My point is that it's an opinion. The line doesn't violate any rules of grammar, so your english teacher is marking you down simply because (s)he doesn't like it. You can think the line's bad, and a lot of people can agree, but some people like it/would use it/would say it. Getting back on point, you're literally attacking his syntax, and that's just an opinion thing. It's a total nitpick.

And let's not pretend whoever wrote the script to Twilight did a good job ;)

My English teacher marked it down because we were supposed to write a 10 or more page narrative without utilizing any cliches (It is just as much a dick move as it sounds). You know English covers more than just spelling and sentence structure, right?

Who in the hell even says that

I have rarely (stressing the rarely) ever seen a movie in which somebody says something like that.

Wait, I'm confused.  Is it something that nobody says in real life and is rarely said in movies, or is it cliche?

Because quite literally, it cannot be both...

Movies aren't the only medium of storytelling? That's just my personal anecdotal experience, I've rarely seen movies where people say that. there are still songs, books, plays, audioplays, etc.

(Admittedly not the best) Example, dying in video games is technically a cliche. Dying in video games way back in the day meant you had to start over from the beginning. Most modern video games now downplay the relevance of in-game player death to such a degree that it isn't even an obstacle. When people die in movies, they stay dead, for the most part.
