 Hey there,
I just installed the old NWN2 Gold Edition on my computer and the toolset don't seem to be opening up. I've heard it may be some .dll missing. Anyone has a clue about this?

Thanks

i'm really very sure the nwn2 toolset requires net3.0 or 3.5

but i think they made win7 compatable with that net

i have win7 and i didnt have to do anything.

I reinstalled the game and the toolset seems to partly work... partly.

At the end of the instal, when the Wizard is "Verifying DirectX components", or something like that, it sends the two first images as messages, in order. Weird thing is that the instal completes right after as if there was no problem.

I tried opening the toolset from the launcher, and it opened without the same problem as before. But when the toolset opens up, it looks like the third image and the File scroll-down menu lags when opened, like hell.

In the end; it's still not working.

Well, it's still not working in-toolset. I got the Dx9.0c thing you mentioned, didn't work either.

I don't know what's going on.

microsoft has a Fix IT app

I've used it a couple of times: once it didn't hurt, and the other actually fixed it. That's the extent of my endorsement :)

it may be something in the registry ... CCleaner might be a good run, too

I use CCleaner on my registry, it's supposed to be one of the gentler ones. It also cleans up temp.files + i use their defraggler and find it quality stuff for my needs. Personally I'd try that ms FixIT first, because i had some window issues (the Search window wasn't remembering its place & size) and fixIt got things happy again. Of course, your issue with the megalong dropdown on the File menu is different; all i can really say is that not long ago the toolset windows & functions were superlaggy for me, too .. but after a reboot or two it cleared right up

So if i were you, I'd just bring everything on the computer up to snuff and likely reinstall Dx9 since that was the error message,

This screeny might offer a comparison to see if your install dir is installing correctly.
