God, I hope they took that 'Awesome' marketing strategy to the backyard and shot it in the face after DA2.

It sounded like they were trying to sell a power ranger action figure to a nine year old. "Press a button and something AWESOME will happen!!!" I was genuinely insulted when EA/Bioware tried to sell me their product using that line.

I actually heard that the awesome button is being replaced by the super awesome button, all new technology that when you press a button this time something super awesome happens.

In Dragon Age III, you start off and everything sucks; the controls are horrid, the GUI is unintuitive, and the graphics are ugly. Not long after starting the game in that state, your PC presses a button to open a door to a new area. After the loading screen, your PC is in the new location and everything is great. The graphics are fantastic, the GUI actually makes sense, and the controls work. Your character will have pressed the awesome button.

At least it's better than our current awesome button: exiting the game and booting up Witcher 2! ;)

If I hear anything about an awesome button in DA3 I'm sinking a boat full of kittens.

Gold, did they knock the bloke on the head who decided we're to mentally retarded to manage our squads armour? (yeah I know they wanted to save money).

+1

Not just that, the marketing guy  talked about Origins as it was a boring, crappy game. Not so good.

While I agree the "awesome button" interviews inspired some jaw clenching and tooth gnashing, the person who said something about marketing to 9 years olds is correct, is pretty much spot on, they were just trying to make the game appeal to the younger generation. They don't need to market to the old school BG fans as that's already pretty much a guaranteed sale. Well... they might have to market to them after DA2, but after the success of DAO I'm sure they figured they could string the old fans along for DA2 at least.

I could not believe how they advertised DA:2

First they make it a point of bashing Dragon Age: Origins and then this awesome button thing.

Its like they thought we were gullible or the majority of us were under 18 or something.

They really should have never condescended to the fans like that.
