OP, if someone treated me like that, I would have f*cked with him the rest of the match. Just follow him around killing sabotaged synths on purpose. Or, just stand in front of him the while time.

If he was going to treat you like what he called you, might as well play the part.

I've never really encountered rude people on ME3 MP. I've actually met quite a few really cool guys that I now play with regularly when I'm in an ME3 mood.
I've only encountered one rude person. He happened to be drunk.

@OP

yea i stopped using my mic. I play on PS3 as well and seriously I think a lot of the people with mics suffer from some serious intellectual deficiencies or something. I feel your pain I guess lol and yea i hear on the Xbox it's worse so I guess it can be worse xD.

On PC, the worst thing I ever heard was in a match I was hosting with two folks on my friends list. Needed a fourth so opened up to public. Guy joined and we started. Dude was decent and was in third by first objective. Objective was escort and he hit it right away. I was a GI and was hiding from a Ravager waiting to take it out as it was in our path. He almost immediately says "Get in the circle, please!" rather rushed and annoyed. I just said "easy tiger, just clearing our path." and then joined them.

He was a little too serious for our tastes so we started a new lobby after extraction. But, he thanked us for the match and ended in third. That is the worst I have seen on PC.

I'm a girl and I don't use mic either. Just for things like that.
One day a guy started to yell at me badly just because he could hear me hitting my keyboard when I was using powers.
I don't complain when someone in my random games leaves his/her mic on, it turns funny when you can hear them talking about something embarrassing w/o knowing they've their mic on!

Anyways, if someone gets pissed because you killed his sabotaged npc its stupid, skill cd is so small, and he can always use it on the other npc...

Not using mic, have voice chat off the last months too. It's not useful to hear others pant or whine about dying.

On a side note... Fjortis... really?

I met a rude arse once, before I got a mic. I was thrown into a game mid-wave and it didn't take many seconds to realize I was playing with a douchebag, and his friend. He cursed me out for dying when I was trying to solo the next wave after the rest of them died (which quickly made me decide that using a medi-gel was just not worth it to finish), and proceeded to hurl profanities at me in the lobby. That's the only time.

I have since got a mic, and at times I am quite chatty, Not once has any guy (or girl) made any weird comments about me being female, made me feel uncomfortable by making inappropriate comments, thrown gender based insults at me, or done the whole "must impress/protect her" thing. I've been called "lady" quite a bit, and "girl" a few times, but that's about as far as the gender thing has gone. Mostly it's been used in the context of "lady, I can't remember how to pronounce your name right now, but there's a Phantom behind you". You could easily substitute "lady" with "dude" and get the same thing.

I've met a few people that I now play with from time to time. We've had laughs, and silly games, and tragic games, and generally a good time. All in all I am very happy with the PS3 ME3 community. At least the parts of it I have encountered so far.

I think it's mostly luck. I've been lucky. Sorry to hear that not everyone has.

I must admit it is not my style and I don't normally do this but I guess after a straight 54 hours mostly travelling in prop a plane across continents: I was half deaf , couldn't sleep and wasn't in my best mood that day. It wasn't my best match given the situation, someone realized I was girl (my game name is more feminine than my forum name) and suggested I suck some body part of his instead of playing the game...My salarian engineer spent the rest of the game spawning decoys right behind this idiot to ensure he would en up in the middle of fire...we all ended up dead but it was fun :kissing:

Re-edit: Ive played with alot of people like that and i wouldnt say the whole community is like that but a large majority take this game way to seriously. I quit playing call of duty becasue of all the nonsense that went on and actully i had my gf play with me on there and got tired of hearing show me your...well you know and she would laugh but i really got tired of such thangs as the above being called a ******,etc etc.  And KDR was so meaningles....anyways i digress.

I say if anybody acts like that they should get the bartarian treatment: "You sir, you're a blight." and if their friends join in, "and you, and you."

Who cares as long as it's dead? Killing the enemy is the point. Getting into a lather over who killed it is childish. I can't tell you how many times I laid into a brute, banshee, or prime to others the shot at killing it. I knew I would need a revive and they would be able to do it because I wore it down, but I didn't care because the thing was dead. That's how a team SHOULD work. In real life war that is how a team does work. None of this whining about stealing kills. Just glad the enemy is no longer a threat. And anyone who contributes to eliminating that enemy has proven to be a valuable member of the team. Apparently, this concept doesn't translate to games and some of the tools that play.

there seems to be zero talk on tactics over the mics. so i never see the point. ive never seen someone get saved because they had a mic. atleast in gold i dont see that many unaware players.

ive heard some people say or even message me some hatefull things. its really easy to brush off, but i really dont understand the reason for it. even people who are obviously less skilled players talk smack. maybe im just not as competitive.

Wrong, it works best on Cerberus turrets (it can kill the engineer +2 additional targets like nemesis) and most of the time there is no other turret around.
As for a geth you sabotage one that is surrounded by others, so the hacked one actually attacks something, other players can kill those other hunters, rocket troopers, pyros instead of that sabotaged one.
But if it is a prime/atlas feel free to shoot, they wont kill anything anyway.

Sabotage is pretty useless most of the time (hack only usefull vs geth/cerberus-turret, due to short duration the target wont deal much damage most of the time and they get immune), so you should try not to jeopardise the few occasions where it actually works, especially since it means there are other targets around.

I wasn't going to report him for being a moron, lol.
People have a right to say what they want, I just don't like the fact that this makes them think they can try and belittle other players.

In my eyes, you have already won by saying that.

But I want to punch that guy now... my soul thirsts for JUSTICE.

Seems like PC users generally have more mature players.

Are you on Xbox?

No, PS3 actually.

I know it's bad on xbox though. Haha.

PS3 XBOX all the same everyone talks only BS.

don't forget PC. or do you really think you guys have no jerks that play? that aloone is arrogant and proving yourself wrong with that statament.

Must i bring up the fact that one of the top PC players got kicked for wanting to use a batarian soldier?

Of course every platform has idiots.  And some games are worse than others.  League of Legends for example is a cesspool of idiots.

I'm genuinely surprised by PC players on Mass Effect 3 though.  The majority are decent enough players, or even if they aren't very good most of them at least try.  I can count the number of "annoying mic" users on one hand from the entire time I've been playing since the demo.

I play on xbox and i ahven't experianced anything really compared to what people make it out to be. I cna't judge PC or PS3 for ME3 but i do know PS3 CoD people are horrible. I've watched my friend IRL play it and she gets harassed by 10 year olds constantly. But for me juding on xbox and ME3 MP i haven't run into these kind of people on a regular basis. I get like 1 major a-hole for every 100 or so people. ID what you guys are doing to attarct so many bad people but I just don't see it. Sure i run into bad player playing difficulties that are above their skill level but i don't mind it as long as they try

Yeah I don't often go on mic when pugging, although I've also been fortunate enough to not run have into too many mouthbreathers like that (ps3 as well). Never say never, though. There are still good people out there.

You can add me if you're looking for a group. PSN: he1senberg
