I did not insult. I don't see any skillm in camping. There is a reason you can camp Geth but not run and gun Reapers...

It's an insult to assume i'm bad, deriding my player skill. It's takes more skill to camp than you think. Especialy with randoms. And once again geth=campable=reapers are harder. You have proved my point 3 times so far.

So you are now going on record to saying running and gunning is harder than camping? Nice to know that you just accepted that what I said wasn't an insult. If camping is easier than running and gunning and you need to camp to beat Geth and can't even beat Reapers when running and gunning you just proved that you are indeed unskilled...

I know but this guy is actually saying that I insulted him... I never. It's true that camping takes less skill than running and gunning otherwise he would be able to run and gun Reapers... Hell I beat Reaper Gold ONLY using the Flamer in 20 minutes... That was without much rocketting (I don't remember any but according to Tatty Tidal used a few so...) and no guns, or Cluster Nades...

Tell me when reapers are the only faction people choose to camp against. Tell me when banshees stop magnet-grabbing. Tell me when reapers become only rushdown. Tell me when geth can throw grenades, take you out of an entire game permanently, when half of them are composed of armor, when they have primes that can teleport, when they flush you out of cover by pure force. Most importantly, tell me when that demo vid is up, cause until then you're on ignore list. I see you can't teach an idiot, i'll stop trying.

reapers are easier in the open by far. have you ever used a batarian soldier on geth and goddess? you sepdn 90% of teh game being stunlocked. now try it with reapers. its easy.

Also camping doens't take skill but it helps player progression. you start bronze camping, then move on to bronze rambo, then silver camp, then silver rambo, then gold camp, then gold rambo, then platinum camp, then platinum rambo If you never try it you'll never be able.

But regardless to say somehting is impossible is not true. it all depends on skill. I'm not an elite player and i can speedrun platinum now thanks to the help i got from some good people from team arelex.

doing a gold match on reapers last night i held off 2 banshees, 2 brutes, and 1 ravager w/o dying while my teammte did all 4 devices then killed them when he was done. ramps and stairs make banshee magnet grabs nearly impossible.

Laughing so hard at this comment... it's just hilariously stupid... your arguments for why Reapers are hard is "you can't camp them"? You're a worse player than I thought... It'll probably be up tomorrow. Obviously Geekfest and Bech are at work and the vid needs uploaded.

Choosing batarian or krogan against geth- your fault. Choosing tech agains reapers - my fault. Choosing batarians, krogans and still dying against reapers- something is very wrong here.

Looking over choke points and making sure nothing gets near you takes skill. Especially without communication. Maybe not as much, but it still takes skill. Saying it doesn't is unreasonably ignorant. Trying to make the game harder intentionally by choosing to run and gun - boredom i guess you can say, but whatever enjoy yourself.

Assuming that everyone that complains about reapers obivous opness camps FBW shows how stupid you are and most of the bsn community at that part.

To be fair I jumped straight into a Platinum rambo match 10 minutes after the DLC was installed and got partial extraction 24 minutes first try... That was only so slow because we were hesitant to use missiles and gel too early in case we needed them later... (SPOILERS ALERT;  We didn't). I do agree it comes to simply jumping in to a run and gun playstyle.I first started ramboing after watching the early speedruns and then got in with AreleX and co. before Team AreleX was created.

I don't choose. picking an optimal layout eevry game on a set map and enemy isn't fun. I always do unknown unknown unless i'm doing a challenge and i play with a different character every game. Camping to me sin't fun anymore. my first gold was a FBWGG game and i thought it was intense. Now i run and gun and have toruble finding things to kill on gold. its not tough at all but you have to try it and get comfortbale being out in the open. use alot of soft cover too. Also i used to think you needed to camp on gold and communcate. now i'll run gold with 3 randoms w/o mics cause it doens't matter. and yes i'll run around and rambo even if they cmap becuase camping is boring. But you'll never realize that if you don't at least give it a try

When I was a camper like him I simply kited them out the backdoor and slaughtered them there. If you're pushed to far back just head to another camp spot. Hardly difficult...

Also the counters on Glacier (bottom of the long ramp) and Giant (first one nearest the front ramp) too.

