I'll unfortunately shamefully repost this, as I believe people missed it, Mark Darrahs post being more important and on the same page and all:
Has any1 considered that the reason there's two look-alike Mages on the concept art might be because one of them is the look the second player would have in a co-op mode, if co-op would be introduced in DA3?
I honestly have about as much experience with co-op as I have with mountain climbing. None.
But co-op for Dragon Age still seems weird to me. How do you think this would work?
Well, it depends.
IT could be a sort of drop-in/drop-out kind of co-op like Hunted: The Demon's Forge, where you have only two players fighting enemies in campaign settings and solving co-op puzzles.
I would assume it would be a separate mode though, similar to Baldurs Gate, where they had a party do a side campaign. My guess, the two characters are "agents" of the inquisitor as it were, who are doing shadow missions for information, supplies, loot, and territory.
Think the Mass Effect 3 multiplayer design, where it ties into the single player game but is not necessary to beat the single player game.

so far, I'm not seeing it. There may be Cullen, but even that one pic looks suspect. Like copy/pasted head. Idk.
Other than Cullen, possibly, I'm not seeing any.......good booty....We'll see what spear/staff/trident guy is like. hard to tell from these pics.

It is stated ten here yes: http://galaxynextdoo...-3-details-leak
But we know 8..possible 10..if you look at another post I wrote far back in this thread. xD
Ah yes here it is:
Captain Eldarion wrote...
I don`t really like neither of the name suggestions, I think it would be better if they called it: Dragon Age The Exalted Marches..like the cancelled dlc, but Dragon Age Inquisition or the Breach could work I guess.
If we play as an inquisitor we`ll most likely be a Templar or a Seeker, since those in the past were the same, and now that the Nevarran accord has been declared null and void it seems to have reapeared. Still I don`t understand how we can play as the leader though, since Lord Seeker Lambert seemed to have control of it all in the end of the book Asunder. Maybe we start out as a common templar who works for Lord Seeker Lambert, but who is forced to choose right from wrong when hunting mages, choosing side in helping the White Divine`s peaceful salution or Lambert`s brutal methods. Maybe we`ll even choose sides in the Orlesian Civil War, between Gespard de Chalons and Empress Celene I to further our cause, which again could drag other countries and factions into it all.
Anyway if we take a look at the companions:
http://images.wikia..../95/Bild5df.jpg
These two we have seen before, they were even presented on the Pax panel this year, one is a Warden and the other is most likely Cassandra Pentaghast, since that image of Cassandra is also used on the elevator at Bioware.http://twitpic.com/7pitg6
Then there are these two:
http://images.wikia....7/7b/Bild4u.jpg
The person at the bottom of that image is certainly Cullen, you see his face and you even see some of his templar robes under all the other garments he wears. The woman above looks Rivain, especially how her skin color and jewelry goes, but somehow she seems a bit Egyptian too so she could be from Nevarra.
http://images.wikia....c7/Bild3ed.jpg
These two look like Tevinter Magisters, and they both control magic it seems. Look closley and you see they wield magic in each their own hand, maybe they are siblings? Both seem to be male as well, so maybe brothers. The reason to why I say these look Tevinter is because of their clothing, take a look at the similiar clothing of the Tevinters in the new Dragon age Comic: http://www.newsarama...id=4425&page=1
http://images.wikia....58/Bild2sd.jpg
Now these two are interesting, the one at the bottom is certainly an female blond elf (rogue), who seem to be wearing Orlesian clothing, the person above is a bit strange..his nose and hair looks a bit unhuman, is he a Fex?...kinda looks like a type of bird/human crossbreed to me, but then again he could simply be human, he at least looks like a mercenery and he is wielding a spear! Wielding a spear in DA3 would be epic!
If you read this below, which has been taken from this site: http://www.rpgcodex....le.php?id=8375 we get to know a few other companions. (if not they already mentioned above.)
• Dorian: Dorian Pavus is a magister. The title conjures fear of arcane masters who once enslaved nations. Dorian may wield power of the magisters, but he delights in not being what you’d expect of them. Brazen and clever, this outcast is on a crusade to rid his homeland of its corruption.
• Sera: Sera is young, frenetic, and a brat through and through. She revels in the athleticism of being an elf, of being different. But her culture isn’t elven, or, for that matter, strictly human. It’s the underbelly of the city. In her network of rogues, what you do is more important than where you’re from, and friends open more doors than [titles?]. Robs from the rich, keeps it.
• The Iron Bull: The Iron Bull is a long way from home, and prefers it taht way. A slap in the face of typically humorless Qunari, he loves drinking, killing, and looting-not necessarily in that order. The head of a vicious mercenary company, he’s known for excellent pay and brutal punishment. It’s been a ten year party, but the Bull may find that old loyalties die hard.
• Cole: A long time ago, a young man died a cruel death in a dark place. And now, somehow, there is Cole. Was he a spirit of a demon? Is he human now? Cole’s not sure it matters anymore. Hounded by memories that aren’t his, incisible in a world he can stalk like a shadow, the rogue must decide between joining the living or preying on them.
Hmm looking at these, Sera kinda reminds me of the blond elf seen further above, and The Iron Bull could possibly be the dude with the spear, it is not certain he is a kossith even though he is a Qunari. Dorian and Cole..hmm it could be the two mages, but then again, Cole is suppose to be different...if he has not possessed one of them.
I personally really dislike Cole, he was annoying to read about...and I hope he is not a companion.
PS: After heavy discussion further in the thread we figured the two tevinters may be a male and female. xD

