So I've hit a spot that I can't get through - Brecilian Forest the strange tombstone. I've tried the battle with the revenant et. al. many times (!) with multiple parties, and I can't get even close to winning it. Any suggestions? My PC is a mage (level 12) with fire and telekinesis spells, i've tried with lots of parties, but no luck. Ugh.

Had the same problem ... must have tried it like 25 times the first time around. In the end I gave up and came back when I was stronger (about lvl 15-ish).

your best bet is to come back at a higher level... Revenants are amongst the toughest foes for lowbie parties. Else, you need paralysing spells... petrify, crushing prison, even the ice (blast is it? i can never remember). Dirty tricks from your rogue may help... but if this is the one in the Ruins, the number of adds means you need to trash the Revenant quickly. so come back when your a higher level is my advice... you'll have to come back later on anyway for a couple of side quests...

I thought that might be the case - nothing has given me close to this much trouble so far, but after about 30 reloads, i think returning later is the better part of valour :-) thx.

Take another mage with you. Make sure you and that mage have the Cone of Cold. Make sure the target is in the cone range and freeze him, shoot the target and when the spells wears off use the Cone of Cold of the other mage. Rinse and repeat.

Lower difficulty? Sorry if you have. Some people don't think of it. The problem with fire spells is it is hard to use them without getting your buddies. What is your specialisation? Also there are another 2 revenants(optional battles) really close so dont put everything into one fight. Remember you choose when this fight begins so have you considered traps?

That seems to low a level. My party came back after Orzammer at level 17ish, and still it was a super-tough fight. Have patience, level up, and come back later. I don't think beating the revenants at level 12 is possible no matter what group formation or tactics are being used.

It is possible. I did it at around level 8 or 9. You just have to kite him while killing the other skeletons and make sure to position yourself so that you'll hit a barrier (tree or wall, anything will do) when he does a mass pull. When he's alone, just have someone tank him and the others hit him from range (positioned near a barrier in case of mass pull). Having different types of health poultices help.
