DA2 surviving sibling.

what if they died in the deep road

That's why I say surviving.

If they die there is just a empty squadmate slot. Like Garrus and Tali in ME3. <_<

Nobody. Drop romances and make a great game that isn't so focused on "OMG, who can I romance?!"

Other games do fine without them. Those other games are also of much higher quality than BioWare's dating simulator games.

I think you're in the wrong company forum, Chris Avellone

Agreed, go play those other games Chris. The Devs have stated time and again that the romances are there to stay. They are the main reason why Bioware has such a loyal fanbase.

1. Cullen (Because the writers need to stop torturing the poor man and denying him all that female mage lovin' he's so desperate for.)
2. Tallis (With profuse apologies apologies to Felicia Day for putting this second.)
3. Varric's Chest Hair
4. Varric
5. Other characters we haven't heard of yet

I like the idea of having a semi-normal male LI, with no dead wife, no Lyrium addiction, no spirit possession, just a strong personality, and a loving heart. It wouldn't hurt to have him amazingly handsome either.

Bethany (If she survives the deep roads) To me, her and Varric are the only good companions from DA: 2

I'm not preferential one way or another about Cullen. I have no particular attachment to him. I think he's evolved in an interesting way, so whether he's romanceable or not or even in DA3, I am not against or rabidly in favor of.

I'd just like to see some... Stable characters. XD

Having just finished Asunder not ten minutes ago... Rhys and Evangeline are decent examples of chatacters who are thoughtful and stablr without being lifeless. I sense DA3 may be, ah, tumultuous, so I'd like reliable characters to romance.

Especially if I'm going to be the third mage to save everyone's sorry butts. Heh.

In a perfect world, where I got to choose the person I was most interested in romancing, then I'd have to vote Nathaniel Howe. But since that isn't going to be happening . . . !

Mmm, perhaps a young, idealistic mage. What's-his-name from Dawn of the Seeker springs to mind. He seemed like a decent guy. Really any Knight-in-Shining-Armor type is great, and I even love brooding and angst. Honestly, I'm pretty easy to please.

For females, I'd prefer someone who wasn't, um, regularly argumentative or combative. Other than that I have almost no preference. I usually enjoy Bioware's female ensemble, so I'm excited to see what's coming up.

That was horrible. Not that I care much, since in the two saves I imported so far they're alive, but it wasn't right. If they're dead in ME2 and you didn't purchase Prothy's dlc, you'll have 4 squadmates. Even less than ME.
If they're going to make some former companions return in the party, I hope they'll chose companions that couldn't be killed in the previous games.

1. Cullen, I like how shy he is in Dragon Age Origins. He would make a great LI for the PC.
2. Cassandra, she's wanting to revolve the situation of the templars by finding the champion. I think her character is very interesting.
3. Alistair
4. Anders
5. Morrigan
6. Isabela

1. Varric. Just, Varric.
2. Cassandra. Dhat accent  and she's fiery
3. A lady Kossith. Women play a major role in Qunari society, and we should see it. Make her a Tal-Vashoth or a reneage seearbas that uses magic to speak, just something to give us a better look into how the other third of the Qun works. Plus, who doesn't like amazons?
4. A lady Dwarf. Really. Sigrun was awesome and cute. If not her, give us some recognition that female dwarves do in fact, exist.
5. Cullen, he needs a hug really bad.
6. Last but not least, an elven male that's not a latin metrosexual or looks like he was ripped out of a JRPG. No offense to anyone, but I demand testosterone. Every gay romance I've played through so far felt like some yaoi fanfic, and I couldn't get anything out of them at all. Give me a same-sex romance that's an actual relationship between two men, not a male character and a carbon copy romance with gender appropiate pronouns. The Isabella+FemHawke romance felt perfect for example because Isabella didn't treat Hawk like a man with lady parts like Leliana did, but as another woman. In fact, if you're going to make bi LIs, make gender matter.

I'd like a non-traditional romance, like how Garrus was seen as at the start in Mass Effect. No one thought anyone would want to romance him because of how inhuman he looks but now he's the most popular LI :D A male Kossith romance would make me very happy!

On another note, I'd really like to see a male version of Morrigan (just the similarities in personality) as a romance.

You know that thought crossed my mind while playing through Mass Effect 2 & 3 the last few weeks... Bioware seems to have something against Blondes, because I didn't encounter much in the way of blonde crewmembers.

They did at least include a redhead in Dragon Age:Origins and DA2. And based on the tv commercials of late redheads are the new blondes. Still, it would be a nice to see a blonde in a Bioware game, they aren't going extinct anytime soon.

Some irony has to be involved in the fact that Morrigan is a shapeshifter, and yet is only a LI for males. (I'm mostly chuckling while typing that, but still, some irony involved there isn't there?)

I'm straight, and I've always thought that most same sex romance in the games come off a little bit stereotypical (think Oliver Stone's Alexander). If they're going to include same sex romance in a game, they should ditch the stereotypes, otherwise, isn't it just as politically incorrect as not having them available in the first place?

I wouldn't say stereotypical -unless if you're Zevran- but nothing about the romances seemed genuine to me. I'm gay, and I know how love between two men works out, and the romances all feel like they came from a well-written fan-fic. Men in relationships -in my experiance- aren't that verbal or emotional, though that's probably because the writers have to make sure the relationship works for women too since most gay LIs are available to women as well. All that the writers have to do though is make gender matter. Dailogue should make a difference, and heck, maybe it should take different requirements to romance someone. I think I remember that in Jade Empire, it took more effort for a male PC to romance Sky than a female because he had to get used to his feelings.

Good observation.. bi female here. Something that always bugged be about Bioware romances is how unbearably "cute" the lesbian/bi female romances were. ME1 Liara? Naive, shy little girl. ME2 Kelly (not even a full romance, but still)? "I love everyone and I totally adore you". ME3 Traynor? "Oh I'm so cute and clumsy with my accent". DA2 Merril? "I'm cute and naive and clumsy, oh and I totally have an accent". See a pattern there?

For some reason people always assume that in lesbian relationships it's all about butterflies and puppies. I want someone like Morrigan for my female Inquisitor, or something like the female version of Fenris. A broody dark lesbian. Then I won't feel so nauseous during the dialogues.
