@ brushyourteeth, I guess it depends if we are truly going to get 10 companions all at once like is being speculated. I don't know if I'd like her back as a companion if I don't get the other companions back as well. I wouldn't mind her being a quest giver. I'd also like to see them give more than one quest, similar to the bartender in the Gnawed Noble Tavern. Alot of little quest which play out into a big one. One thing I would like to see for old companions is running into them inside a bar or tavern and actually having a chat with them, you actually sit down and have a beer. Someone in your party recognizes them. If Stroud were to be in the new game then I'd imagine he would know about Leliana because of the Warden Commander of Ferelden. I don't see how she can't be in DA3 because of her connection with the Divine and the events of Asunder.

I would love this! Especially if it was Alistair, since even if he's King he's got a reputation for hanging out at the bars, and we're probably venturing back into Ferelden.

Of course his cameo (and new appearance) were so unspectacularly done in DAII that there's a good chance we'll never see him again. But c'est la Dragon Age, amiright?

Oh, I'd love that.  Especially with all the love interest of the warden(s).  I'd especially like to hear an explanation from Alistair's own mouth why his queen isn't with him in Trevinter!  Hehe!   Uh he sure was eyeballing that Mae lady in the comic.  Then Isabela back on the ship.

She's in DA2 no matter what you do in Origins.

Oh I didnt know that...she was always alive for me...you must have been happy:)

Truth be told I just modded my game so she was still alive after I killed her.:P

Did you get that vibe too? I totally thought that was just me!

Maybe he's just learning to use some of his... assets?

I can't see why she wouldn't be in the game some how.

I'm kinda thinking that too. I mean she's always with Justinia (she could get sent out on missions, like finding the Warden and visiting Kirkwall, but I bet that'll grow to be mostly just Cassandra's role) so I bet we'll get a glimpse of her if we're siding with the Divine or maybe even get to fight her if we choose to side against Justinia.

But hurting Leliana would just be  Posted Image!

Maybe even if we don't get to see her we'll pick up a letter she's written or something. That'd be neat.

I would think that if Cassandra is playing a large or relatively large role(as a companion) then Leliana pretty much has to play a role. It wouldn't really make sense for her not to unless Cassandra strikes out on her own.

On a side not, the first time I played Origins I ended up killing Leliana when she went against me. I was so shocked when I cut her head off. I thought I would just be telling to fall in line but I took her damn head off.
That's when I realized how cool/hard it was making decisions in games.

Hahaha that sucks....she never did that to me....Was she in DA:2 for you?

...I didn't even know there was a possibility of Leliana turning against you. When does that happen?
(All I've ever managed to do was make her angry with me for breaking up with her so I could romance someone else. Even when I never actually romanced her. Damn bugs. Maybe I'm just too much of a goddy-two-shoes?)
But from what I've heard Leliana is in DA 2 regardless of whether you killed her or not.

Now, if Leliana was in DA 3, which is a likely possibility, I would expect her to give you some information about the Warden, especially if she had a relationship with her/him. And if that happens, I'll have to start DA:O all over again to get me a playthrough where my Warden romances her and...doesn't die. (Which is difficult, because I simply refuse to let either Loghain or Alistair - especially Alistair - touch Morrigan.)
Argh, this is gonna be a pain.

I did yes, .

If he is using his uh hmmm, assets, then he has some explaining to do when he gets home!  :lol:  I'm the Warden Commander, I have eyes and ears everywhere!

You know, that brings up something else - if we had someone like Leliana in our party (which probably won't happen, but hey - that's what "if"s are for, right?) it'd be sad not to be able to romance her, but we couldn't because of her possible love connection with the Warden and the headache all that importing/potential bugginess could cause. But if you had the opportunity to talk to her about the Warden and hear more about her feelings on him/her and their fate, would you guys like that, or would you rather not know? And what kind of information would you want her to share if you could get it?

I would want to know about her feelings and such, it is a reason I have an import for just that, lol. No specific examples though, I leave that to the writers themselves. But if the flag exists and she is a companion, she should have romance options blocked off. Let her be loyal, not like Jacob in ME3. If no flags exists, there should be another opportunity to do so, like the romance with Liara in ME3 if you didn't have a prior one with her.

