I can't see EA announcing DA3 in December and then releasing in the Spring- thats too soon.  Summer? Summer is a dead zone for big game releases. That leaves Fall...which is post E3 when new consoles will be hogging up all the news.

I'm guessing its possible they release DA3 on nextgen and on existing consoles. I imagine many games end up doing that next Fall. The install base on existing consoles is too big to ignore.

My purchase of a next gen xbox is totally riding on which xbox Da3 is released on but it seems very unlikely that it'll be released solely for next gen since they're coding the game for existing consoles now.

I've already decided to buy the PS4 as soon as it comes out.  I've been on the PS3 40GB for the last five years, and its processing speed is slow in dlc is bad, but worse!  all the patching, upgrades and just the dlc itself has taken up quite a bit of space.  I have to resort to deleting as many things as possible that I'm sure I won't be playing for a while.  Of course, I'll still have my original PS3 to play DA3 on, but that will be the last game for that console that I will purchase.

That's exactly what will happen. New consoles will get what the PC versions sees. A higher resolution game with high-res textures and high AA.

I think most publishers/devs are going to be slow to truly adopt the new hardware next gen. Not until they see a big growth in the install bases. So, you're probably only going to see HD upgrades for games the first few years into that cycle. Especially considering how high game development costs now...

They're not going to stop making games on 360/PS3 until consumers stop buying. That or Sony/M$ force publishers to adopt their new systems and cut support off on the old ones.

Aww man. I just read an article that the Xbox 720 would be out a year before the PS4. Okay, that just gives me more time to save my money.  Also, great point about why there aren't as many Xbox exclusives the last couple of years because they are getting ready for the big 720 debut with new exclusive IPs.

I'd love to get one at release but it would be a waste in my particular case since I only follow a few select game titles , another thing is I'd like to wait a bit to see if the 720 displays any hardware issues on release like its predecessors.But yeah, this'll probably also be the last game for the 360 since I'm predicting all major developers, including bioware will start developing next gen titles
