People should assuming everyone knows hacked target = Don't kill, and if you have a mic and you hack a target you want to stay alive then say something.

Do you think it would be a good idea if a sabotaged unit were temporarily made invulnerable to team fire?  I'm unsure of the pros and cons.  I'm also not happy with the very subtle halo put on units that are sabotaged.  It needs to be more pronounced, kind of like how the male quarian scan highlights a unit.  It's right in your face and obvious.

I mean, really? 
The moment you find out I'm a girl you use that against me? From a grown man, no less. At that point I didn't want to hear another word from him so I just turned off my mic but continued to play in their lobby where I continued to carry him and the rest of the team. 

So what I'm getting at, is. There is usually absolutely no point for me to use my mic and try and play tactically with anyone (besides friends) in this community, because all it results in are petty insults. If I wanted to argue with grown men I'd be playing CoD or some other FPS right now. /rantrant

Anyone else run into some lovely users as of late?

Sorry to hear that. It sucks, just remember that yes there are alot of idoits out there but there are also good players who are cool. Keep using your mic and don't get discouraged and if you come across some cool random people then send them a freinds requests o you can play with them again

I'm one of those people who will atack anything hacked. you know why? cause any second it can turn back and kill you. I was playing with 1 person who was getting mad at me for it and then they hacked a turret so i decided to let them learn for themselves. they hack it, it kills the enineer and they go see then it turns around and kills my teammate. they were like WTF. point in being after taking down teh turret and reviving them they learned their lesson. sabotage is a good power to buy you time and create a distraciton but if your using it as a damage dealer good luck (except for backfire)

Through out the game they kept saying how infiltrators suck (me and the other guy with no mic were using Shadow) and that they could catch up with our scores combined by letting us do all the work in the early rounds. Some players do that: they can't play for chips throughout the entire game, and at wave 11 they race to the spawnpoints and keep rocketlaunching (and you thought they forgot where that button was in the first place!) it for dozens of points for their ePeen.
Wave 11 matters, but so do the 10 waves before it. If you can't rake in the kills before extraction, then camping that spawn point doesn't mean a thing to me.

people who use missiles on wave 11 to run up their score are stupid. they don't realize they are not impressing anyone and also making themselves look bad in the process

Yeah, maybe something like a temporary damage immunity to some targets (excluding turrets. atlas Prime etc) and an easier to spot effect, Like two layers of the current effect and brighter.

lol, why not just respond that you were picking up the slack left by worthless scrub players using useless powers?

considering sabotage also greatly increases the damage done to banshees, brutes, phantoms, and any other non-synthetic enemy, its far from useless, despite the popular opinion of it.

a backfired banshee dies in seconds with a team firing at it.
 shes one of the better characters for platinum because of this, combined with atlas, prime, and pyro hacks.

One time i got into to a gold lobby and all sudden this guy starts talking trash about me and another player's kit saying things in can't posted here so i started looking at his kit and guess what it was much more worse than both of ours i was going to plug in my mic and tell shut up but then i thought his response would just annoy me more so i just left the lobby.

Since almost none of my friends play ME3 (sob) I play with randoms close to all the time. I'm on PC, and even though my multiplayer experience suffer from alot of completely silent games I've never met a flamer. Guess the consoles got the shortest straws, huh?

I almost always have my mic on and, so far, I've managed to avoid anything like this--in ANY game (e.g., HALO, etc.)--and I'm on XBOX. Just lucky I guess.

The closest I've ever come was when someone stood in front of my Turian and said, "Dude, you look like a(n) "effin" christmas tree." He was right actually...I changed my appearance options after the game LOL

I find that there are proportionally more immature people that play games in general than I usually encounter with the real world. I'm finding more and more that if I do something else, the less angry I get. Maybe I'm outgrowing gaming.

An individual is smart and cool but people just suck, everytime there is a girl in my lobby and we realize it the other randoms turn into poo flinging troglodytes who are clearly still virgins imo. I tell her to mute them so she can enjoy the game, and i get called a white night. No I'm simply not 15 anymore and would actually like a mature gaming session, but i guess if i really want that i have to play with friends, ugh.

thats kinda what the locust run turned out to be. only one of us passed 25 SMG kills the rest of us didn't even get that many with the locust. relied on heavy melee mostly. its not that hard actually. i've done them just before taking pics. I wanna try a supply pylon only game.

Sad to hear that.

I've encountered a few of these as well on the PS3. I'm just glad that I can turn off the voice chat volume and continue playing the game, without their nonsense. It's one of the reasons why while I'm searching for a lobby, and I hear someone with a mic, I immediately cancel before I get transferred. The last thing I want is for someone to call me names and boss me around... I've already had my fair share of that from high school. So, no thanks. (>_<)

I'm on pc and I had mostly positive experiences with voicechat. Most people that use it are perfectly polite and sociable. The only bad moments I've had was with Russians 1 or 2 times. 

Had some girl gamers in some games too, wasn't too big of a deal, they weren't treated any differently in my experience.

Was on Xbox last night as well and joined a bunch of randoms on a Glacier Platinum run.
Was using a lvl 20 Destroyer and configuing in the lobby, when the randoms started making fun of my character and other things I can't mentioned and wanted me to change to a Demolisher.

I was going to say something but just put myself in Ready. All three of then continued for another minute or so, but I admit I was being stubborn. If they were going to kick me, then whatever. They finaly relented and started the run.

In the game, was nothing but harrasment. During the pizza delivery mission, I ran out , turned off my devastor mode and grabbed the package. All I hear is how my character suxs, blah blah.

Was leading in score , until wave 10 when we had another pizza delivery mission where I again delivered the package. That bumped me down to the lowest scoring one while they tech slashed their way in the room with their N7 shadows and grenade spammed.

Man I wish I would have got the high score on that run.

OP, sorry to hear about your experience.  From similar threads, it seems there's a substantial difference between the PC and console demographics.
Perhaps it's time to migrate to the PC side?

It's horrible having a mic in on the xbox, absolutley horrible, only do it when friends are playing otherwise not a chance.

In pub games, I generally only chat a bit to say "thanks" for a revive, warn another player of a banshee that's behind him/her, or when the extraction time is almost up.

Sometimes I'll comment on something funny or when someone (excluding myself) does something awesome/unbelievable (and worth acknowledging IMHO).

Encountered a couple of rude guys, but that's about it. Usually, no one says a word (on PC).

why didn't the shadopw do it? if i'm a shadow for a platinum run i always use my adreline mod and i take the passive 20% movement speed. it makes me run like a drell on crack. i can walk with teh package faster then most classes run w/o it

Got cussed out over a farmer who didn't know how to do fire base glacier I offered to show him and he brought up how me and him died just us 2 on gold ...at glacier but fire base white is fine buti said well ego play glacier then I wanna play a real game. ..he flipped bc I brought up glacier ..bc it can be done on plat while fire base white is more gold...

He wanted money I was being friendly ..also he couldn't use biotics I was like man u gotta try it ..not actually saying oh I must use this or I won't play and well btch ...no just that they're fun and worth a go ..he was newer to the game is all..

Got blasted by him and he had his friends join the lobby and boot me and they even apologized lol ...wtf?n

You did nothing wrong. If it's sabotaged...past the first two or three seconds I'm unloading on it. I'm not really into forgetting about that Prime until the Sabo wears off and then it starts drilling me.

Same with a turret.
