Hello,

I just found out ME3 won't start anymore, earlier today i was able to play just fine and when i tried just now ME3 just closes, no error or message only 1 thing i could find in Eventvwr :

Faulting application name: MassEffect3.exe, version: 1.3.5427.46, time stamp: 0x4faaf484Faulting module name: igo32.dll, version: 9.0.2.2064, time stamp: 0x5020416dException code: 0xc0000005Fault offset: 0x00026a60Faulting process id: 0x9b4Faulting application start time: 0x01cd7b2134a997c0Faulting application path: D:\\Program Files (x86)\\Origin Games\\Mass Effect 3\\binaries\\Win32\\MassEffect3.exeFaulting module path: C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Origin\\igo32.dllReport Id: 76a676d1-e714-11e1-aad2-0030487a5d0d

What i tried:
-Update ME3
-Repair installation

Which didn't do a damn thing so on to next steps:

-Reinstall Origin
-Reinstall ME3
-Updated ME3
    -Tried starting
-Repair install again.
    -Tried starting

Everything i tried doesn't seem to solve the problem.

I also tried:
-Running Origin as Admin
-Running ME3 as Admin (From game dir while Origin is active)
 -Disabled 'Origin in game'

And just to be sure:

-Checked Disks for errors.
-Reinitialised raid disks/integrity check.

-Clean Windows 7 start
-Start->Run->msconfig->Services tab->check 'Hide all Microsoft services' ->Disable all.
   -Startup tab->Disable all.
-Reboot.
Reinstalled Origin and upgraded to beta "Origin->Application settings-> (scroll down) Check 'Update to the beta version if available' ->Done.
-Kill Origin.
-Restart Origin and follow the update process.
-Uninstall Mass Effect 3 through control panel ->programs and features.
   -Delete Mass Effect 3 folder.
-Use Origin to download Mass Effect 3 again.

System Specs :
(even though i don't think it matters since it ran just fine)

Dual Xeon X5450 @ 3.0Ghz (8cores total).
OS Disk 64GB SSD
Program/Game drive 2 x 1TB @ Raid0
16GB 667 DDR2-FB-ECC Dimm.
Ati Radeon 5870, latest drivers (2x but only 1 in use no Crossfire).
Windows 7 64bit SP1 Updated.

I also tried deleting my 'ME3-saves' folder but nothing seems to help.
Any suggestions are welcome, as i said this morning all was fine, did a few MP matches and suddenly it's not working anymore, since that time no updates were installed (Except ME3 update which is probably why it's not working now) and no new software was added/installed.

-Edit: Battlefield 3, Dragon age 1 and 2, Mass Effect 1 and 2 all work fine. So it has to be ME3 related.

-Edit2: Patching Origin to the 9.0.10.69 - 186967 beta did not solve the problem either.

-Edit3: also tried : MASS EFFECT 3 PC CRASHING ISSUEPRINTUPDATED:  3/9/2012If you are having a crash issue with Mass Effect 3, you may need to download a patched version of the awc.dll and EACore.dll files in your game's EACore folder.  Here's the instructions: Make sure Origin and your game are not running. Download these file here: https://download.dm....sertest/awc.zip andhttps://download.dm....test/EACore.zipUnzip or extract the contents to your desktop. Navigate to the binaries\\core folder: Mass Effect 3 default is: C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Origin Games\\Mass Effect 3\\Binaries\\Win32\\Core Make a backup copy of your AWC.dll and EACore.dll files Move the new awc.dll and EACore.dll files from your desktop into the directory listed above. Now run Origin and launch your game from Origin. Doesn't do a thing either..

-Edit4: Renamed IGO32.DLL to something else but didn't solve the problem either.

-Edit5: After contact with EA Support i have done the following:

Manually uninstalled Origin, and installed it again.
-This required me to delete registry entries which i find a tad dangerous, i know what i'd doing and i also noticed that even though i deleted the entries they told me to, there were still loads of Origin related registry entries.
After i did this it still remembered settings/locations.

Windows 7 Clean Boot (disabled all non windows startup items/services. (see above)
Updated Adobe Air to version 3.3

-Edit6: Removed all saves, deleted locally, turned off cloud service and still nothing, still the same error and no ME3.

-Edit7: After having contact with EA Support 3 times now i'll be contacted by a 'Senior Tech Support' person.
Since i have no idea how long that will take i'm gonna try some more stuff myself. If anyone has a tip (HELLO BIOWARE?!) then please let me know.

-Edit8: This reminds me, i did take the Commendation/Victory pack from the ingameMP store, maybe that's what screwed things up.

-Edit9: ME3 works again (for now) i'm guessing some sort of combination of all the things i tried above made it work again. This however took me roughly 5,5 hours (according to Origin i only played ME3 for 4 hours :P).

After i did all of the above i decided to update to Origin beta again, uninstall ME3, manually delete folder (x:\\Program files (x86)\\Origin games\\Mass Effect 3) let Origin download the game again (15GB....) and this morning it all worked again.

For me downloading 15GB is no problem, it just takes a while, however there are still countries (Belgium) where they got a limit to how much they can download a month 5-10gb i think. So there downloading this game would set you back a whole month.

Seeing that reinstalling worked and repair install didn't i'm also guessing the repair install option is fubar.

I have also similar kind of problem. Everytime when i try to start ME3 it will start normally and i got there where game ask to click any key to contine (before menu), then game crash to desktop. I have been also trying some of those fixes but nothing is working.. over week now when this started, after that new Origin patch. Before that game was working normally without anykind of problem.

Yes that sounds familiar, i had the exact same thing but it would start after a few more tries, after that it wouldn't start at all anymore.

I'm guessing that if you follow the steps i've done (Leave a few out because they are only related to my system like the Raid integrity check).

And i think even though EA support tries to help etc, and yes i know there's a billion different computer configurations out there, different software installed and sure you can't rule out everything a game should 'just work' it's not rocket science.

I work in support also (POS systems, hardware and software support) it's all a bit to simple, in this case it's just a game but you can't ask a customer to try all that out and expect it to go well not everyone is that experienced with stuff like register editing/deleting certain special folders/accessing certain special folders.

1 thing i can advice everyone that needs EA support, get another PC/Laptop and open the live chat there since they ask to reboot ALOT, try this, try that and every time you reconnect you get a different tech support guy/girl. If you run Live Chat from Origin/Web browser on the same pc and you have to uninstall Origin/reboot you get to wait for a new support guy again..

Have you tried updating Origin?
If that doesn't work you have to uninstall Origin, install Origin, update Origin, install ME3.

And if that doesn't work.. try the list above. Clean boot etc.

Yay! I found to fix for that crash problem :)

Close your Origin and go to your Origin folder and there you find IGO32.DLL file, then you just change name of that file and then just run your game! :)

I hope this work for you.
