I know that a lot of information seems to have surfaced recently and a lot of you have questions. We have not announced anything and, as I have said before, we won't be talking about anything until we have gameplay to back up the words.

I know it is difficult to be patient but I ask you to do your best to allow us to surprise and delight you when we DO have something to show you.

In the meantime, keep giving us your feedback at expos, fan conventions, and online. We are listening.

It doesn't matter if it was requited or not. Imagine if Snape suddenly decided to romance another character, if Lennier "moved on" after Delenn, if Scarlett gave up on Ashley mere months later, if Fleur forgot Jon Forsyte after her marriage? What would've happened with the books? It kills the story. It's the same with every piece of art, including games.

No.

Scarlett may have thought she loved Ashley but her true love story was with Rhett.

Well, if you can convince thousands of "Cullen loves Amell" fangirls that it's just a minor crush and it's as easily dismissed as the epilogue slide, I'd be very surprised. :)

I do feel unhappy about the choice, though.

Whut? So you expect the guy to never meet anyone else or look at another woman just 'cause he had a naive crush on the Mage Warden when he was a youngster? That's crazy. Surely you wouldn't stay single for the rest of your life because you were once in love with someone you met whilst in school that didn't work out.

I'm sure he'll never forget the Mage Warden, but it's more likely that he's still single due to head mess or not finding anyone he likes enough yet.

Now Mark post just makes me feel a little bad.
I mean i hope this kind of post didn't upset people working on DA3...
Speaking for myself spoilers and leak just drives me crazy , i can't change , I love them .
And when I like something , i want to know .
It's kind of childish but hey it's fun and not meant to harm anyone in the first place.

Well, I imagine it's annyoing to be contacted by a hundred websites like "IS THIS TRUE IS THIS TRUE WE WANT A STATEMENT"

I didn't mean for it to go that far.. well, that's a lesson on what happens to information once it's on the internet, I guess

You are right, that looks like the Seeker symbol, but I doubt its the person we`ll play.
I personal think this is simply a companion, who may become a part of your "Inquesition order", however it does make one wonder. Posted Image

The lore since The Witch Hunt suggest that The Inquisition Order are the Seekers of Truth. In Witch Hunt, there is a picture describing an Inquisitor (pre Nevarran Accord in Divine 1:20) hunting mages and he's wearing that symbol (sunburst + eye).

We also know that Cassandra is one of the companion in the concept arts. The lady in "Seeker  heavy armor". Mike Laidlaw's twitter comment about the "Cassandra Elevator" use that specific art piece.

So the way I understand it: Inquisitor = Seeker. The only part that make 0 sense to me, is why would Cassandra take order from a nobody (or anybody for that matter).

As exciting as 'leaks' and whatnot are, I don't think anyone here actually intends to bother Bioware about it. I'm quite willing to be patient, although it does sound like an announcment for DA3 is still rather far away.
Oh well, it's still fun to speculate and spread the craziest theories. Makes the wait enjoyable. :)

Alright, I believe I have a valid explanation to why we see two almost identical characters (the dark robed mages or whatever).

Ladies and gentlemen, did anyone consider co-op? It is VERY possible that BioWare created two brothers or sisters (or brother AND sister) in case people wanted to play co-op.

Aye you are right that the Seekers are and used to be the inquistion, although it is also said to be the Templars. If you read the book Dragon age Asunder you get what I mean, they mention this there. Anyway I shouldn`t spoil anything, however I can`t help, but to state out that that Cassandra and Leliana remains loyal to the white divine, even most of the seekers and templars are loyal to "someone else".

Because PCs have all the power, obviously. ;)
And I wouldn't say that companions really take orders from the PC. They're just that: companions who fight for the same cause. They just listen to the PC because he/she is someone with charisma, who can bring people together.

Although it does seem weird to make a nobody the Inquisitor. Personally, I'm in favor of a 'mistaking PC for someone else' scenario. I wouldn't be surprised if the PC was mistaken for someof great importance after that magical blast.
And it would be really fun to play someone who gets roped into a quest to save the world just because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. And it would be interesting to see how the companions (and especially the LI) react to finding out that their Inquisitor is really just a street rat/nobody.
Drama, baby, drama.

There was an implication at the end of DA3 that the Warden and Hawke teamed up to go somewhere. *That's* what I would love to see in Dragon Age III: something like Suikoden III where you follow three intersecting storylines, two of which let you play as returning characters. I would love to see my DA:O character in a game again.

The great nation of Orlais, the most powerful empire in Dragon Age, tears itself apart in civil war...

Thanks for posting Mark - I'm genuinely very interested in what seems to be coming, and hopefully it'll be even more exciting with some context and clarity behind it.

Oh yes! two or three seperate storylines in one game would be pretty epic! just like Lord of the Rings the Two Towers. xD

Glad to see some kind of official acknowledgment. For my part, I'm willing to be surprised and delighted.

As for feedback, I've already expressed my thoughts here and elsewhere, but to summarize:

Player agency is important. Please give us a chance to shape our character's values and beliefs in a neutral setting, an "origin," if you will, before thrusting us into a role with religious or political associations. Inevitably, the protagonist will have to work for somebody s/he doesn't want to work for, but starting the game already employed by that entity is more limiting to character creation than being forced into it later on. Partisan companions are great! Everyone has an opinion, and well-defined values enrich the personality of our followers, but restricting player-characters to a fixed moral agenda is probably not the way to go.

It's something that's difficult to tell from the information we have, yeah - though the implication is that the PC becomes the Inquisitor as a matter of course, in response to whatever the magical blast did. I speculated earlier in the thread that it might not be solely because they were in the right (wrong) place at the right (wrong) time, but because of some feat of leadership/intuition/bravery that singled that character out - whoever it was - for attention and to lead some section of the investigation.

But if some form of backgrounds or origins were included, it'd be really interesting to meet a character related to that later on and have party members react.

Except that would probably mean we only get to spend one third of the game with each character and that's just not enough time to establish relationships, plot and everything else that makes RPGs so much fun.
People already complained about the romances in DA 2 being underdeveloped, imagine what they will say if we only get one third of that in DA 3.

That would be my fear, anyway. Posted Image

Then just give me that game.  You can skip the mage/templar conflict in DAIII.

Hehe true, that is the negative about it. xD
Although I guess that depends how long the game is. Not sure if you people around here have played the Game of Thrones rpg, but I thought that was pretty good game and it had two different storylines that merged into one, it was pretty epic! I know that game has gotten some negative response by few, but it really is a good game, according to me that is. The suprising thing with that game was that the game had a similiar combat system like DA:O, I would really like to see DA3 somewhat like that. :)

But even if the PC did something incredible like saving someone or killing some big baddie, I still wouldn't appoint a person I've never met before as leader just because of one great deed. Of course, we could just combine those two things and say the PC proves himself as a hero and that's why people mistake him/her for someone else. Because obviously, nobody else could be that strong/intuitive/brave/heroic.

And then the PC has to tell Cassandra at some point that s/he's not really a hero (http://www.dramabutton.com/) and that s/he really didn't intend this to happen and Cass can yell "BULL****". Because if she doesn't, I'm going to be really disappointed.

Aw man, it's fun to warp everything so it fits your head canon (you shouldn't even have because the game hasn't even been announced yet).

*sigh*
Is it bad that I already want to draw fanart of characters we don't know yet?
