After struggling to get started on NWN2, I'm really enjoying it now. The bugs are a pain, but the game itself is a lot of fun. I tried playing it before and just couldn't get into it. Maybe my problem stemmed from my utter disdain for NWN1. Well, anyway, fun game and I got the Mask of the Betrayer expansion too. Nice length and lots of fun.

I think if you are fully patched most of the remaining bugs have to do with game mechanics rather than game play. For example, things like feats or spells that don't work exactly as described. And then there are a few UI and AI related issues as well. If you describe some of the painful bugs you are experiencing you may get some advice on how to work around them or non-official patches you can download to address them. In MotB for example there is a bug that breaks a special weapon you can acquire, and so I've uploaded my own patch that corrects that.
There are a large number of campaigns and modules available for free download you can play as well as free hosted servers. Have fun.

Most of my issues have been crashes to desktop or bsod, which only happens when I play NWN2. Since installing MotB my crashing issues have mellowed, but we'll see since I only just recently installed MotB.

Desktop crashes from NWN2 are generally due to your video card overheating. Yes, it's a six year old game, but it's not so efficiently coded...

That's crazy if that is the problem. So far, since installing MotB, still no crashes to desktop. So, maybe they fixed something in the expansion. They claimed to in the manual, so maybe they're right.kamal_ wrote...

did you ever try to patch the game? sounds like you just installed and played vanilla nwn2 and now motb without the additional patches.

I was patched to 1.23 since the day I started playing.
