Yeah, I mean how dumb is that? It would be like playing a Grey Warden and constantly being referred to as "Warden." Oh wait...

Speaking of VO, maybe these four, or some of them, can actually be a PC. Like, you have an option to select one character at the beginning and you get to be that character. The ones you don't choose become party memebers.

It'd be almost impossible to make a surname work if they're planning on having multiple origins of any kind, I think. So it would need to be a title, like the Warden's was

Look on the bright side, the fact that it looks like we're playing a role instead of a defined person with a name means a lot more customisation could be on the way.

That was, indeed, pretty dumb.

Meh. I don't know if it'll be worth it unless there are racial customization options, and if there are, we might be forced back into being silent, which I'd hate.

I don't mind playing as a human (although I would prefer the choice of a few different races), but I don't really wanna play a noble. I'd prefer my characters home hub to be a campsite or something interesting. Just anything other than a mansion.

Life of luxury not for you? =]

I dunno, I just kinda want to be the traveling/nomad/gypsy type this time LOL.

It sounds far better than warden or champion, the title sounds like it commands some actual Authority.I think you are just not willing to embrace the potential waves of change, melca <_<

Well as a human noble you expect to work your way up to a home like Hawke had.  I liked the home in Kirkwall.  Yet if we are given the option again to play a dwarf like varric who is a surface dwarf and if your high up the dwarven merchants guild, I'd expect a mansion as well.  If I'm a city elf who was a merchant which in Orlai they could be you'd expect a nicer home.  If you are a Dalish elf, then yeah I can see you camped out in the woods with a nice cabin or moving arvel.  With a clan nearby.  Maybe not your clan that you came from but a dalish clan.  If you play a city elf and stuck in the alienage you should have the nicest home in the alienage.  If you're a warden and inquistor both wherever the order's home is at the moment.

A warden inquistor....sounds like a job for my warden. Image IPB

Really? you'd prefer the hard camp ground to nice soft silk orlesian bed? :o

As far as the castle goes, it might potentially be a base of operations for this new 'Inquisition' similar to Ezio's ville in the Assasin creed series

I have nothing against change but why cant we be called Inquisitor with a last name?

And as long as my character can decide to go against the Order at the end, I'll be happy. B)

I'd like to think we'd have a family last name that close friends and romances address us by, I'll admit it was very unpleasant to hear morrigan Address me as warden, especially considering we had a kid :(

I don't think that will happen for awhile Emzamination, because the software isn't there yet for developers to do that. Maybe in another 10 years maybe.

Like Dungeon Siege 3? Please, no. That would beat the purpose of it being a real RPG. I like to customize my character as much as possible...:(

No, you have it all wrong, the synopsis said the Inquisition would rise from the ashes of the chantry's destruction, it's a brand new organization that just shares the name.I'm guessing either mage or warrior can be an inquisitor because it also stated there was a meeting to try and broker peace would naturally include mages and templars.

Considering that templars and mages want the exact opposite of the other, peace is unrealistic.

But would it really be so difficult to program? I noticed in mass effect shepards crew alternated between calling him Commander/ shepard or skipper in the case of the love interest.Couldn't bioware record lines for romances twice? Maybe default calling the character by title and if a romance flag is checked repeating the same line with a family name?

And Kasumi called Shepard "Shep". Everything can be done. It is a question of budget.

There are apologist on both sides of the war such as cassandra, galen, and the circle chantry frat.Like cassandra said at the end of Da2, not everyone wants war

I understand what you guys are saying but in ME3 Shepard is one male or one female, two vo total for the main character. If we get back all races, add in male/female that is six or eight voices right there if you add in qunari. I don't see the budget for it. So yes, I agree, budget issue.

Edit:  the only way I can see it happening is if a male and female vo record all the dialog and a computer is used to change the voice.   Sound editiors would have to do this.  I think it could be done this way.  I'm not a game developer, just throwing out ideas here.

I would consider it money well spent to have my LI not refer to me by my Job title during intimate moments and while we're on the subject, I'd also appreciate it if bioware started using the term "Relationship", I've had it with this "you and me" "our thing" "our entaglment" "us" bullocs. In not one Dragon age has the term "relationship" been used.

What kind of peace can there when templars want to rule over mages because they think it's their divine right to do so, and mages want to be free from the Chantry and its templars? Of course not everyone feels this way, but a sufficient number of people on both sides did to put the world on the "brink of war." Not everyone wants war, but enough people want the exact opposite of the other side to pit the two factions into a war across the continent.

So where does that leave the people that don't want the war? Are they to be swept up in the grand struggle just because everyone else is doing it? Would it be so Implausible for Pro-peace activist from both sides to try and meet to atleast discuss soloutions on stopping the war?

Remember: that was Kirkwall. We are not going to be in Kirkwall.
And people change; once war starts, they want peace. People also die and those radical people could have died...this is like saying "a war can never end", which isn't true.

It's maybe a little unrealistic to be annoyed about a set character with a title (that has no species customisation options) while also disliiking the alternative (a blank slate, of any species) because it's a silent one.

Fully-voiced racial customisation options just don't seem possible, at least not with this kind of budget (and would they even be worth it? How many used elves/dwarves in DAO, relative to the expense of giving them a full voice in DA3?) - but it looks like we can expect a more customisable protagonist, at least in the sense that they aren't defined exclusively by their name and family - which Hawke is, for most of the game.

And that, I think, is a positive thing.

That is exactly what the synopsis said so I don't understand why everyone's crying pro-chantry

From the synopsis, it seems like the Chantry basically gets more or less destroyed and this "Inquisition" is a new entity entirely that probably ends up taking on a sort of Warden like neutrality in the sense that they're simply trying to find out the truth of the situation.

Which likely lets the player character go between the various factions (mages, Chantry remnants, qunari, mercenaries, Orlesian nobles, apostates, Wardens) to recruit people who are all manner of outcasts and discover that the Big Bad isn't orchestrating the downfall of the Chantry or any one faction but the world itself. Which calls for everyone to put aside their differences and band together to save the day...defeat the Ancient Evil which will inevitably be Flemeth and probably end up with some cliffhanger that doesn't resolve much of anything and likely is barely touched on ever again.

I really hope that the last part is wrong.  Not an unresolved cliffhanger.  Please

The rest of that would be fun.  Not original or unique, but genuinly enjoyable, unlike DA2's story was for me.
