ME3's multiplayer matches might not be story heavy, but people still want there to be some sort of story and when you go on a mission and the best case scenario is you dying and the worst case scenario is you dying, what exactly is the incentive?

I've updated the thread since your first post. You can choose to have an Endless mode which is really more meant to test how long you can last with overwhelming odds against you, or choose Agent mode which does have an end point.

I'd agree to disagree about most of these points, but you did ignore a couple of mine. Capital ships aren't something that grow on trees either and most of them are not retrofitted with stealth capabilities like the Normandy. Putting a destroyer against one of these facilities would be too little with the sort of defenses they would have in place.

Part of the reason you would want a team versus a missile is that the Reapers have shown to have the ability to mess with the trajectory of them and make them miss. All of the anti-missile defensive systems would already be up. Since these areas are huge in size the commandos are really just meant to slip in and destroy from within.

And I disagree that a group of 4 "N7 agents" are worth more than a capital vessel. The Reapers have destroyed most of the shipyards in-game and those can take years to produce.

Very good idea, creative. With a few tweaks , we could be on to something.

I love it. Only concerns are that a few more players would be nice (say 6, maybe even 8) and that people should be able to join mid-game, because with current connection issues a player who leaves or loses connection could cripple the team. I get the suicide mission part, so if someone dies and then leaves then no one else should be able to join, but otherwise it's just a convenience issue.

YES! more than 4 players! What an excellent idea for this game mode!

i like this except for one thing... and this one thing is big enough for me to not play it... the whole you die you're out for the whole match deal. id rather rez at the end of each wave and lose at a whole team wipe than slowly die out

You can always just quit and get your credits/experience. That way you're not just stuck watching everyone else.

Just a little notice: Put up a thread I mentioned earlier that is all about story based multiplayer missions utlizing your pre-existing multiplayer characters. You can check it out here.

Bioware: If you want more of my money... something like this will surely get it... and I would happily fork over every bit of 20$ for it.

I love this! This mode should have been a part of the game from the start. Bioware advertised that multiplayer would affect the single player campaign and influence the outcome but it's really just not the case. They tacked on the "galactic readiness" system to attract players, plain and simple. We all love horde mode, that's why we're here, but such an amazing and immersive roleplaying game deserved a story-driven and complex multiplayer system to match single player, not just "kill all these enemies." I support this all the way, but I'm afraid I just don't see it being integrated into the game that we have now. It seems that ME3 multiplayer was more of an experiment than anything else, and now that Bioware knows that it can be done, I see it as a possibility for potential future Mass Effect titles.

I imagine that this mode would probably be paid dlc instead of free dlc, but it is something that I would pay for.

I wish they have crate drops also give out medi gel/thermal/op survival/missle refreshments to help keep your systems up cause we be running hyper thin around wave estimated 30 along with our ammo drops this would confirm we can keep ourselves up and going of course this means it will eat up our stockpile as normal but ya know.... thats worth the risk ...

Great idea! I would certainly pay for this kind of DLC.

The only flaw would be EA servers.

I admit having your connection suddenly drop would be a big pain in this mode. I'm not sure what Bioware could do to make it more stable.

This is an awesome idea. I'd love to have a game mode like this. Though my concern is how long would it take for them to build some thing like this up for us. I mean if they pull it off it could be worth a decent amount of points though I feel it would be worth it.

Sooo... is this under construction? When will this be released?? If it is, I'd consider playing more. But with Borderlands 2 and ACIII coming out, ME3 won't be played. ME3 is quite boring now..

I would be willing to pay for this however with all the connection issues this game has currently I am not sure I would ever get to finish a match. Still we do need different game modes or things will really start to dry up around here sooner than latter.

I'd imagine a new multiplayer mode like this could easily be worth 10 USD or so.

I would really enjoy something like this. I do feel like it should be easier to revive someone though; maybe after a certain number of waves they recover? As in, they were injured enough to be knocked unconscious, but not actually dead. Or at least, this should be an option; the really tough players could turn it off.

Added in new mode options:

Difficulty: Players can futher customize beyond Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. They can choose the "normal" modifier or the "hardcore" modifier. Normal means that ammunition is not limited and characters respawn in between waves. Hardcore follows the old rules of limited ammunition and permanent character death. Credits and experience are multiplied x 2 in hardcore mode.
