I know that a lot of information seems to have surfaced recently and a lot of you have questions. We have not announced anything and, as I have said before, we won't be talking about anything until we have gameplay to back up the words.

I know it is difficult to be patient but I ask you to do your best to allow us to surprise and delight you when we DO have something to show you.

In the meantime, keep giving us your feedback at expos, fan conventions, and online. We are listening.

If you are going to keep the name of Inquisitor/Inquisition you should remember the rest about who they are and what they do.
Otherwise people will start to think on religious zealots.

I can't understand what part of new order is not registering in some people's minds

Not new if it already happened in the past, also, I said it because Dragon Age's inquisition =/= real life's inquisition.

Some people don't know that this order is old and they could think that we'll burn organics in Maker's name

I have no problem doing the maker's work =]

Well, I have a list of people here that could do with some nice, even burning. I like 'em crispy.

Don't forget the salt.

Now that's the one I definitely want to meet in DA3. I hope Alistair won't kill her.

Kossith, I presume?
She looks more like the DA:O style Kossith than the ones of DA 2.

Now if we met a female Kossith like the one in the concept art of DA 2....DAYUMM. I'd explode all over the place.

Yep, as I said before, this time the order will have to solve other conflicts besides blood-mages, so you can be sure that there will be mages around.

I'm sure that there'll be mages around (otherwise we'll not be able to play a mage PC) What I want is mages and non-mages in this new organization on equal terms. I think it'll be like that.

Uh...the way encounters and equipment is set up in most table-top games is artificial level scaling to remain balanced.  Most adventure modules have it scaled correctly to a specific leveled campaign, and often have equipment that matches that scaled level.

No, a good DM will plan and design combat encounters beforehand.

The second sentece has nothing to do with level scaling. Level scaling is done on the fly, it's a case of aritificially and dynamically altering the monster's level to match that of the player's. When a campaign is planned with a specific player level in mind; that's not per se level scaling.

Or i should clarify, most modern RPG tabletops do that. Older games from the 1980's and some early 90's don't do that, but those game punish the player more than being a game, so there you go.

Table-top rpgs are led by a human DM, so it has nothing to do with how modern the RPG tabletop is.

Being able to wipe the floor with [some]* enemies as you play a game that

And vice versa, is part of a believable world.

*added by me

A good DM is hard to find, and usually it has little to do with what they plan. A good DM is supposed to be part storyteller, part improv comic, because the players are the ones making the story, not the DM. The DM can guide the story a bit, but the players need to be the stars and keep the story going. This, however, is irrelevent to the point I was making though.

You can alter stats and scale things as much as you like, in the end it still is scaling encounters to the player's game. The realism comes into the context of the encounter, not the level of it. And I hate to say it, but most people who play table top games don't go for realism like they should, and just plough through enemies because they can, or think they can. This is why printed modules have things scaled now a days.

The official artwork looks fine. A female Kossith would be cool to see. I get the feeling though it will be a rare occurance still, although a Kossith as a companion again would be really nice to see, especially if we get one who is more Tal-Vasoth over Qunari.

Exactly, they just seem to share the same name, as the sypnosis says a new order will rise from the ashes. Why people think bioware would make a mage pro templar is beyond me, it's just not their m.o to force a choice like that down our throats

I agree. I don't think I'll buy the next game if the PC is a member of a one-side organization. I prefer the PC to be part of a neutral organization, like the GW, or not be part of an organization.

I doubt it will be 50/50, mages are not that frequent and most of them are in conflict.
Probably it will from 75/25 to 70/30 at most.

I didn't explain myself well. I wasn't talking about their numbers in the organization, but their status. A mage Inquisitor should have the same status and power of a non-mage Inquisitor.

Hey, Mark! Waka, Waka, Dude.

Uh, but, yeah--personally it's not so much that I have more questions as it is that I now have....cautious optimism. Although, I understand nothing is written in stone, and we have a long road still ahead, I'm liking what I'm seeing.

The ideas are intriguing. To me, anyway. If this has truth to it, I like what BW DA is Considering. Lots of potential. I'm taking it all with a grain of salt, but...yeah.

It's a "so far, so good, knock on wood" scenario for me. I hope BW/DA continues to explore these paths ahead.

Either way, I'm really excited to see what you guys step up with. Definitely looking forward to seeing some quality pics, too.

Let me be specific about what I'm liking (still taking it w/grain of salt):

1) It Seems we might have more flexibility within our classes.
2) Forgotten places; Ancient mysteries.......yes!
3) Spies; Stealth options
4) Choose how to lead the Inquisition
5) Potential companions seem...interesting

But we'll see. We'll see how it all goes, eh?

You all just make sure you eat right; get plenty of sleep; exercise; take your vitamins; stay away from those dam energy drinks....and it never hurts to meditate.

Jus sayin.

A spent game dev is of no use to me. I need you all at your best to pull this game off.

I'll unfortunately shamefully repost this, as I believe people missed it, Mark Darrahs post being more important and on the same page and all:

Has any1 considered that the reason there's two look-alike Mages on the concept art might be because one of them is the look the second player would have in a co-op mode, if co-op would be introduced in DA3?

Agreed tho I have to admit, this organization does sound promising. I hope the whole spies and political espionage thing makes its way into the final cut =]

Although it does seem weird to make a nobody the Inquisitor. Personally, I'm in favor of a 'mistaking PC for someone else' scenario. I wouldn't be surprised if the PC was mistaken for someof great importance after that magical blast.
And it would be really fun to play someone who gets roped into a quest to save the world just because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. And it would be interesting to see how the companions (and especially the LI) react to finding out that their Inquisitor is really just a street rat/nobody.
Drama, baby, drama.

I like this idea.

I was thinking it could be concept art for a male & Female Inquisitor seeing as they're wearing the exact same thing.I thought the woman might be morrigan at first because of the long bang along the forehead but then I saw the guy and that hope faded.

Now that's another story, it may be equal in that stuff, I mean... It works with the Grey Wardens.
But this orden is going to be rebuilt on a very special moment, they may have the same status, but probably there will be conflict with some members of both groups.

I honestly have about as much experience with co-op as I have with mountain climbing. None.
But co-op for Dragon Age still seems weird to me. How do you think this would work?

It could be, however I doubt it. I still think they are just companions who are siblings, even though the possibility that they are your co-op character is possible. :)

That would be perfectly normal, considering that they wanted to kill each other not long before.
