Hey xcal ;)
Never said the gun was worthless, my man. Just that in the video you were using it pre-nerf is all.
