i'm really curious as to what percentage of players are having this "disconnect" issue. only 6 pages on this makes me feel like we are somehow the minority, which makes me wonder, what's different with our game/internet connections?

i'm in southern california, cox cable is my ISP, and i'm running Windows 7 Professional 64.

Well, everything works for me now.

Stayed with EA support/Live chat for 40+ minutes.

Also, this may help you guys, make sure that masseffect3.exe is added as a program to you'r anti virus exceptions.

Connectin to mass effect 3 server is separate from the game, you still connect to it even when playing solo. It' 's also used to authorize dlc from time to time. So if lose that connection it's game over for you. Maybe carlina is right here, maybe the less dlc's you have the better, or maybe it's a particular combination that's not working. I have every single dlc except that last one with weapons for sp. Not a single disconnect here.

The odd thing is this problem only happens in mutliplayer, I have been playing single player too, and have been having no problems at all there.

So, what exactly did they tell you to do to fix the problem, besides the antivirus thing of course? That fix wouldn't apply to me because I turn of my antivirus before playing the game, just in case that is the culprit.

  Hey guys, just got the game about a month or two ago and started playing the single player campaign.  After beating some of the game i thought Id try out the mulitplayer instead for something different and I got hooked!  However, the last week or so I started having serious disconnect issues as well.

  I decided to try and risk it each time but the last straw came when I disconnected on the extraction wave on the first ever silver I was going to win with 15 seconds left and all partners secured in the extraction area (im still pretty noobish hehe).   I can't remember ever being more frustrated in a game-related issue in my 30 years of life (well, possibly my xBox getting the Red Ring last year finally).  Gotta put it down til this is rectified. 



  Here's to hoping the problem can get fixed!

Yay! I finally managed to finish a game for the first time in a week :D
Next game disconnected on wave 2 again though :(

This bug is really annoying me, but I guess I'll just play SP to keep me busy ;)

I just contacted the technical support. Of course they didn't solve the issue but they finally told me:

-We’ve been receiving similar contacts and it has been identified
-Please don’t worry this issue is our priority at the moment and our Developers are working to fix this at the earliest.

I hope this is true.

I'm glad to see they are finally admitting a problem on their end and working on it.

Great. I suggest everyone keep contacting EA Tech Support through live chat about this issue if they are having it. I've already done so within the past couple of days. They told me that since they escalated my issue and a senior tech support person would email me within the next 48 hours.

The more people that open tickets about the issue, the quicker they fix it hopefully. *Crossing Fingers*

We deserve a working multiplayer.

Tech support? I don't believe their advice - not one whit!

Bioware hasn't directly acknowledged this problem and has not said they are working on it. Ah, maybe that's because they've forgotten how to properly communicate to their audiences?

I don't expect them to actually fix this problem, because the servers are actually under Electronic Arts' management, not Bioware's as far as I'm aware.

So, yeah. Here, guys. Have a post I put up in another thread a while ago...

I don't know but something is really funky and it seems like it started last week. For the first time in a long time I have had multiple disconnects this week. Normally when I disconnect I would become the new host. Now I just disconnect from the game. Another thing I noticed is that I can't seem to keep four players when hosting lately. Player 4 has a high likely hood of dropping.

Last night I was hosting on my PC a couple of friends, and they were all complaining.about lag glitches. Normally I host because my friends like my Internet connection little to no lag for all players. We did two matches fine, the third match one of my friends dropped off completely. Sucks in a platinum game. He sent me text the second he lost connection via origin. Unfortunately a PUG filled in his spot, and he couldn't hop back in. I ran a speed test after the match, and was showing 15mb/15mb. So it wasn't my ISP.

I hosted a pug match this morning to see if it was any better, and asked about the lag. Folks seemed happy, but I still couldn't hold three other players. For some weird reason the forth guy kept dropping out, and being replaced. By wave 9 we only had 3 players.

I was going to wireshark it and see what the hell is going on and if it is on my side, like my router reseting, or funky UPNP request for the same port from a diffferent pc in the house. Anyone know what ports need to be traced from talking to support. I have seen a list but too lazy to search. I guess I can search when I actually try this later if no one responds too.

Got in touch with EA Tech support. Got a bunch of responses such as "open these ports..."

Even when I told him that my ISP/Router/Computer was the same as it was a month ago when I had zero problems with ME3...it simply did not register in his head.

Sigh. I respect EA for their level of financial success, but their way of handling things leaves a lot to be desired.

P.S. I also wish Bioware had remained independent instead of being bought out by EA. That would have ensured their product quality remained at an acceptable level instead of slowly but surely turning to crap. The "Midas Touch" curse is not a joke.

Just a question. Can anyone who is having constant dropouts list their tracert to the EA server? it seems a friend of mine is having trouble with a node called sanjose .. This may be a routing issue, which has to be solved by ISPs.
Was hoping to see if anyone had problems with the same nodes, for those outside and inside of the US.

*sigh* I'm getting the disconnect as soon as I enter MP. It gives me the loading screen from the main menu, but it's like as soon as it would actually load, I get the lost connection message. The furthest I got was seeing the MP Weekend announcement for a fraction of a second.

I do this: logout from ME3, but stay in Origin client. Go to drop-down menu that names as Örigin"and turn off my connection to servers and stay in offline status. After that i'm turn in my connection and launch game. Don't sure that exactly this helps, but i can play some MP matches before someone kick me off from team =)) Shame on them) If all what i discribe helps you i'll be glad.

Yeah, I already did that, as well as completely exiting Origin, restarting my computer and even a repair install of ME3.
