Hi guys. I connected to origin this morning to get my commendation pack.

No luck.

Later origin was still online (Dad working on PC).

After dad got done i saw that my origin was offline.

When i tried to go online it said another pc was using my origin A/C.

This scared the crap out of me as I havent told my password to anyone.

After 2 tries I was able to log in and go online.

First thing i did was change my password. Then I went to origin live chat for assistance.

They told me to change my email and my password.

They gave me this link

https://help.ea.com/...n-my-ea-account

In addition they told me most likely was that origin was updated or it was a bug.

I doubt it is because it was updating since I had already updated my origin to 9.0 as a compulsory update.

Current Origin Version:
Version 9.0.2.2064

I have followed their instructions.

I changed Email id and Password.

I want to know was my account hacked or not??

Pls take adequate steps to protect yourselves.

Can support not tell you whether a different IP had logged onto your account that day? That would tell you whether you'd been hacked or whether it was a bug.

I didnt ask them at that time. I was more worried about what steps i needed to take to protect my account.

There seems to be so much going on with bad/stale login info for so many people that I tend to lean towards it being a bug. Not a "strong" feeling, but think of all the people who have had origin ID failures after DLC or crashes or disconnects. You really should ask EA help though what someone else mentioned...if it was an odd IP address. That would be the smoking gun.

Hi I chatted with Origin Live Support

Their response:

you:Can you please check if a different IP had logged onto my PC then

you:It said that my account was being accessed by a different computer

you:Thats why i contacted you guys

Nitin:Unfortunately, we don't have such tools to provide you any information like this. You can contact your Internet Service Provider for further assistance asking if any other user is using your IP or not.

you:Ok thanks for the suggestion

Does your ISP provide dynamic IPs? Some ISPs do this to keep their IP range clean. Basically you get a disconnect every 24 hours, and after you reconnect, you get a new IP. This can happen at any time of the day.

Maybe this is what happened while your dad was working on the PC? Might also explain why Origin went offline (afaik it rarely reconnects automatically after the connection failed).

I dont think so,Allana. I am trying to get in touch with my ISP but they are having problems for the last  week or so.

This has happened again today. It happened 5 mins ago. I was in game and lost connection to me 3 during wave 10. Thats normal so I was annoyed but I figured it happens to everyone. At the main menu of me 3 it put me in offline mode.
When i quit and came to origin menu on desktop, it showed my account was being accessed by another pc. It gave me an option to sign in to kick the other pc out. I did that. Now, what i want to know is how did anyone hack my account. I had changed the email id and password after last hacking.

NPLewes response

Hey Legion - judging by the information you've posted it doesn't actually sound like you've been hacked at all but rather there was an issue with Origin that disconnected you but it seems like it kept your information logged in. When you tried to reconnect it said it was already logged in. You've done the important steps with changing your password on the off chance it was something more malicious.
