Here's the thing. Gaider has stated, many times, that the Old God Baby is NOT Canon.

Gaider also said that if you killed Leliana in Origins then she wouldn't be in DA2 when that image of her with Cassandra popped up before the game dropped.

Does anyone know if game companies finish the game before or after they have the voice actors come in?

Bioware tends to do the VO sessions right in the middle of development. That's how they did ME2, ME3 and DA2.

No. She comes from Rivain, she has dark skin.

The female elf in the concept art:

kind of reminds me of the female elf in this video for Dragon Age 2 that they used for the concept stuff there:

Maybe even that shirtless Qunari is the Iron Bull ?

Seriously. They announced ME3 way before anything was done, December 2010...Oh wait, that wasn't a good idea. Never mind.

Keep working and announce only when you're almost done, Bioware.

they've been announcing DLC withing like 3 days-2 weeks of release... i'm guessing they wouldn't do that for a game. :?

Oh, I know. Haha, I meant almost done as in whenever they have enough stuff to show gameplay trailer. I just don't want them to make a huge announcement, bring everyone's hopes up and then crush it (again). :?

Oh, me too. For example, ME3 was announced with a trailer in Dec 2010 but we heard nothing about it until May 2011 (then had to wait until March 2012)

I just wish whenever they announce it, they are far enough into development that we don't have to wait a year until it comes out. :?

Oh btw, I'm back and I noticed I haven't even uploaded the description. Since I guess none of you speak German anyway, I'm just translating it. It's different from the one in the first survey, which is kinda interesting. Basically it's more clear and explicit. So here it comes:

"A portal between the worlds unleashes hords of demons in the land, civil wars rip apart nations and the corruption is limitless. Someone is behind the shadows, drawing the threads which destroy the world. Time has come for the Inquisition.

Take the Inquisitor's cloak and lead the only force able of bringing light into the darkness. Choose the direct method and gather your armies, send spies into the shadows or engage in a political war, make friends and use your connections indirectly: it is up to you how you lead the inquisition. But you'll have to take lead of it from the beginning. Make your player a rogue, warrior or mage and set up your crew from up to ten (!) complex companions to lead them against those who attack you by systematically spying on, revealing and destroying them."

Might sound a bit clumsy due to the translation.

I guess we know what 'The Breach' is, then!

Those different approaches sound fascinating, although I'd wonder whether it's actually implemented well in the game or just marketing hyperbole for dialogue choices.

I'd say hyperbole, although maybe each main quest will be delt with differently. As in one shadow spy quest, one political etc,

I think all of this info sounds pretty awesome (if it really is true)! But what I really want to know is if the main character would start out as an inquisitor right at the beginning, or if he/she would be invited or forced into it due to certain events like with the warden of DA:O?

The first survey marketing blurb, if it's accurate, seemed to suggest the player would *become* the/an Inquisitor after the events at the start of the game, which had a peace meeting of mages/templars in Orlais being destroyed by a mysterious blast.

It's also said pretty blatantly that the Inquisition isn't pro-Chantry per se, but is just a person empowered to stop the chaos and disorder by any means, and by travelling around Thedas to uncover the mystery of what happened.

Also while we're here, what on earth is the point of Bioware's staying quiet about any future game if it looks like concept art, a pretty large list of possible companions, and a fair chunk of information about the game's setting and early story is leaked before it's officially announced?!

It'll make companion announcements a bit anticlimactic, surely?

I mean, they're (apparently) deciding marketing angles and points to emphasise before the company will even reveal what it is they're developing.

Oh meant being done as in "taking place", not being done as in "completed".

I think they just started on the VO

All hints point to Flemeth really, who probably saved Hawke so he/she could start a war between templars and magi. I don't see why she would help stop the blight though, as that would surely have caused more chaos and disruption than all of these things combined.

There's no way they're going to wait that long. The game will probably be released next Spring and EA loves having long pre-order periods so I would expect an announcement trailer this fall. But if this leak gets spread around enough they may pish their schedule forward and reveal the game without a full trailer.

Ah, thanks for the clarification, I hope that's the way it will be :) It will be interesting to see how different the origins of the inquisitor will be depending on if they are a mage or not.

Next spring as in spring 2013, or spring 2014?

Spring 2013 seems pretty soon for a game not even officially announced yet. Then again, it is EA... but still.
