I got to Wave 10 and we were so close to getting the extraction wave, and I didn't even have 600 N7. No points, OP. I award you no points.

Behave yourself!
I did not promote a character for the first 5 months unless the weekly challenge was to promote characters. Not  even when all we got was character cards, I did not see the point as I had the character builds I wanted. If I did promote I would be on a N7 rating of several thousand, as it stands it's only 740. So by your standards I'm not supposed to play gold or platinum.

I have an N7 rating of 300. I have every rare weapon unlocked and play almost nothing but u/u/g. So, no. N7 means nothing beyond 120.

Hahahahahahaha....

Wait you're serious?

Ignoring the ridiculous numbers you're throwing around, the fact skill and familiarity are hugely differing player to player And the fact that your gear = requirement is just plain broken due to the nature of RNG packs.

Actually lets revisit that last point, eligibility based on arsenal:
If you restrict players to lower difficulties due to "insufficient" equipment levels, how do they get around this? It would take huge levels of invested time to achieve just reaching Silver, as 15k payouts are not all that substantial when you're trying to build a gold level arsenal.

Also they purchased the product same as you, why are they restricted from that content? Not to mention, Platinum aside because it was added late, did YOU meet any of your level or time requirements before moving difficulties? I doubt it.

But apparently, players who come after you, are inferior, and need to be judged on a different scale now that you're more experienced.

Nope. Not a good idea at all.

I have a N7 of 6000+ and yet I have had the pleasure of doing many gold runs with friends whose N7 rank is lower than 200.

N7 Rank is not that meaningful and I strongly disagree with the OP. :(

Does that mean I get to play the secret Diamond difficulty because I'm N7 6958?

Or does it just mean I need to do something else other than ME3 MP? I'm saying the second option, even if I'm not ready to abide by my own advice.

Oh my god! Can you imagine how long it would take to make it to 500 with only bronze runs?!?! I would have deleted the game long before then.

I vote naturalnapalm off the island!

500 hours played in order to touch Platinum? I don't even have those kind of hours logged on competitive shooters which inevitably are a whole lot more complex than this horde mode, and that includes Unreal Tournament 3 where I was sat in the top 10 of the global leader boards for over 6 months.

It doesn't take anywhere near the amount of time suggested to become accustomed to the game.

OP's mistake was assuming having a high N7 actually matters. N7 120 should be the only requirement.

While I agree their should be a entry requirement for gold/platinum, N7 rank is not the answer. My rank is 510, and it will remain there unless they have another promotion weekend.

I'm N7 540 as of this morning. I only promote if I mess up on building a character and don't have any reset powers left.Oh, and 99% of all matches, I'm in first place. N7 has NOTHING to do with skill. The worst player in the game could promote character like crazy, be N7 5000 or something, and still not be ready for gold or platinum.

I recommend that in order to play the ME3 Multiplayer difficulty level that you have to have a N7 Ranking or have logged a certain number of hours actually playing multiplayer.   The way it is now will ruin the Public search if it hasen't already.   This magic number is tier driven, and this needs to be implemented soon in order to preserve the intergrity of the difficulties, they are being overrun with the wrong players and inexperience players, there needs to be some order because you can search for a Platinum match now and see a N7 1 level 1 attempting to play, doesn't make any sense to me.

Bronze - Any N7 Ranking (1 - Unlimited)  (0 - Hours Min)
Silver - N7 Ranking 500 (500 - Unlimited) (50-Hours Min)
Gold - N7 Ranking 900 (900 - Unlimited) (125 Hours Min)
Platinum - 1350 - and above (1350 - Unlimited) (500 Hours Min)

This will keep the difficulties appropriate to the players, people like myself can't stand being in a Platinum match with a N7 Ranking 100 or for that matter a level 1. on Platinum...it's ruining the Public Platinum searches. Please fix immediately., and this forces people to level up and try different characters, in a Platinum match you'll suggest that a player switch to a character that can better help the squad and the N7 Ranking 1 or 100 has not a clue what class or character we are talking about, I believe SIL, Gold, and especially Platinum should be EARNED not given away, just like the weapons and gear are earned through game play and packs, a new person should have something to look forward to, and not buy the game today and play PLATINUM 5 min later, it's suppose to be the hardest level, but with a N7 Ranking of 1 or 100, it's turning out to be a BIG JOKE. And this will keep the Missile Glitchers that are still out there on Bronze, because most of their N7 Ranking are under 250, so it lets them know if you want the good credits LEARN TO PLAY THE GAME....

If you disagree Bioware and think giving people Platinum and Gold that just bought the game then I suggest you do away with the EARNED PACKS, and just start giving away Harrier X and Black Widow X....since you believe that earned is not applicable to the actual game, but weapons and gear ARE.....DUUUUHHHH

Not sure if Troll or serious...and this comes from someone with a 5200+ N7 rating.

lmao, i cant believe this thread got 4 stars.

N7 and hours played means nothing. skill is skill.

By your logic I shouldn't even play Gold meanwhile this scrub that is a friend of a friend, who is a 2500 is allowed to play platinum.

Meanwhile I can solo gold and he probably can't even solo bronze.