That would make sense, especially if it's true that you'll get a castle as lair. I doubt the Inquisitor will have enough time to manage a huge castle him/herself on top of his/her quest.

Very true.
I do hope Scribe girl isn't just some assitant. I hope she's a kick butt rogue/bard. We'll see.
So, you think we're really gonna have a castle? Idk how I feel about that. When we're traveling, which I'm assuming is going to be quite a bit..all things considered, are we going to be doing the camp fire thing again?

I kinda want the campfire back. Sure, a mansion or castle is nice and all, but whenever I entered the mansion in DA 2 I couldn't help but notice how incredibly empty and lonely that place was. Silent and devoid of life. No wonder Hawke decided to get the hell away from it.
The campfire in DA:O was cozy and it made you feel close to your companions. It also made for awesome "Could you two PLEASE keep it down at night?" jokes.

Yeah, the mansion in DA2 was rather soulless. I still liked having but I need a traveling lair, too.
If we can't have my personal fav---a big, old pirate boat
Just give me a stash box. And perhaps a sturdier tent? With a cot inside?
I wish I could import my stash box items. And that they would actually be of some use to me. Like the
Tome of Slumbering Elders the Keepr gave me. If that could at least help in potential gathering armies negotiations...I would be tickled.
Alas...
I still have Ser Wesley's shiled. I mean, I couldn't pawn that off. I wanted to tell Aveline that, but.
Aveline: "We sold that didn't we?"
Me: "Uh, no, actually....".(okay that's not an option.)

To be fair, pulling a castle out of your pocket might actually be kinda awesome.
I really don't think it can be done, unless they are planning on not letting us travel like in DA 2. But I think they've learned from their mistakes.

Another mansion seems unlikely considering we're going to be traveling in DA3 and not stuck in one place like in DA2. It would make no sense to be constantly returning to a mansion when our mission is to travel all over the place to gather allies and intelligence against a threat so grave.
"Hey guys, let's go back to Orlais."
"What? Why? We need to go to the Tevinter ruins to find the Eluvian."
"I just need to tidy up my mansion and retrieve some items from my tiny stash box."

But in this instance, I'm not too gung ho on the idea of a castle.

Or we might indeed get a mansion/castle, but a campfire when we're traveling. And Scribe Girl, if she is an assistant/companion could maybe have the ability to give us access to the things we've got stored in the stash box, amongst other things.
That might be a nice solution. We get to travel without having to go back every hour, but we still have a permanent residence that could be used for letters, conversations and whatnot.

The PC becomes the leader of this Inquisition. How they're going to do that and make it feel legitimate will be interesting to see.
Then we'll also have access to this castle. That's something. Will it be like DA:A where we essentially inherit, or appropriate, the title and holdings?

Though they could put the camp to for the parts of the game when the PC is too far from the castle.

I like both options (castle/mansion and camp), but for the castle/mansion, it should be more lively than Hawke's mansion, which was lifeless. A castle similar to Vigil's Keep, with only a bit more NPC would be great.
Yeah, I could get behind that. The castle in DA:A at least made me believe people actually live in there. Unlike the mansion in DA2. It felt empty even before...events like..."All That Remains". (I just realized that the section header says 'NO Spoilers allowed', so I should probably start watching myself. O.o)
But a campfire is still so much more intimate. And it makes such great fodder for fanfic.

The backgrounds can vary, but then the orphan learns of their..ahem.."Legacy". A spiritual; familial; bloodline stuff; successor to---whatever it is that's going on with DA3.
So, the PC would be essentially plopped into the middle of this madness, and can have various perspectives of the situation based on their upbringing.

My problem with Vigil's Keep was the way the companions were just stood at the sides of hall like robots. I'd rather they were more spread out and in an area that suited their character, not at a small wall decoration that suited their character.