No faction is "Hard". It depends on what class you're playing as. Drell Adept destroys Reapers and Cerberus, but can get ****ed over against Geth since Reave won't give him the Damage Reduction, which is what a lot of people spec for.

To look into all these claims that camping classes are doomed vs. Reapers and SKs are hard and stuff, I decided to play some Gold Reaper randoms w/ my Demo. All are pugs, I left after each match and re-queued to make sure.

Keep in mind, I'm not an elite player- I'm pretty average and def can*not* regularly carry people. I also rarely use the Demo since I just dun like the camping and grenade style, and I see so many others using her I hate to be redundant.

Anyways, since I can't vid cap on this PC, I took screens of the scoreboard- best I could do, sry.

First match on Goddess. I was obv a bit rusty w/ the class, and made some amateur mistakes, plus I hate Goddess as a map so that didn't help. Still, we finished it just fine, only used medi-gel alot, and didn't get grabbed once. Teammates: VSo w/ Reegar, KSo (stealing mah grenades! j/k) w/ a Claymore, and a KV w/ a Reegar (I think).
Image IPB

2nd match I got dropped in at the middle of wave 9 on Glacier (surrounded and w/ half the team already down- fun times). Still got to extraction no probs. Didn't count this match since 2 waves isn't really much of one.

3rd match on Reactor, w/ a great FQE w/ a Piranha (always like seeing them played well). Had a GI, but he was using a Reegar (not a great choice vs. Reapers due to the 50% armor penalty, but w/e). Did get grabbed here, but was after I got rezed near a Banshee so I couldn't do much about it. Team did fine otherwise.. until the very end when the FQE going down in the middle of everything outside the LZ caused a rez circle right at extraction. Oh well, still a 'success' in my book. Other teammate was a KSe.
Image IPB

4th match on Dagger. I was w/ another Demo and a nice aggressive AJ and Paladin. This match pretty was a simple camp n' spank w/ me and the other demo holding the top and the other 2 floating around as needed. Rushes in the top bunker were pretty quickly quelled w/ nade spam, tech bursts, and the AJ's bubble + splosions.

5th match on Ghost. This one went pretty smooth as well. Not really much to say other than it was a another good team and a good run. I did get grabbed once (after I got rezed, but this time I had a few sec to avoid the Banshee so that's my bad). Teammates: Shadow w/ Carnifex, GI w/ GPS, VSo w/ I forget.

And after that I got kinda tired of playing the Demo so I took a break.
All in all, not too bad at all. I played mostly run and gunning (like I usually do w/ my other classes)- using breaks in action or cover to place a pylon, get 2 nades, then keep moving. Also planted a pylon at any ammo box I was running past if I had the time. Rarely ran out of nades (when I did my Harrier did the work), and only used I think 3 thermals the whole time (one not needed since the area I was about to firebomb got missiled- sigh). Ravagers, Brutes, and Mauraders weren't much a problem, tbh, and I only got grabbed twice (though one was not really in my control)- in both cases it was near the end of a wave so no biggie. Not many consumabels used save for the 1st match where I was getting my bearings.

Got into a groove of handling Banshees by arc+homing spam them till they stop porting, then seek near cover, load 'em up w/ harrier bullets and drop a pylon; if/when she starts teleporting again resume grenading and shooting and evading till she dies. Pretty simple and effective.

Again: kinda average player, not an avid Demo user. Full Gold pugs, no GIs w/ Piranhas, didn't intentionally try to get Banshees on stairs or w/e, etc.

And I must thank the OP a lil for spurring me to try this. Playing a mobile hit and run Demo vs. Reaper is actually quite entertaining and pretty effective if done right. I must say I never really considered it before, but it was a fun romp while it lasted.

**** reapers and i'm glad somebody is able to play them like that. But i can't and until i see a video, i won't believe it. They are just too much bull**** compared to everything else. Their frustrating as hell, they aren't fun. Geth and cereberus are fun. Not friggin unstoppable rushing monsters of doom.

So much ignorance in this thread. Talking about "camping is easy" and "run and gun" is hard, as if you can only play all one way or the other. The real skill is in adapting to enemies and situations and figuring out how to best respond based on the situation at hand. If you've "graduated" from "camping," this tells me you're not as skilled as you think, because it seems you can only do one or the other.
