Loud and intese music even when not fighting. Especially annoying when the mobs bug and won't charge.

Makes me long for the option to burn down the entire forest and be done with it.

Least favorite part? redcliffe I guess. It's kind of a generic castle, and too short. But I pretty much love the entire game. If only it didn't have to end.
I do wish the outdoor areas were a little larger so it at least gave you the illusion there's a great big wide world out there. I know it's not an open game like Oblivion or an MMO, but just a little more freedom would be nice.

I enjoyed all areas but least favorite would be a very specific area in the fade - the Mages Asunder. my only two reloads in any of my playthroughs due to my pc being blasted to hell in those bloody rooms

I hate The Fade soooo much, I can't even BEGIN to tell you.
Urghhh, this is my first play through, and I swear to the maker I nearly stopped playing the game altogether when I was going through it. I hate the fact that you cant interact with anyone other than that depressing sorry excuse for a mage,Niall. He made me wanna die with him, that loser.
It was just wayyyy toooo drawn out and down right boring,
This is only my first playthrough and I'm already dreading having to go there again once I start my second. (I love this game too much to just play it once, thought it's probably pointless to say that since I bet everyone else in this forum feels pretty much the same way).

DEEP ROADS....gaaaahhhh.....
I think it was because it was so strangely set up. The fight across the bridge ROCKED. I loved that. Took me forever (was way low level - pulled one baddie at a time - painstakingly). But then you just go on and on and on...
And then they pack all the bosses at once! I mean 3 friggin bosses? All in a row? No, 4 bosses! Spider Queen, Broodmother, Stupid...turning...anvil..thing....room..., and then Branka. I mean, I like bosses. They're great. But 4 in a row?
It seemed like those bosses would have been much better served buttered and spread out across Ferelden - like on toast. Spider queen could have been in the Brecilian forest. Anyhow...

the load times
Good point. I recant my vote for the deep roads and put myself down for load times as least favorite.

Ah yes. The Mass Effect one had much more urgency, especially as it was something to be decided in the heat of the battle - and you make the choice. Here the problem is that you make the decision AFTER the battle. And that sense of inevitability that was there in ME is lost.xX-uniQue-Xx wrote...
Essentially, I realise that cosmetic and background details aside they're both similar enough chracters (both Grey Wardens, both Warriors) but that stuck with me as a bit of a thorn in my side for a while. I'm not entirely sure why, considering I barely flinched when the similar plotline came about in Mass Effect - and thought that was one of the most well-done dramatic parts of the ME plot - but for some reason it seemed a more difficult choice to differentiate in this situation.
Never really understood why I was so bugged with the fake choice you get after the Landsmeet.
i agree. it is sort of comparing apples to oranges (fantasy to sci-fi? grey wardens to spectres?) but the ME run where you have to make that awful and grueling choice (can't remember planet's name) is awesome. every time i played that game, my hands shook when i made my choice. it was awful! and yet, it also seemed totally believable and it was not a huge surprise. horrible, but not surprise.
the landsmeet and after did strike me as a lot of out-of-left-field sort of stuff. don't get me wrong, i still love both games, but that was where ME was stronger. however, i think a lot of that comes from the feeling in THIS game that you really landed in over your head and dragged a lot of people down with you. in ME, you get the feeling shepard knew what he/she was getting into and so did everyone else on the crew.

Deep Roads could have been great if the atmosphere was tweaked. I was expecting near total darkness, especially in the overrun thaigs. More darkspawn battles and less giant spiders. Giant spiders are seriously one of the most boring enemies ever conceived.

On subsequent playthroughs, I've gone there fairly early on, just to get it out of the way. I grit my teeth, set my jaw, put the game on Casual and try to blow through The Fade as quickly as I can. I haven't figured out the quickest route yet (I probably should look it up), so unlike one of the posters above, it still takes me a long time to get through. Too long. Muttering "Gawd, I hate The Fade" the entire time.
Honestly, if there was a mod to completely bypass The Fade, that *might* be enough to convince me to switch over to the PC version of the game.
This is not to say The Fade isn't well done. I'm sure a team of folks worked very hard on it and I sincerely appreciate their effort. It's just not a section of the game that appeals to me. In the same way that country music generally doesn't appeal to me, even though I can appreciate the effort that goes into it. Just not my style.
Conversely, unlike some folks above, I enjoyed the Deep Roads. I liked them even better in subsequent playthroughs, when I realized I wasn't forced to take Oghren.
