No, PS3 actually.

While the PS3 communitty is smaller, it's usually better behaved than what you described. I think you just need some good people to roll with. I have a great group of friends, if you want to play sometime, friend me. PSN is in sig.

Holy crap, small world! I just saw your sig. I tried to use your invite today, but the game was full.

I never mic with randoms. Last time I did, someone insisted I was African-American and was in fact a kill-stealing homosexual.

hurt me right in the feelings.

The first part of this post was depressing, but that last sentence made me laugh.

ur right most of ps3's ppl are nice but the few that are bad are really bad, i was playing gold testing the javalin on the destroyer and this dude and his friends all have mics and one of them is just insulting me for the whole game calling me words that atr really mean and at first his friends just laughed but then as he went on his friends laughs turned nervous, that how i came to the conclusion, but is xbox even worse?

I play Xbox Live myself, and I have to admit.. I've run into some pretty bad parties/individuals before. Not to long ago I randomally joined in a silver lobby, and instantly, I had the rest of the lobby instantly bashing me, harassing me etc etc.. For about a good 5 minutes (Sent a message to the leader that I needed to take a restroom break really quick and heard them over the surround sound system in my room) and then, once got back I sent him a nice, polite message asking what exactly I had done to him and his friends to cause that, and their reason.. Honestly, made me just lay down on the floor and bust out laughing - because I don't have a headset. I've only run into those type of people a few times, and most of the people with mics I come across are actually quiet friendly and humorous, and - honestly everyone loves taking shots at my GamerTag, not that I mind that to a degree. However - I've more then once thought about buying a PS3 and ME3 for it because my cousin tells me the community is much better then ours, even if it is only a small percent.

I usually turn my bias to 100% game sound/0% voice when with randoms. Frankly, its stupid that an online game doesn't have a mute function for individual players like CoD does.

I have to admit feeling bad that I cust at one player in my last game this eve. No one was talking on the mics and I think only myself and one other person had a mic on. I felt like a dummy for doing it right after I said it, We only got partial extraction because one of the players appeard to lolly gag back near the end after going out to reap a few more points. One of those 'there is no excsue for not getting full extraction' kind of things.

You should have followed him around the map and shot all of his hacked synthetics for the remainder of the game.

Well OP it is rather annoying when someone kills the Pyro I just hacked 2 feet from a prime, when there's hunters and rocket troopers all over the damn place. At least its not as annoying when someone kills something I just warped or reaved

I almost never encounter rude people on mic. TBH, its more often that I'll encounter really friendly people who are a little annoying, but I'm always nice to them anyway lol. I've actually got a few people on my friends list just from talking to random people on mic. Also, at least a few times people have recognized me from the forums (my gamertag is the same as my forum tag) and say hi to me.

Same. Except for the forum thing.

Very rarely do I encounter negativity.

Like I said, it was an accident and I apologized.
I don't think that warrants calling me a multitude of different degrading names.

In a gold game, apparently I had accidentally killed one of someone's sabotaged target. I didn't know this yet, but I hear a few seconds after I do "Person with the mic, quit being a dck" followed by more obscenities and something else I couldn't exactly hear. I wanted to figure out what exactly warranted calling me this, especially when in reality it was over something so minimal as a destroyed sabotage.

So I get on my mic and ask him why exactly he's so angry with me, and goes on to tell me what exactly sabotage does. Well, yeah, thanks Einstien. I know what the power does, I was asking what I did wrong and he begins to talk down to me as if I'm completely clueless while I'm carrying his sorry bum. I at least know now what exactly did wrong.

But worst yet when I told him I was sorry, and he didn't need to call me a dck, he turns and says this instead.
"Well would you prefer I call you a [insert women genitalia here] instead?"

I mean, really?
The moment you find out I'm a girl you use that against me? From a grown man, no less. At that point I didn't want to hear another word from him so I just turned off my mic but continued to play in their lobby where I continued to carry him and the rest of the team.

So what I'm getting at, is. There is usually absolutely no point for me to use my mic and try and play tactically with anyone (besides friends) in this community, because all it results in are petty insults. If I wanted to argue with grown men I'd be playing CoD or some other FPS right now. /rantrant

Anyone else run into some lovely users as of late?

At least they were speaking roughly the same language as you. I tend to leave the mic off in pick up games, unless I'm convinced that the people with their mics aren't annoying. When I get invites from friends though, I have to go scramble for my mic ha ha.

NO OP WHAT YOU DID WAS BAD AND YOU DESERVE TO BE PUNISHED FOR IT!

Sadly, that is the attitude you will encounter with some people. Just laugh at them and move on. One thing you can be sure of is that being insulted by a person like that is not something you should take in any way but humorously.

That's no good. No need to be a pr*ck, no need at all. I've never encountered that sort of thing (yet) on PSN.

Never encountered it although if I had, I would have informed him that he just gained a new follower and started following him around the map killing his sabotaged targets as soon as he casts it EVEN if it ended up costing the team the mission. Sucks for the other 2 guys in the lobby but thats how it has to be. You just can't stand for that kind of thing.

Of course, can't leave out telling him that everything would have been alright if he had just nicely asked you to stop killing his sabotaged targets (which is kind of a stupid request btw since that turret will become a killing field once the sabotage wears off...).

I never run across overly rude people, but that might just be because I'm good at being a patronizing jackass.

"OH! I'm sorry, I thought the point was to KILL the enemies! We're trying to make friends? Cool! Give the next Pyro a hug for me."

Does that mean that I'm the overly rude person? ****...

I mostly dislike the mic lately because of some stupid things I hear, like people claiming the Geth are the easiest faction when they've only tried to beat gold by camping on White, or hearing that someone spec'd their GI out of proximity mines. I don't like having to TRY not to call people ****tards.

Recently I've run into a couple of douchey players. I got into a gold reaper match and there were 2 guys with mics. Through out the game they kept saying how infiltrators suck (me and the other guy with no mic were using Shadow) and that they could catch up with our scores combined by letting us do all the work in the early rounds. They would deliberately die or I would rez them (because I'm too nice :P). I stayed in the match because the other Shadow player was pretty good. In the end one of the douchey guys got insta-killed or something. Still the other shadow player came in first and I was second :D I think one of them said if he didn't die he would have tripled our scores (mind you he died in wave 11). This was on PS3 too. Back in lobby they said lets kick those guys- I really wanted to tell them I'm not a guy but it's probably not worth it :P

"Someone's sabotaged target"

lol, why not just respond that you were picking up the slack left by worthless scrub players using useless powers?
