Well they are all linking your thread. Anyway why so serious, the leak is a survey site's Fault, not yrs. And blame BioW for being sloppy/Image IPB

Sorry, but that's really dumb. Earthborn_Shepard wasn't supposed to leak this information. When you participate in these sorts of surveys you agree not to disclose any of the information.
Your argument is basically like saying "It's not your fault you shoplift, it's the store's fault for having shelves full of items you want."
Bioware is gathering market research to better promote their game. They did not get "sloppy."

Agreed.

Uh-huh. So where does that put u.Image IPB

The Inquisitor sounds like a news rag rather than something I want to be called for 20-30 hours. I want race and background choices back but right now I'm also leaning towards a set surname that everyone uses when referring to the PC.

I don't see how Inquisitor is in any way worse than the Champion or the Warden or The Hero of Ferelden. And if our protagonist is indeed going to be a member (or possibly a head?) of the Inquisition, I can't see people calling him by his/her surname being more appropriate than the official title. Say what you want about the Inquisition, but they are the ones to be feared and respected.

Hawke was rarely called anything other than Hawke. Being called Warden by everyone, including by the LI, especially when Alistair was in the party was just weird.

There was another guy who spreaded/leaked it. Look at my comment upwards

How does that change the fact that you blamed the survey site and Bioware for someone breaking the rules?
Services like these surveys are employed all the time for market research and data gathering purposes and you have to agree not to spread/leak the details if you participate in them. You're blaming the victim.

The story certainly has possibilities and seems to allow the chance to choose a race at least. I prefer Apocrypha but I wonder who the inquisitor is working for as Grey wardens don't interfere, the Chantry already has seekers and I can see any other major organisation getting involved to bring peace

He actually was, quite a bit, but in more formal situations and, of course, after becoming the Champion, which would limit the usage of the title to the third chapter.
I do agree about the Warden though, in more intimate situations this seems less appropriate. )

And even if your PC was pressed into being an Inquisitor, or Seeker, or...? I could see some good tension coming from that situation.

Let's say you're a mage, or pro-mage. Perhaps there are those within your very faction that strongly disagree with how you're leading things. I could see having to watch enemies within your own faction.

And vice versa, you're big pro templar...maybe there are those that will disagree. I could see your leadership being challenged. Or general skullduggery afoot. a lil poison in the wine?

Or will all that be irrelevant if there are bigger fish to fry than the mage/templar conflict?

Don't count on it. Bioware has said many times that they won't be going back to the Origins-style PC. Voiced, human-only PCs is more than likely the future of the franchise.

What EA/Bioware did with this survey (if it's from them ) is like my mom did once at Xmas when i was a kid.
She put the presents under the tree two weeks before the party and ask me to not touch it...
Guess what I did.

As a Lawyer I can assure, you dont have to worry about anything, I just registered in Toluna and they didnt show me any agreements that says that you cannot reveal any information on that webpage, the slogan even says Opinions for all, so everyone can register there.

If Bioware or EA, sent some `secret` info to them, its their fault, not even Toluna`s fault, I think they need to find better lawyers, they cant do anything to you, in fact if they start bothering you about that, dont worry you will win the fight, because If you have `secret information` about a `secret project` you dont go and give the information to a site like Toluna, you do some research using other methods, Its like making a survey that says `What do you think of my bank account number, is it cool? Of course someone will copy that number and will use that information, but who has the fault in the end, the one that revealed his banking account number or the one that used it?

Also, the ones that are yelling THIS INFO IS REAL is them for threating people with lawyers and jail, thats why I say they should get better lawyers, they should send them to Jail becasue they are the ones revealing information with their stupid threats, we didnt even know this was real until they pulled that stupid stunt, they should just STFU and recognize their own mistake, and once more GET BETTER LAWYERS EA!

Sorry for my bad English guys lol

Well to be honest I had to check a box at the beginning of the survey about how I'd keep all information secret and if I didn't they might sue me.. :innocent:

but is that even a real, binding contract?

Well, not really. Now if they had released this survey on the BSN, giving only a select few users a chance to vote and asking them not to tell anyone else, then you would have had a more legitimate comparison.

I am not sure, but maybe the inquisition is some kind of oranization answering directly to the High Mother, and was formed (by her?) to find out how to solve the whole conflict...and it is up to us, the hero-warden-inquisitor-hawke-shepherd how we achieve this...ruthlessly, cunning, peacefully (kind of), for mages, templars or, hopefully for a golden middle way...

Still, I don't know if I totally like that concept...I guess I am more the fan of the innocent hero setting out for glory, the girl/boy of her dremas and shattering an evil villain on the way...but those stories seem to be oldfashioned by now...*sigh*....how many games like that were there, anyway...

Yet of course I look forward for more ... solid informations...

No , i don't think it's super valid...
They didn't even offer a way to make a copy of it .
I remember something about tracking IP adress , and not being able to do another survey .

@Personality disorder : it took me 30 minutes and a bit of luck to find the survey when i hear about it....and it was already linked two weeks ago on french BSN.
I mean they could have post it in BSN directly ...It's the internet ...since when it's a place to put secret in?

Well I dont think it is, because if you check in Toluna site, it says Create Surverys for Free, what if someone just created this survey and wanted everyone to believe it was real, so the best way for that, was to create a `contract` in the beginning with a checking box,  also you said you didnt know it was real, lets face it, didnt look real at all to me at first so you were just showing something that looked kinda fake lol  and as i said before, if Bioware wanted that kind of privacy, why go to Toluna at all lol.

I mean Earthborn_Shepard , I don't know how they could sue you ....
When you sign a contract , usually the society have to give you a copy of it or offer a way to make an easy copy.
And they have to warn you what risk you would take breaking the contract.
It has to be a bit precise , it wasn't.

I don't know much about Toluna. Is it a venue well used? Do other devs, or films use their services?

Or is it a Create Surveys for free to any nut case?

Haha, true enough. Although I would not want this situation to discourage them from carrying out any more surveys in the future.

It's quite professional actually, and you get paid for the surveys you do

I often get surveys by well known companies

To be fair, Toluna's more of a gateway site than an actual survey site. When you get picked for a survey you get redirected to an external site to take it, which is where they usually tell you to tick a box essentially signing an NDA.

Also yes, it is used by big companies/film-makers/games companies. I've taken a few myself.

When you first got this info you should have put it on wiki-leaks.

Then I could claim that something relevant to my interests is on that site.
