I believe it is true, but now Bioware have to think 1000 times to continue that story or not....if they continue then it is the biggest mistake Bioware ever did. DA3 will become senseless far worse than DA2, and that make DA universe not worth to get into....

Sure, if that leaked survey is real. They haven't confirmed or denied it yet. Either way, they've shown a bunch of concept at to fans at Gamescom so it's only a matter of time before we get to see them too. If the concept art matches the survey's concept art then that'll confirm it.

Ye gods, Cole as a companion. He was, like, the most boring murdrous emo ghost ever, and I *like* emo ghosts! Um, if we are talking about Cole from Asunder, of course. And if it's not fake. I hope it's fake. Cole as a companion, gods... Taking a spot of a male companion and a possible love interest, no less. Given that two out of three female companions in DA2(Merrill and Isabela) couldn't even hold a candle to male companions like Varric, Fenris and Anders, this doesn't bode well.

Here is and original thing: Story about a... doriong (half-giraffe half- human baby) who lives under Earth crust and when he/she/it farts... volcanoes erupt.
Just now I tried to come up with something original and as you can see it's now very... interesting.
In my opinion, all "original" things where created/imagined/written about in the last century (both story and possible technologies)
Strong point of ME (aliens, very bad aliens, FTLS... humans) and DA (elves, dwarfs, magic) are not their originality but:
1) Lore - history of races, events, world; limitations of technology/magic.
2) Humor/Drama/Characters
3) Ability to make different decisions which might have consequences in the future
About the Lore:
Lore was already established in DA:O and bending it will have negative effect.
The amount of Lore is HUGE!!! It's almost comparable to WoW
There are many things that we must yet to discover: How elven ancient history and gods connects to human history; what is actually Fade/demons/darkspawn/Maker/magic; what lies beyond "world map" which is actually only part of 1 continent; travel around different nations; and WHY THE GAME CALLED "DRAGON AGE" to begin with.
About Humor/Drama/Characters:
You ether like it/them or not. But as I can see there are few people who would give less than 7/10 to BW for that.
About decisions:
...Here lies the corner stone of love and hate. Game developers are restricted by time and money. The more they "respect" your every decision the less game-hours gamer will experiences.
Why? 1 decision - 1 play through. But developers will have to spend time/money to make all alternatives and by that the amount of game hours will shrink from 45 to 40 from 40 to 37 and so on.
Cameo is the middle ground between logic/money/game hours. Why?
Ex: I killed Zevran in DA:O because I hated him and developers made 2 hours long mission chain with him. That will ether jeopardize my decision making progress next time I play DA:O or lore brake my game if he still appears alive in DA2 or I will simply go in "Why not Morrigan?" rage mode.
Making somewhat 1 hour long cameo for every possible companion (who might be dead) is pricy.
And logically why should any of those companions choose to associate with Hawk? In DA:O they had a reason to follow Warden (vision, make god child, saved their live).
Bottom line - I don't know what actually you call rip-offs.

I cannot put a single word about real religion and politic here or i will get banned permanently, but the story is a rip-ff from real religion and history.
Chantry, Templar, Tevinter Imperium, Qunari, Orlais...are all rip-off from real world religion, constitution, organization and history. Example, Morigan and Flemeth is European popular folklore rip-off, for the one who don't know it then they thought they are original characters, for the one who know it is otherwise. DA universe is a rip-off from many stories.
Look at KotOR, the story is original, of course it is based on Star Wars universe, but it become a canon in Star wars universe
