The only thing it reflects is your gear. Even then you don't know if they've stopped promoting.
N7 doesn't define skill, this has been over and done with many a time..

So, even though I can do well on gold with three incompetent players, I can't play it because my N7 rank (which means nothing)?
Your idea was invalidated the moment you thought N7 Rank means something. OP must have AIDS or something.

This would be a great way to kill what is left of the multiplayer community. You could maybe find one match every 10 hours. My N7 rank is well below 1000 and I have yet to be impressed by a player with higher rank than me on xbox, and compulsive playing of a game to get to 500 hours logged doesn't mean you are better than the person who just started-some people just stay bad while others have innate gaming ability. If you are having problems completing missions with pubs on gold and platinum, you are the one that is probably the weak link.

This is a terrible idea TC. I carry my team every now and then, and I am barely about 240 (I think).

I'm still attempting to understand how it is that N7 ranking means anything at all.. I just got out of a match and was smoked by a level 276 person, and my rating is 851..
But I mean seriously, you have people who rarely promote, then other's who promote just to get SP done quicker when they play it. So... whai post this again?

No. This is a stupid idea.
I have an N7 of 180, or something, solely because I don't want to promote. If I promoted, i'd probably be at about 800 by now. However, I only just moved from bronze to silver. Who's to say there aren't people the exact same, who are capable of beating your score into the ground on platinum.

Haha this is hilariously idiotic. According to your scale I shouldn't even be doing silvers, but I've been succeeding at golds since I was sub 100. Are you really so deluded that you think these numbers matter? Wait that was a stupid question of course you are.

N7 rank means very little to the overall skill of the player. I understand not wanting an rank 3 person in your team, but some people do not want to level their character up and enjoy playing on either Silver or Gold.
I am at 600 exactly, myself, and I have been playing since near when the game first came out. I do not want to reset my character class that I currently play as, just to meet the so called requirements to play on Gold.
And I am sure there are plenty of players who are N7 150 or something with the same skills as, say, a rank 6000 out there (just as an example).
Basically, all the N7 ranking system is are bragging rights. Nothing more, nothing less.
The only time I promote a character anymore is when it's a class I don't use gets to the max level because of Kits... though, granted, I will probably promote my class if my N7 Rank somehow stays on 666.
Talk about awkward. XD

LOL, I can't do Gold or Platinum with this settings. Anyway there is a nice option you can use, if you don't like the people you are playing with in a Public match; Its' name is "leaving the lobby".

That's retarded dude. My n7 has been and still is 600 and I have done platinum with full extraction about 10 times now, that's not including just completing the wave 10 cash round. Gold is all I do, and I do it with a friend who's rank is and has been 150. We usually play better and score higher than most players with a rank of 1,000+.
Rank is nothing but a number in this game, if you join a match and it turns out we have to carry you, we might ask you to leave. Nothing personal.
I'm not about to discriminate just by looking at a number, especially when it's already rough to get a decent full lobby for U/U/G (not FBWGG!).
The only time I'm ever inclined to judge somebody by their N7 is when I see anything under 70 join a gold match with lvl 1 gear and terrible lvl 1weapons,and even then I can usually explain politely without issues.

So, I wouldn't be able to play silver N7 420 while playing many many hours. I can carry some teams on gold with my N7 paladin and do my work on platinum... that's brilliant !
I can play anything you want on gold, I don't camp behind a desk, it's always unknown/unknown.
Skill =/= N7

Why not unlock silver by completing bronze and so on? So everybody who plays platinnum has at least once finished a gold match.

Why is this thread still alive?
And hey this is actually a good idea. Tons of people go "oh hey I only play Insanity in SP which means I'm instantly set for gold" on their very first MP match and get absolutely destroyed.

Silver should be accessible from N7 200, Gold at 500 and Platinum at 750. It's not the N7 level that's really the problem, is the amount of time and credits to unlock weapons and gear to an acceptable level.

People would instantly start promoting, if you got some kind of rewards for that. Like UR or tokens for extractions, but no, they just won't do it.

The thing is, I can get a high N7 ranking by just playing Bronze for hours and hours and promoting daily..
So if I did that I could join your Platinum game?? Cause I would be great at it, since my ranking would be high.. Bwahahahahaha
No, just... NO!! Schoo!!!

LOL that is the dumbest idea I've seen in a loooong time here on BSN. Good job OP. You just made yourself look like an utter tool. I bet you were one of the players that kicked my Quarian Engineer from a Silver game cause I was N7 390.
