I think whether it's fake or not is irrelevant. At this point, I'd rather talk about a false leak than blather constantly about a lack of information.

I like how you think. And I happened to think the same way 

Anyways, we need to remember if this survey is real, it isn't final. Plus those names can be like codenames/temporary names or something. Nothing guarantees that they will really be called by those names.

I don't see any blonde guys, mostly just 'The inquisitor' In different Mage,warrior and rogue armors with a few possible companion pics as well as some others I think I recognize.Jaws of Nay sayers across this forum just hit the floor, and it feels gooood

Since some want to know more about the survey I'll tell you

So first you had to provide basic information like name and age.. then how much you play in a week.. which consoles you own.. then questions about how well you like this or that game, examples were Mass Effect 3 and Dragon Age 1+2... then something about a lot of games that are going to be released this or next year and whether I'm going to buy them or not.

Then there were a couple of questions where I had to chose between two aspects of a game and say what I'd prefer, like whether I'd rather have good action or a good storyline.

Then the DA-specific stuff started. It was a short text about setting and story and you had to write what you liked and disliked about it.
Then the character descriptions, and whether they sounded good to me or not. Then a couple of questions related to the game. There was a couple of aspects named that might appear in DA3 (like good action, good story, good companions...) and I had to check the most and least important one.

Then there were a couple of character concept arts (which looked rather boring, to be honest), all human characters. I remember an older guy with brown hair, beard and shield, a knight or something, and an exotic looking woman with black hair and fancy clothes. Also a weird looking guy with a strange beard and a gun, if I recall right. The rest was too generic.

Finally you could vote for a name.

I'm assuming that those who do show up on the survey are new characters, so I guess Cullen would not be in it...or so I hope that's why he isn't

This is weird. I don't think it'll go down very well that Bioware are doing market research in this level of detail - to the point of asking for names? - when it isn't even announced yet,

This whole Inquisition stuff sounds very appealing, but I doubt mages would suddenly have that much power. I hope its true. If not, I'm sure they'll come up with something even better. I rather fight the Inquisition and create a new society in Thedas. (Ok too much)

Oh, concerning the argument that game companies would not let random guys rate their game concepts via surveys: yes they do.

I get surveys about upcoming movies, games and products all the time. As I mentioned I received a survey about "Snow White and the Huntsman" about one year before the first trailer appeared in public. In fact I could have filmed my screen and put the trailer on youtube had I wanted to. I also received surveys about Final Fantasy and various Nintendo games long before publicity knew about them.

Makes you feel sneaky and awesome when those things finally are revealed. Like "oh you think that movie looks great? I knew of it before it was cool."

EDIT: If there really were non-humans in the concept art, I probably didn't pay enough attention. I was taking the survey in school...

There is a Knight with the sword of mercy on his chest but he doesn't look like cullen to me, personally

To be fair he looks completely different in DA2 than he did in DA:O, it wouldn't surprise me if they'd changed his face for a third time lol.

I've already explained all that in your twitter thread, I'm not repeating myself.As far as NDA's go, those are tricky because you can sign one unwillingly just by using a beta key as was the case with dragon age legend but if I was Under a NDA, my Issue would be with the Survey company, I am under no such obligation from bioware itself.

One of the names listed as a character was Cole. As I recall, Cole was a strange ghostly character from the book Asunder.

Yes he was.  But seeing as what he became at the end of the book it would be interesting to see how Bioware could make him a commpanion.