@ Blackrising. This can happen at the Urn of Scared Ashes quest. If you destroy the ashes you have to kill her. Wynne also leaves the party if this happens. I've never done it yet, so all of my companions are still alive.

And yet it made no sense when you used it. Hmm.

Much as I'm loath to get involved, she did use the phrase correctly.

.... anyway....

So to get things back on topic, I'm re-reading Asunder and realizing just how important Leliana is to the events that surround everything involving the Chantry. What do you guys think about seeing her in the next game as either a quest-giver or a temporary companion?

(Hint: "Leliana is supposed to be dead in my playthrough" doesn't really count as an answer)  Posted Image

She's essentially the right hand of the Divine, it seems - I wouldn't be surprised at all if she's the main quest-giver who talks with the player character immediately after the Big Explosion Thing. She's definitely one of the most important characters related to the internal politics of the Chantry, doubly so if the safety of the Divine herself is under threat.

(Though I doubt she'd be a companion, who knows...)

Half of the time Wynne doesn't do anything. It's a bug, but it works out if you like Wynne.

I really can't imagine her being a companion again, even a temporary one.
Imagine all those people who killed her in DA:O flipping their **** when they're forced to not only see her alive and well but actually have her as a companion again.

I can imagine her kind of operating in the background though, with Cassandra acting as the link, keeping you up to date about what Leliana is doing at the moment and such.

Actually you can talk Leliana down. Not sure if it involves hardening or not, but you can destroy the ashes with her there. Wynne will always fight you if she is there, I think. I failed massively at that once, I had a fight with just my warrior and Alistair against Leliana, Wynne, the Guardian and his pals. Fight was NOT fun.

I was never in a romance with Leliana, but we were pretty close, so I can totally imagine her in her cutesy Orlesian accent gushing

"Oh, the Hero of Ferelden? Oh, she was so dear to me, and a very wonderful friend! One time we even stayed up all night by the fire just talking about shoes! She was very inquisitive, always asking me "Leliana, what do you know about this place?" and "Can you tell me another story?" Her favorite was about Ser Aveline, the first woman chevalier. I must have told her that story dozens of times! And she had the most beautiful hair! Oh, I could talk about the Warden all day, but we have work to do, no?"  Posted Image

I'm glad then, I was one of the few who actually liked Wynne.  I made her a spirit healer and a blood mage once.
I also took the dog to kill the Archdemon once, just to do it.  I'd have liked to sic him on Loghain too, but the Maker said I couldn't do that!  :police:

You know, in general I've been pretty against the idea of past romances returning as companions in subsequent DA titles, but I admit your little Leliana blurb there made me see the potential merit! That was adorable.

And it would be nice to hear what she has to say about the Warden. Even if it's completely irrelevant to the larger story.

Hm, she wouldn't necessarily even have to be a companion (and it looks like she won't be?) to have extensive conversations - we had opportunities to discuss The Warden with her as Hawke, and Leliana wasn't even a significant character in DA2. She appeared, what, twice?

Particularly if the start of the story involves the Chantry's leadership, she'd be involved somehow.

You know, I completely forgot about that. Do you have to specifically ask her about it, or does she volunteer the information? I ask because out of all the Hawkes I have, I think I only have a couple that ever bothered to question her. Most of the characters I made usually couldn't have cared less who she was, or what the Warden did. Which might be why, ahem, that conversation completely slipped my mind.

I dunno about you all, but the cameo I'd like to see the most without a doubt is cameos by Hawke's siblings. Considering there's four outcomes for them, and they're very much close to Hawke, it'd feel pretty nice to see how they're doing a few years since we saw them last =)

I'm pretty sure it's an Investigate option once she reveals her identity as Sister Nightingale. Hawke has presumably heard stories...

Since Hawke and The Warden's disappearance might be a fairly big plot point in The Next Thing, and the Inquisitor probably (almost certainly?) hasn't met them, Leliana's connection to both might actually be very significant.

You get to talk to Leliana in DA 2?!
How come I play DA:O and DA 2 about 7 times each and I still miss important things like that? I should really try doing things differently once in a while. My PCs always end up doing the same thing every playthrough, it seems. Posted Image

I have eight DA:O characters, all imported into DA2, and everytime I play through both games, I notice something I missed before. Every time. It's one of the reasons I love Dragon Age so much. ^_^
