I would not mind that. Meaning that assuming the Warden will play a role in DA3 (very likely based on the ending of DA2), I would not mind having a random actor voicing my Warden.

Also, I'm assuming that unless they are using software that recognizes an approximate facial bult from DA:O, the Warden may appear masked.

It is, of course, possible and very likely that the new Protagonist of DA3 will learn that the Warden is dead (even if he/she survived the Blight), which will solve many issues for the development team. Warden may then be referenced through his equipment that the new hero may pick up, or codex entries (e.g. The Warden's Journal).

However, to reiterate, I would not mind having a generically voiced Warden if he/she is alive.

Why it is very likely that Warden will play any role, based on ending of DA2? What does the ending of DA2 had to do with the wardens please?

Well, assuming the warden does make a cameo in the Next Thing, ideally they'd use the same VAs as in DA:O. These ones. Meaning your warden's voice would the same as his/her original voice set. It would probably be very problematic to get those specific actors again though, so I would mind random actor guy/gal voicing my warden either.

Also, I think it's likely that the warden would indeed appear masked, as many PC players played as visually modded wardens.

I think you should go rewatch the DA2 ending. Particularly the part after the framed narrative ends. ;)

Well, the dalish voices in DA:O were north american and the dalish in DA2 (and I assume DA3) were welsh/irish, but for the humans, dwarves and city/circle-elves they'd be fine.

Ah, good point.

Please, Bioware, do not show my Warden in DA3.

I do not want a canon ending to my character's story. It is almost certain to disappoint, even if it doesn't disappoint me personally, someone else will find it lacking. DA:O was a role playing game, let us use our imaginations to decide where our characters end up after the end of the story.

I fully expect my Warden to have some impact in the next game. Voiced or silent, it doesn't matter. Just don't do the DA2 graphics that causes an uglification of my character. Use the original Origins graphics.

They aren't going to downgrade their engine, so the only option would be to import character models across engines, which - as far as I'm aware - is impossible or would render said models unrecognisable.

Speak for youself about downgrading graphics.  I'm in the group that says that they made DA look uglier with the upgraded graphics. Just comparing the Origin characters with the DA2 shows it all.

Good.

I do not want to see the Warden ever again.  The Warden's role and activities should be left free to the player's imagination.

Are we actually talking graphics or art style? I'd agree that DA II was uglier because of the new art style, but despite this the engine did receive an upgrade technically making DA II the graphically superior game.

I don't want to see or hear about what the Warden is doing again, but they still need to fix what they broke by saying the Warden disappeared.

Yeah, they can, if they're in the Fade

Oh, the expectation of having the warden return in DA3 is big. Remember that Origins sold 4.5 million, yet after it was announced that their warden won't return, presales were only 700,000. That's incredibly low for such a succesful game. That's also why people are saying they hope DA3 will be the sequel to Origins that they expected from DA2. Expect low sales again (even lower) if they don't get their warden.

Ok, artwork then.  But what was the point of tweaking the graphics engine if it makes you game look worse artisticly?  All the complaints by reviewers over DA graphics was why weren't they using the unreal3 engine that Mass Effect used.

I don't see any reason why the developers should voice The Warden, given the criticism regarding how little control many players felt with the voiced protagonist of Hawke, from his paraphrases to his auto-lines. For players who prefer a silent protagonist, I don't think voicing The Warden and removing our agency over a character we once had control over would make many people happy; it's more likely to cause a backlash.

Well, I personally hate mute characters. Mute characters make me feel like I'm playing KotOR or something (don't get me wrong, love the game just...yeah. Mute). It made replaying DA2 way funnier than replaying DAO (all those stupid auto lines that Sarcastic Hawke said made it easier to go through the whole game twice). And a talking main character makes it more epic (take Shepard for example)

Also, didn't Bioware said no more mute characters?

Well, it doesn't really matter. We probably aren't playing as the Warden ever again anyways (and we are probably not seeing him/her as NPC either) ^_^

Something to that effect yeah. All the more reason they shouldn't even contemplate going back and ruining our old silent protagonists.

The Warden is going to end up like Revan. I just know it.

You don't even have to go that far.

Anders was a Grey Warden. In most cases, he was made a Grey Warden by our DA:O PCs, which some could take to mean transfers a certain level of accountability for letting a mage skip out of Amaranthine...especially with a spirit the PC also helped to bring out of the Fade.

My warden was Takara Mahariel and she romanced Zevran. I was so dissapointed in Dragon age 2 to see Zevran run off to sexytime Isabella, not even mentioning once the warden. I know there is a bug in Playstation but still...anyways..

I would truly like to see where Takara is and how she sounds. I can leave it to my imagination but we all know our wardens are missing. By the epilogue we all know little of what happens. If I really had to use my imagination with where my warden was, it was that she was helping city elves find freedom with the dalish, while zevran was off teaching the elves how to fight.

I would truly love to hear my warden speak in a welsh accent, calling dragon ages protagnist, shemlen. I know what Takara is and how she acts, and I know I can trust Bioware to make that happen.
